There were aspects of HG:L I did enjoy so I'll try the beta. But I'm frankly not expecting much. Pretty sure it's F2P. |

| I'm trying it tomorrow (today now, I guess). I never played it the first time around, but I'm a sucker for any hack'n'slash with lots of loot. I don't like most of them, but I do try most of them. |

This is a good move on their part. While at this time the technology isn't quite there, it eventually will be (including U.S. bandwidth). It's not a bad idea in principle, although its current implementation leaves a lot to be desired. I don't use the service, nor do I have any desire to, as I have a pretty decent PC, but I can see how this type of service would be relevant in the future. IF everything was instant/high resolution/no different than an incredible local set up, and the cost of a sub would be a lot less than upgrading, I can see it working.
It's like (or rather, will EVENTUALLY be) streaming Netflix. Yeah, you're renting the movies. But it's so damn cheap and convenient that it's just worth it. It all depends on their pricing structure, and whether they can compete with ownership vs. rental. Capitalism will decide the end result. |

| I've been thinking about making chili recently and I've heard you had a good recipe. Could you throw me the link? Is it REALLY hot? I don't mind spicy, but I like flavor moreso. |

| Based upon how many stupid things Square Enix has done recently (FF 13/14), I'm inclinded to believe the GRIN makers. They seem to have become an incredibly inept, naive company. |

They've already stated that there's little doubt the game (Grim Dawn) will be released. They're not really looking for a publisher, they don't mind being indie. And if they do get an offer from a publisher, they said they want to retain a lot of rights. If it does well enough, there will be content patches and expansions, too.
EDIT: Actually just found this, posted today:
"Unless things change and we end up with some sort of funding, which we're not actively looking for at this time (deals we've explored in the past just had way too much rape), we might decide to go sort of "Minecraft style" with our initial releases. That is to say, we want to get something playable out as soon as we can that is fun to play but possibly very limited in terms of the amount of content and features. One idea we've discussed is releasing a sort of "survival mode" so that fans could experience the combat, character development, and item collection that exists currently while we continue to work on the quests / world / additional content and features.
I think being such a small team, it seems like it could work out well to just get something out to you guys and then work on continually expanding and improving it."

| I'll have to check out that Daggerdale. Will there be a demo for that? I'm really looking forward to Grim Dawn, Torchlight 2, and of course Diablo III, if I'm still alive. |

I think Rift is doing pretty well population-wise, it's just that players naturally move towards really populated servers, and over time this causes dead servers. Even WOW has some pretty dead servers, but it's not as much of a problem because they have cross server looking for group tool for dungeons. Rift has same server LFG tool (for now), but also Rift events require a decent population on that particular server. That's the crux of the problem.
So far the dev team has been pretty impressive both in the speed and content of the patches. Adding character transfers for free instead of charging for it (like most MMOs do) is pretty nice.
My girlfriend and I are on Faeblight (Guardian) which is a very populated RP server, so the only way the transfer will effect us is that I think we'll start to see queues because people flock to already well-populated servers. |

| Netflix is awesome. We stream more than we get mailed. I can't believe it's still so cheap for how much we get from it. I'm definitely on their side when it comes to ISPs being assholes. Definitely needs to be more open competition in the ISP market. They should be competing for unlimited caps at cheaper prices instead of limited caps at more expensive prices. |

I still really enjoy playing TF2 (usually play payload).
Hopefully we'll get to see the winning submissions, they should be pretty entertaining. Funny shit happens all the time in that game. |
