First impressions: Wow.

Second impressions: Fucking wow. And this is only an alpha. I think we potentially have a true classic here.

On the anniversary of D3 the alpha for what could perhaps become the best ARPG of all time comes out.

Oh sweet, sweet irony, how I love thee.

I haven't followed Eternal Darkness for a while, could someone explain what's up with this Dyack fellow?

Denis Dyack was the owner of Silicon Knights, the makers of games like Eternal Darkness and Too Human. Through mismanagement, arrogance and hubris he basically bankrupted what was a moderately successful developer. First he embarked on a mission to make Too Human for Microsoft Game Studios. After years of building hype it was at best an okay game but was long over due and over budget, Microsoft cancelled the rest of the trilogy. He also sued Epic for supposed breach of contract over the Unreal Engine. They famously lost that lawsuit and it was discovered they had implemented unlicensed UE code into their own offerings, the judge ordered older copies of their games recalled and destroyed. They did an awful job with XMen Destiny in the meantime.

Employees who worked there described a very disorganized and lazy work ethic combined with very hostile internal politics. Dyack would hear no wrong about Too Human and his other personal projects. He also took significant tax subsidies from the Canadian government despite knowing his studio was in significant financial difficulty and had few future prospects.

tl;dr - you do not want to give your money to any company with Dyack involved.

Ah thanks for the info. I wasn't going to give them anything, this only makes sure I'll remember that name if other projects come up.

Also, the KS is going at $38K.

In the meantime, here's a great KS project people should buy into.

Indeed. Not returning the donations if the goal isn't met is scummy.

From what little I can discern from that mess, you're ignoring whats already been posted and repeating yourself again so I'm done with this.

This is why most of the users here have him on the ignore. He repeats himself, makes no sense, uses no facts, has been caught lying and deceiving and has no grasp of logic.

The only place that's good for him is the ignore list.

Who is this Slick user who's been making most of his posts from his account in this comments thread here?

Someone who wants to be ignored...

Though he provides entertainment in watching how much deeper can he dig his own hole.

He and rollin should go start their own news site! I'm sure it'd be awesome...

Awesomely terrible! Then again, the schadenfreude that would come from it would be priceless.

May I remind the disingenuous that past Battlefield expansion packs actually included a lot more than 4 maps and some silly achievements and a couple of weapons and vehicles, with said vehicles being able to be used in all maps instead of only a select few? And that those expansion packs brought enough content to justify the pricetag, unlike, say, BF3's DLCs?

It's easy to talk about facts when selectively choosing only the ones to fit your views.

And Blue, please don't allow quotes from users on the ignore list to show up for those who put them on ignore.

Fun fact: both pie and cake are better than waffles. But not churro waffles.

Net revenue went up. Profits went way down.

And people say publisher's will be able to sustain itself for much longer. This is a fucked up business model that's already bringing the biggest down.

The only game I know does F2P damn well is Path of Exile. If all F2P adopted that model all would be good. Instead, PoE is an island in a sea of fucking freemium greed.
