Expected this to happen after reading the Chapter 11 papers of THQ. Some messed stuff in there, starting with this.

The possibility of THQ simply dissolving, being cut up and sold as parts to the highest bidders, is now a lot more real. Fucking hell, the THQ management has even managed to fuck up Chapter 11.

The reports I receive still affirm that Win8 is closer to WinME numbers than Vista and this seems to further confirm it. If MS doesn't backtrack and do Win9 more like Win7 than 8 then I can see MS getting into real financial trouble. There's no reason whatsoever for anyone using a PC, gamer or corporation, to change from XP or 7 to 8. In fact there's encouragement to stay with XP and 7 since 8 doesn't add anything and in fact is more of a step backwards, especially when it comes to taking control away from the user.

Balmer may be hanging by a thread if these Win8 numbers don't improve soon.

I remember this guy (Phil Fish):

Fez is a console game, not a PC game," he states, emphatically. "It's made to be played with a controller, on a couch, on a Saturday morning. To me, that matters; that's part of the medium." I get so many comments shouting at me that I'm an idiot for not making a PC version. 'You'd make so much more money! Can't you see? Meatboy sold more on Steam!' Good for them. But this matters more to me than sales or revenue. It's a console game on a console. End of story."

He only recently started changing his tune after Fez underperformed on the consoles supposedly. He was also refusing to do a patch due to certification costs on the console, not sure if that ever happened or not. Not sure I want to put money into this when he has those kind of business practices, lots of other cool games to play.

That quote is truly ironic considering he's now turning to the PC to get more money. Holy shit this guy gives all indie devs a bad name.

This is the same guy who said stuff like this. He is the ultimate douchebag and a fucking hypocrite since now that Fez didn't make almost any money on the consoles he now changes his tune towards PC gamers.

I don't care how good this game is, I cannot in good conscience support a developer as arrogant and douchey as this fucker.

Do have to agree, this year's Steam sale isn't anything special. Took the opportunity to buy some stuff I haven't in previous sales but other than that there hasn't been any real killer deals, not that we haven't seen before anyway.

Wow, that's pretty unbelievable.

... because replacing text within a white box in photoshop is unbelievable?

I'm not saying Hammerpoint is a class act but come on, or has Titov crossed the line and gone full-on Paul Christoforo?

I certainly hope it's real. And that everyone hears about it.

Considering the type of company we're talking about it's a very strong possibility that it is indeed real.

IMO best SimCity title ever. Even better with mods.

The more Maxis open their mouth and reveal more stuff about SC, the more dreadful and horrible the new SC seems to be. This is on par on trying to explain that the new remake of Syndicate as a FPS is a good thing too.

Amazingly Elite Dangerous has surpassed the GODUS funding goal but still has a way to go before it reaches the finish line.

I think Limit Theory will be the next spiritual Elite game to be honest and will probably be better than Elite:Dangerous.

Forsaken Fortress at $92,700. Nice to see it picking up speed in the last hours.

Godus just hit the first stretch goal at 460K too.

Ah well, hope this game turns out to be a good Populous homage because if it's another game full of hot air as Peter's last games were I can see this breaking Peter's reputation down to a non recoverable state.
If its not there already, why would a failure of that make it go there? Besides, all he has to do is release an unfinished product, and he can say he shipped a product to kickstarter backers.

Because it is kickstarter. Kickstarter supporters usually don't like receiving a pile of crap and they'll remember it next time Peter tries to peddle something there or on other crowdfunding site and from the looks of it he has no money to do otherwise than to go to crowdfunding sites to get his work financed. And there will be a next KS project for Peter, that's for sure.
