I don't have a problem with his "Don't like it? Don't buy it" stance... It's his implied "Stop complaining" stance that I take issue with.

This.

He is right about how people should stop buying this shit though. There are people, probably lots, that do buy this kind of shitty microtransactions crap. It's those kind of thoughtless practices from consumers that allow EA to pull this shit on us.

Anyone who bought Trackmania2 Canyon, use your key on Steam and you'll get the game on Steam.

Surgeon Simulator is the most inadvertently hilarious game I've ever played. If anyone want to really have some good hearty laughs, get this game and show the word how awful you would be as a surgeon.

Still playing NS2 too. The most pure PC FPS to come out in a long while.

Blizzard to PC gamers: FUCK YOU.

But hey, keep buying their games, guys. Good job.

This so many times.

Blizzard just shat on everyone who bought D3. I hope people now refrain from giving these guys their money.

Funded this one. Has the potential of becoming something quite special but then again I'm a sucker for sandbox-style games like this one and Forsaken Fortress.

First I'd heard of this.

They had an indiegogo campaign last year which only raised $23K of a $60K goal. I don't know how indiegogo works, does that mean they got $23K or $0?

Here's the game trailer.

Indiegogo is the same as Kickstarter, if you don't achieve the goal you get nothing.

After SotSII Kerberos burnt all bridges with me. Unless this game gets glowing reviews I won't be touching it, and I love roguelike games.

Your comment was about how PC gamers bitch, so you were agreeing with him on that point. You are claiming to disagree now, but you're switched to arguing about piracy, not bitching.

How much piracy is there on the Xbox and PS3 compared to the PC? I don't think he's blaming every PC user who wanted a port, he was just stating that many who want a port wouldn't pay for it. He's right.

I don't disagree with PC gamers bitching, because they are given more than enough reason to bitch of all gamers, and often said bitching usually ends up being about valid points. I disagree with his attitude, and share your opinion that his words were badly chosen.

As for piracy on consoles, games leak for consoles weeks, even months, ahead of release while on the PC it's becoming more usual for games to be cracked a day or two after release. But saying that an unreleased game would be massively pirated, as he and you are implying, is wrong, because you really have no idea of how much pirated copies will be made and how many people will buy after trying the pirated copy. Both him and you seem to fall on the fallacy of a pirated copy is a lost sale.

Also, piracy is inevitable. Bitching about it, as he was doing, is pointless. It will happen, regardless of platform. Maybe if he and publishers adopted the tactics of Notch of turning pirates to customers piracy would cease to be such a problem.

Remember that Ubisoft once said this about PC gamers.

In fairness, he's right - both about rampant piracy and that PC users bitch a lot. However, that's at best a stupid comment for someone representing Ubisoft. Even if he's not releasing a PC version, other Ubisoft studios were. He blamed it on his poor grasp of English but somehow I doubt he thought "bitch" meant "engage in respect debate".

But remember, PC gamers bitch a lot because they do have valid reasons to bitch, with publishers treating us as second or third class citizens. When you're treated like shit you tend to bitch a lot.

So you agree with him?

No. Not in the way he said since he is blaming everyone for piracy, including the people who would buy the game.

And I also would like to point that piracy is rampant regardless of platform.

It'll be hard to rinse away the bad taste the DRM and all their asinine statements about PC gaming and gamers. If they want to win my money back they'll have to try a lot harder than "Look! FC3 and AC3 were high quality for PC guyz!"

Amazingly enough the release of this mod on Steam just made ArmaII:CO shoot to the #3 place on the top sellers list.

And there's idiots who say mods don't sell games.

Also, ArmA3 announced as a Steam exclusive by Bohemiah.

Apparently, development costs of AAA games are going to rise even more.

If they do indeed rise even more then it all fits to what I said would happen right before publishers start crashing hard. The gaming industry cannot and will not be able to sustain bigger development costs.
