19. Re: Endless Space 2 Announced Jan 14, 2016, 14:05 Bitterbug
If you do PVP then you'll wants a HOTAS and learn to fly without flight assist so you can keep up to the pro fighters.
But for PVE you can use an XBox controller with the advanced layout and almost never have to touch the keyboard. Instead the ABXY buttons become modifier keys for the DPAD. So hold X and you get one set of commands on the DPAD, hold Y and you get another set.
Also, pick up Voice Attack ($8) and either configure it yourself or spend the money on one of the HCS Voicepacks and get a fully configured voice control profile. The voice packs are absolutely worth it. Not only do they give you a ton of voice controls, they're professionally produced to feel like their part of the ship.
Gameplay-wise ED is still mostly a large sandbox, but they're creating an amazing framework as they go. Check out the Fuel Rats website before you go out and run out of gas on a trip. Knowing about them will save your life

News Comments > Elite Dangerous: Horizons Early Access
13. Re: Endless Space 2 Announced Dec 16, 2015, 00:28 Bitterbug
A couple of weeks ago you could pre-order Horizons with a discount if you owned the base game. It coincided with the Steam sale, so made scooping them both up a no-brainer.

For half the cost of a subscription based MMO you get an MMO that lets you decide whether you just want to play Solo, Play only with friends, or jump into the community populated area -- whichever suits your mood at any time.

I sure as heck don't have a problem paying the seasonal amount for Horizons with the current and planned features over the next year. Then the user discount will be available for the next season.

And my MMO fix will only cost me about 5 bucks a month. And I'm finding this a lot more fun than Eve. It's not flawless, and still needs some features like an in-game trade calucator (rather than third party), but solid and fun.

I was really excited to play this but lost a lot of that excitement when I did. The mech driving part felt fun, but playing with people was meh.
I only found one map fun to play on, and the others were too open. The strategy was "everyone zerg this guy, then we'll zerg that guy" and so on.
Maybe it's changed since but I wanted more out of the experience.

12. Re: Endless Space 2 Announced Nov 19, 2015, 23:12 Bitterbug
I've been mostly bug free, and only one crash to desktop (which was likely a hot GPU after 14 hours).

Sometimes when I come out of a workshop the axis on my movement is shifted 45 or 90 degrees. By jumping in and out of third person it fixes it.

My pipboy also becomes invisible occasionally, and can be fixed by doing the same first-to-3rd or vice versa.

I haven't seen some of the weird ones like the upside-down pipboy UI.

A couple of things I'd like to see:
The option to assign a person to the scrap table that you can craft who breaks down all that junk for you. (Currently if you don't break it all down manually, then it only uses what it needs from any given junk item)
A button assignment for moving a companion around, rather than the current method. I just want to be able to tap something while I'm looking at a point and have them go there. This would help with the roaming-idiot problem.

I bought Skyrim Legendary through them since it was cheaper than just upgrading my base Skyrim install, and got Fallout 4 at 22% off the based USD price. That saved me almost 20 dollars since the USD price was $60 and the CAD price was $80.
I even won Pillars of Eternity and Pixeljunk Monsters Ultimate through their contests (which they have a lot of).
The service is good and they have fun with their community.

On the other hand...
Reddit has misidentified bombing suspects, become home to all kinds of questionable groups, and is generally ranked only slightly above 4chan by me these days.

Most snakes I've had is 26.
Knew a fellow who averaged about 600 in his apartment, and at breeding time, 6000.
His super announced a surprise inspection during hatching season one year and he had to move the whole thing up two flights to a friends place
edit: typo fixed

There's two reasons you usually see guys standing around on jobs like that. Unions and safety protocols. I worked for a construction company putting new waters systems under the roads of an air force base one summer. There is absolutely no cross-task work allowed. If I was directing around a junction where the welders were working and they needed a pipe brought to them I would have been fired for picking it up, even if we had to wait 10 minutes for someone designated as a laborer to show up and carry it over. You get one warning when you're new.
The safety is the more reasonable. For some tasks if there's one guy working on something there's two standing by. Getting someone who has been rendered dead weight to safety is a lot of work. You may also need one person to hold the other back in order to prevent two casualties while they try to resolve the situation.

7. Re: Endless Space 2 Announced Jul 31, 2015, 21:31 Bitterbug
Playing the Cravers in Endless Space is an interesting change from a typical 4X game. They burn out their planets eventually so you have to keep pushing outward or die.
If Amplitude has learned from ES and EL then ES2 should be quite good.
A friend gave me GalCiv 3, and I couldn't get into it at first. Hopefully the patches will have improved the gameplay somewhat.
The Diplomacy AI was annoying as hell. On one turn a race would be sucking up to me, the next threatening me, and on the third suggesting we take out another. And it would continue like that all through the game.

This software is great. Small, and supports lots of formats. (Not just PDFs)
If it was a commercial product I'd buy it. But it's free.

Ricochet was part of the Half Life 2 pack years ago.
It came in at least the silver edition.

Good that it's amicable. Smart move too. Using an unoriginal turn of word like Wasteland as a trademark, defending it in court could mean the loss of the mark.
Using wasteland as a mark is as risky as using 'stump' or 'car'.

So for some people here it's "If you don't want to be harassed, don't be findable on the internet".

Must be the same people who believe that abstinence programs equal sex ed. That blame women who are attacked because they didn't dress conservative enough. And accuse people who are robbed of being irresponsible for leaving the house with things to steal.

Wow. There are some really clueless people here.
Imagine that some people dislike your post, because it's victim-blaming BS. So they find all your email addresses they can locate, they look up your LinkedIn profile, search for your home phone number, scrape your facebook page for the names of family members (and even though you had your security settings on, a change in policy left some of your posts public and you missed it).
Then those people start emailing you, people you know, your work, phoning, sending threats to you about your family or threatening your family directly. And you don't know which one is just an asshole or someone who is actually sick and dangerous.
And to see people justifying harassment of someone because a gun got nerfed? You shouldn't be allowed on the internet or to interact with other people.
As for the ages of the people who do it, the worst of the bunch don't seem to be minors. They're adults who feel justified and entitled in attacking others.

This sounds like Crush Deluxe. A game that came out around '97.
Blood bowl theme with various races, set in a dungeon with the ball hidden in a chest, and the other chests stunned you when you activated them.
There were racial perks, and I think teleporting but I'm not sure. Fun little game made by two brothers.

I'm thinking Dmitri's hit it on the nose.
Someone googled for tanks, got a bunch of cool reference images, and didn't have the sense to kit-bash various components from the source material, making direct clones instead.

This sounds like a mash-up of Blood Bowl and Knights. Knights is pretty fun, and you can download the remake of it for free. Just google 'knightsgame'. Has free online multiplayer and all. It's a bit antiquated, being a faithful remake of a 1994 game, but still fun.

Just because the guy is having fun with money he earned doesn't mean he's irresponsible. None of us have any idea what his plans are for the future. With that kind of money you could set aside a safety net for the rest of your life and still go on a spending frenzy in your youth that would provide memories for years to come. Meanwhile your investment manager protects you from going completely broke.

You should take her at least three times a week for one to two months. Start hitting the park at off hours when there's not a lot of dogs there and work up. If you find that she bonds with some of the dogs more quickly than others, ask the owners if you can take their dogs off to the side so the can play. After every positive interaction with other dogs, give her a treat.

How do you go about "making her aware"?

Reason i ask is I've got a shepherd who's fiercely loyal to us, the family. Whenever we take her and our other pup to the dog park, she growls and snaps at other dogs that approach us and try to be friendly.

If you're an Infocom fan, then check out Inform7, it's an engine for developing text adventures and it's amazing. *All* design is done by typing in plain English.

If you have a container that holds inventory you just define it by typing "Cardboard box is a container." And then you can lock it down or make it carryable, etc.

Now go forth and create!
