Just as much as Surgeon Simulator gets you a job as a surgeon.

For me, nothing still beats AA 1 and 2. There's just something about the original versions that were great. It just was a shame my net connection during those years was horrible. Now that it's good it seems I can't play the old AA any more.

AA 2.5 assist is your friend. Go download it off sourceforge.

Not nearly enough players but you get good times on the weekends and SF Hospital is still just as epic as it ever was.

I still love AA 2.8 before you had to zip-tie enemies and shoot with the wonky guns and sounds.

And you don't need to do any special forces training.

Whenever I chat games with friends they always bash AA, but I swear its got that visceral feel that the original rainbow six games had.

Blacklist doesn't have Michael Ironside voicing Sam for some stupid reason that gets blamed on performance capture. The new voice pales and they really should've just made the story revolve around another third echelon agent. Thank god for the summer sale.

It's funny that the Apple sheep aren't going to the Steve Jobs movie.

It's not hip enough.

Assuming most avid moviegoers are waiting for the Aaron Sorkin's version.

Like the facebook movie he will make up a bunch of shit but the movie will be very watchable.

No, it's not bad on the PC, but yeah, the game wasn't that good.

Agreed.

I personally enjoyed AC2 and Brotherhood aside from the general issues most gamers have ( guys standing there watching you kill their comrades ) among other things.

Jesper Kyd's soundtrack was fantastic though!

In mass production a lemon can result in a number of units having issues or a batch of units that can be sent out.

Another note: when the official apple forum post has around 4 pages that almost infers its not too many units affected.

Lemon. Bad Batch. Whatever you wanna call it.

I'm not discounting your roommates laptop issues, I'm just telling you I've seen multiple units from power users that have had no issues.

Time after time. "The Galaxy sucks my friends battery doesn't last long and its a known issue!" is garbage, they got a production level lemon. ( not a real issue well I'm sure but we know the phones are good and hundreds if not hundreds of thousands have no issues use them )

People don't post on forums about their computer working fine, they only post what isn't and therefore makes any way of discerning the truth harder.

You've taken a forum post of a minority and your roommates computer story and made a blanket statement about a device I have seen perform just fine under FAR MORE THAN normal usage and has been selling without much trouble.

If you know how bad Apple products can be at times, check out the posts that over 70+ pages of similar complaints. (sadly apple still wouldn't listen )

But in this case I remain entrenched in my opinion while I'm quite sure based on your OP you will remain deep in yours if not more entrenched as per usual.

My room mate has one of those new rmbp.... Biggest piece of trash ever. If they don't have ghosting issues with their screens then it's pixels dying. Six months and third one later... (here's one of many threads about the dead pixel issue that most media didn't want to acknowledge https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4224029?start=0&tstart=0 great they will replace it... For how long and if your not near an apple store the means every few months your laptop is gone for 2 or 3 weeks.

Wow, just a troll article in a lot of places. A big part of their score comes from their "reviews". Like those are never biased...
Display, again ghosting is horrible on a majority of the rmbp, the airs are running cheap tft panels (but this will tell you they are amazing none the less...)
Thunderbolt was considered an innovation? It's considered a flop by most everyone else, and was pretty much dropped by most everyone for the fact it's been a flop. Again, the retina screen isn't innovation if it's got such issues as ghosting and dead pixels again. It's more beta than anything.
Software being OSX, that's a hard argument since not everyone likes using osx even, one of the reasons of boot camp.

Some of the "scoring" has no reason being scored like the reviews part since someone's first impression means zero about the reality of a laptop, and others ignored facts that should be taken into consideration. Yet such is normal with sites like these nowadays.

I own one for music (logic pro) and the screen is still great, no problems and I also use it in Linux for GPU and CPU based fluid sims just about daily in Houdini and Naiad. 16 Gb's of ram getting rocked all day transferring sim frames that usually start at 2gb a frame.

aka

Your roomate has a lemon.

My buddy owns a fantastic Dell laptop and he has had no problems, but I've seen another friends mess up..

AKA

I disagree. Had win 8 on bootcamp but Linux handles higher DPI much better atm and Houdini flys in Linux compared to windows.

I guess I left that out due to this article : Here's the article

I could be wrong, it's not official. It certainly is seems more official than this "buy a 360" slughead.

Goes from one sinking ship to another. About as stupid ass a move as I can think of. Of course he is not that bright to start with and Zynga people are not much better.

He didn't have much choice in the matter, he was on the chopping block anyway.

Well according some articles... he was in negotiation for this move before Ballmer's "restructure", and Zynga favors him for a track record of turning companies around. Also, I guess even EA was considering him.

I tend to hope things were accelerated since his "get a 360" comment.

I really wanted to like Arma 2 but the "easy to ignore flaws" were sometimes gamebreaking bugs, like my friend's remapping of keys for his lefti-ness simply not working.

As much as I think the franchise has lots of potential, and was a massive fan of Flashpoint, after Arma and Arma 2 I think I'll wait for a demo before I risk money on this one.

Gamebreaking is relative to all players, so my bad. I assure you if you haven't played any Arma 3 yet its, so much better, the feel the sound the controls. So much better.

It doesn't play as smooth as polished AAA titles but those games usually suck most the time.

Was getting tired of all the shit talking with Arma 2 because of some easy to ignore flaws, when the fundamental game underneath is just sublime.

Andrew Reisse is a good example of why Police should not be involving themselves in high speed chases.

It's sad, but it happens. Typically the police, if the chase gets too dangerous, will back off, but if they're chasing felons they are going to keep going as long as they can.

I'd hate for the standard to become that any criminal can get away as soon as he breaks 80mph...

I hope they caught the bastards and put them on the electric chair.

Amazon is awful? I pay 80 bucks a year for free shipping, and I get free access to a metric hojillion movies and tv shows for free, which stream and play fine in primo quality. How is this awful?

While I don't argue Amazon is awful. ( I actually have both services and Hulu )

Every Rainbow Six game since raven shield has more or less been crap. Got some fun out of vegas 2's multiplayer on the steamsale but even then calling that a rainbow six game just salts the wound.

Never gonna forget that level where you have to send in both teams almost exactly at the same time across the map to prevent the water supply from being poisoned.

Okay, I'll bite. What do you think Gates is being naive about? Because frankly, while I can think of plenty of adjectives for Bill Gates, naive isn't one I would use.

His philanthropy. He is going about it the wrong way. He is pouring millions and millions of dollars into non-profit organizations that have been proven to be innefective, corrupt and inneficient. He should look to Elon Musk to see how its done for example. Invest in technology that will have a huge long term beneficial effect for humanity, renewable energy for one or something or other that is not really that profitable or is pushed under the rug by the oil/gas lobby.

Or if he wants to give to charity, he should concentrate on the charities that help people in the US (and I say this as a non US citizen). The US has a shitload of poverty related social problems, and the biggest of them has to be education. Its also much easier to track the money in that case and he could make sure that the money gets to those who need it the most. The most powerful country in the world should also be the best educated, this is the only way that real change can be made in the world. Throwing money at Africa wont change anything of significance.

Ding ding ding. Knowing you're a non American that says that scares me. I'm only a little shell shocked cus all of my VFX work is heading out the US mostly to Canadian studios
