All of these improvements are very nice indeed, but none of them are going to bring me back into the game until the time I can once again roam null-sec with my pack of friends without having stupid "lolol hotdropped noobs" and other such shit that came with the introduction of capital ships. It completely threw the whole game out of balance.

Well, you're in luck, as next week's patch nerfs/fixes jumping with the long distance travel changes listed here... Eve - Phoebe

Basically, jump range limited to 5 LY for the majority of Capitals and ghastly cooldowns added to the jumpee ("jump fatigue"). Although, Capital ships will now be able to use gates in low and null.

I doubt you'll get hotdropped now - they'd have to be in-range and willing to use their cooldown on you.

News Comments > DICE: BF4 Launch "Absolutely" Damaged Player Trust
13. Re: DICE: BF4 Launch Oct 8, 2014, 10:23 Moog

What's the 'hacking' like in BF4 at this point?

Had to give up on BF3, despite really enjoying it, due to the muppets who would hack their client so they could sit at the spawn point and fire a full auto weapon through multiple walls and get automatic headshots

Despite many patches, they never stopped it happening, so uninstalled BF3.

Didn't touch BF4 at launch as I expected the same... so... is it?

Yup, very annoying... I've been caught out more than once by the tiny, out of the way "DRM" warning that Steam displays!

So I now use the Enhanced Steam addon in Firefox/Chrome... http://firefox.enhancedsteam.com/
which not only places the DRM display much more prominently towards the top of the page with a bright red background, so you can't miss it, but gives you some neat pricing info, too.

Here's what the Watch Dogs page looks like with it... http://s30.postimg.org/5zgd6fivl/Watch_Dogs.jpg

Well I thought I'd download it as they're giving away free stuff on Steam

running a special Steam offer for 3 days only, starting today. Every day from now until July 14 at 11:30pm PDT, you can download a free starter bundle

but I don't see them... the starter packs (Assault, Recon and Support) are all £6.99 on Steam!

It does specifically say "Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Phantoms - EU: Assault Starter Pack" on Steamn, so I wonder if this is some US only bullshit!

That looks better than Sniper Elite V2, which had very linear missions.

I just hope you really can explore and tackle objectives in any order.

Oh FFS!

All we needed was OMD3 (again, with co-op).

Playing OMD2 co-op has been one of my favourite gaming experiences of recent years!

Well I can try to speak for the overpriced part at least. There are much better PC games for a lot less. It's priced like a console game. New PC games of late seem to be selling best on Steam in the $30-$40 range. DayZ is a good example of that.
Dayz is only that price for its current Early Access release, it will be more expensive when it hits release (like they did with ARMA3, which started at £19.99 during Alpha and is now £35.99 at full release).

Also, your comparison fails as Titanfall is a polished, finished game whilst Dayz is a buggy, early access turd with very little game content (and, yes, I have hundreds of hours of Dayz MOD time under my belt but gave up on Dayz (for now) after 4 or 5h)!

Missed the headset query yesterday.

I've been using the Plantronics CS60 USB (wireless) for years now and find it very comfortable for long (8h+) sessions with glasses on.

I use the earloop, so they hook over an ear, but they come with an over-the-head fitting, too.

Excellent voice-comms quality and I have no problem hearing my PC speakers with it on, either.

If it broke tomorrow, I'd just go out and buy another one!

Can't find a Plantronics page with an image, so I guess it might be EOL but this is the product... http://tinyurl.com/p4jbz4b

If it is EOL, might be time to buy another one in case I've just jynxed mine!!!

Loved Blood Dragon but wasn't keen on FC3 itself.
Other way round for me - loved FC3 and played it through twice (probably the last game I actually finished, tbh) but just couldn't get into Blood Dragon

Fingers crossed that they don't screw up FC4!

The smart pistol is really stupid (thankfully its bad at killing pilots) and makes them look a bit foolish in talking tough on cheaters.

What a stupid comment!

What exactly is the correlation between an in-game weapon that everyone has access to (and is not the amazing killing machine that people go on about) and cheaters, ie. people using "aimbots and such".

Unfortunately SSDs are significantly more expensive per gig so needlessly huge games force us to either be more choosy about what we have installed at a given time, or force us to install them to slower spinny disk drives.

Or just install your games to a normal HD and then move your 'game de jour' over to the SSD and link to the SSD directory.

When you're done with that game, you don't need to uninstall, just move it back to your big (slower) hard drive.

So for Titanfall, I installed it to my 2TB D drive then moved the directory to my 60GB SSD and linked across with this command...

mklink /D "D:\Games\Titanfall" "F:\Titanfall"

in a few months, when I'm not playing Titanfall as much and something newer has come along, I'll just delete the link and move it back to my D drive to free up 50GB of SSD.
