Some people eat mcdonalds everyday and tell you that it's not that bad for them.

Same goes for John Caramack with his Call of Duty must be good "good" because everyone buys it.

Here a Blues News we know what intellectual flak we can run into.

No I was referring to Bill Roper. It was just another example of the consumer not giving second chances. That's why I think it's a good idea not to attach your name to projects and advertise yourself as much as your products. It's a two way street.

ho ho

How's it compare to Mount&Blade? That seems pretty good.

well can you cut off someones head and watch the body fall with physics and blood gushing from the neck and then kick the body with havoc physics off a seaside cliff?

Dark Messiah is miles ahead in getting the feel right. Maybe not story wise... or overall gameplay.. but Melee fighting is damn good.

The dual daggers, and sneaking up behind an enemy and jamming on into their neck and then instanly rotating the dagger for a kill cut then watching the other first person hand toss the body forward.

No, nothings come that close.

I always lol even at the new Skyrim stuff, it still doesn't compare to a sleek Source Engine system like Dark Messiahs.

So Viceral!!! First Person charging a left swing to chop off his head then kick the body off a cliff before the head lands.

Only Dark Messiah... for now

On Topic, I'm optimistic. I'd like to think Harvey may have learned something from DX2's asinine universal ammo system.

Beamer wrote on Jul 6, 2011, 15:15:
The leak isn't a complete build of the game or anything either, far from it.

Oh. That's different.
Leaks in which you can complete, even if buggy, typically damage sales. Yes, it raises pre-release hype, but much of that hype goes into the leaked version and not a paid version.

Let's be honest here - if the game is as good as all the people playing the leak say then it would have received the same positive word of mouth the week of launch that it did the week of leak.

I call it guerilla marketing of a demo, without the developers go ahead.

I'm completely buying this game after I messed with that build.

Beamer, some people are actually still arguing DNF is "one of the funnest games I've played in awhile" <-- clearly delusional and hopefully that reviewer will never ship any game.

and I see

"I don't have any of the problems other Brink users seem to be having" <-- nuts.

Word of mouth has been depreciated and nothing compares to me being able to play it first. Whether it be a Demo or a Leak.

Half Life 2 Leak only made me more excited for the retail game.

but... I am a minority though, or am I?

Oh man, these duke related news are getting old. Let's just get it over with, Where's the story where Duke Nukem Forever is nominated for game of the year at the Spike TV Video Game Awards show.

...with gaming experts like paid models who blurt out poorly written scripts and profess a love for something they spend no time doing.

Bring on more clearly bad things.

Get bent Splashdamage!

If splashdamage was smart they would have a free weekend of playing Brink or a free week, and make it so the game doesn't have latency issues when you're playing SINGLE PLAYER!!!!!!

It wasn't GPU or CPU lag at all, literally the other cpu bot players were lagging out and I was amazed.

worst pre-order mistake I've made yet.

Beamer wrote on Jun 22, 2011, 17:19:

There are numerous console games that allow for more than two weapons to be carried at the same time.

But switching between them rarely feels natural, which is why consoles stick with that. It's 100% due to input limitations, and due to some games actually being well designed around the mechanic (seriously, if you want to be realistic or strategic it can make sense.)

Turok did a fine job over 10 years ago, with over 10 weapons.

Red Dead does an even better job with terms of ease and speed.

Alas, the 2 weapon limit does work with Brother in Arms.

Gearbox just made a mistake implementing it in Duke. Esp when Jace Hall footage shows a Half Life eque weapons menu with all the weapons and it looks fine.

Full destruction? Huh? I don't think it's like Red Faction series... in terms of destruction but show me that I am wrong and I will acknowledge it.

I just presented that argument in another thread but apparently I was told there is a gameplay vid out there that shows full destruction.

Just about anything Tripwire is an instant buy! Love the ironsights, and scope possibility with the same gun. Love how this game is looking, and I loved the original when it was still a mod, before it won the "make something unreal" contest.

Yes, it is incredible, full destruction in UE3

You just proved me wrong AND made my day.

I love tripwire, esp after I realized they talk to their customers on the forums. +1

I hope it doesn't look super prefabbey, Bad company 2 came off that way at times, but then I guess theres no way around it.

Then again I haven't been following version 8 so for all I know it's gonna stink.

The whole touchscreen thing seems odd, as I really don't see those suddenly being sold with all new computers in the next few years. But it appears to be a app that runs on top of windows, like Media Center does now, and can be killed...

They're desperately trying to find some sort of identity in today's market. But all they're really doing is trying to keep up with the jonses, like they've been doing for the last decade (*cough*BALMER!*cough*).

Win8 is doing exactly what the new Lion for mac is doing.

They are all trying to unify the mobile phone os feeling with the desktop.

bleh.

I quickly removed Lion after I saw they literally just took the springboard from Iphone OS and then called it "Launchpad" and placed a magnified version on my desktop.
