Let me add that most you you COD haters, hate COD becuase people like me OWN YOUR ASSES when you log onto the server. Reagle, why is it that in every single CoD-related thread, you proclaim how much ass you own? It almost makes you seem insecure about how much ass you actually own. I found the best CS players never talked about it. Just how much they loved the game. |

Don't forget the exit wounds were great in OFP:DR, all masked by a slew of consolitis gone very awry. If only ArmA had some good exit wound models to be placed like decals on dead soldiers that'd be sexy. |

ps. COD gamers must be dumb cos they will buy MW3 game that will use the same engine as the last and get the same multi-player and rave about it like it was something new. It's a demographic that sells sadly.
I always feel like those games have their host_timescale setting set to 1.5 at all times. At least since MW. Game is always playing way too fast.

I actually thought Crysis 1 was better. If it wasn't for the flying sperm shooting icicles, I would have enjoyed the game much more.
Warhead was better than the first game...had to suffer fewer of the sperm enemies.
Warhead was great fun! |

Spoken like a man who would have Caleb as his avatar :). I would have to agree with you. The cloth physics and cuttable nazi banners is always a plus. |

Seems to me like Volitions always making mediocre shooters with some sort of fantastic tech gimmick.
I think the first one's only wooing charm was the destroyable levels. maybe a 6/10 as a whole game though.
Guillermo Del Toro is a a pretty stellar film director though. |

Apparently it ruined everyone's fun but my own. "Stickybomb like a you!"
Did you have to play that on Kali / TEN?

You have plenty of titles to play before it's released to give you plenty time to wait for some actual reviews.
I'm guessing OnLive and its investors dropped a large sum to stir up more registrations to their site.
Yea I don't like it either, I can only imagine... Releasing a demo for Direct2Drive or to Rapidshare users only would literally make me rofl.

I knew/know people that still put a piece of tape with a dot on it in the center of their screen.....friggen weirdos.... Considering it was autoaim so long as you were relatively near center screen this was completely superfluous.
That said I used a ruler to find out exact center and memorized it. No tape, as it'd distract me. Just made sure my instincts were correct. dry erase markers did me wonders! |

I've found PCGamer's reviews pretty agreeable since good since 1995 or so.
Doom 3 94% PCGamer?
Dragon Age 2 94% PCGamer? Oh man, I think I'm gonna shoot my nuts out for that. Damnit PCG.
thnx for that nin.
Looks like PCG in 1995 is long gone. |

Beamer wrote on May 25, 2011, 15:58: Doom 3 also had a world premier review in PCG a full month before anyone got it, and it was a 6 or 10 page review. Warning signs were all over that.
But it was Doom, it was id, and I was bored, so I bought it launch week for $60. One of the worst games I've paid full price for. I think I'm a smarter consumer now about what makes for a good game.
But yeah, I don't tend to read many reviews, truth be told. I don't read any previews at all. Everything I grab I tend to get word-of-mouth.
I don't understand paying attention to previews, but I never have. All they do is make you all kinds of excited for features that aren't finished and will likely either be cut or never be finished. It raises your expectations through the roof. And the time spent reading them can be better spent playing something. Holy smokes I couldn't agree with you any more about any huge overblown previews!
Oh man, Did you play the Doom 3 Beta? I swear I enjoyed that so much more as an unfinished tech demo then the actual Doom 3 retail!
Almost feels like ID just makes games anymore to push the tech forward. Caramack's building rockets and getting into OpenGL vs Direct X debates at slashdot these days.
From the gameplay vid's i've seen of Rage, it looks like the bodies begin to fade out before the rag doll even reaches the ground when you blow up certain NPC's in the gameplay vid I saw.
Guns feel so weak when their bullet holes and destruction laid in their wake all fade out within 10 seconds of their deployment
