Took the risk because everyone was saying GTA 4 was so much worse compared to SR3. Now i completely disagree with that crowd. This game felt far too hokey, the guns felt awful, the distorted bullet trail on guns and the sheer inability for this game to convey weight correctly made it even worse. i always hear the "cutscene, drive, then shoot.. Then cutscene complaint". Which can almost apply to a lot of great games so I ignore those comments. Also SR3 started to lose me at fighting the entire army and I'm gettin shot at from 60 people and the firefight feels like I'm playing that horrible rockstar game State of Emergency.
Yea gta was not optimized but when you take a 12 gauge to a drivers windshield it feels fucking cinematic. I'm sure saints row is fun but to me I like to be grounded in some millionth of a hit of realism. I still stand by gta and red dead redemption. If gta runs like max Payne 3 then the next game will rock.
Just saying I prefer a bit more realism and more of a simulation feel where saints row had a old school wacky video game feel. I'm sure of that's what you want, then SR3 is great.
Graphics are awesome and the engine is crisp though

Yeah the only people who think touch screen interfaces are conducive to productivity are apple fanboy tech "journalists" who don't actually do any real work dependent on computers. as a happy owner of a macbook pro I agree whole heartedly that touch screen needs to die on the power user end. |

I'd assume the settings are set above standard in order to help exaggerate the whats the physics are really doing to the model, where if it was as subtle as a pickup truck built in the 90's it might not sell what he's trying to advertise / exhibit here. Seeing the car have a bit of low gravity shows the system working better.
Imagine it's a game set in a scifi world etc, and a modder / dev wants to have an alien gun that melts a car down into some jello esque state / changes the car skin to a burnt texture this demo would sell me on how far it can be pushed. The game doesn't exist but this demo proves it can go that far.
Also in terms of connection failures on the softbody, I saw the mirror break off, and the front bumper become disconnected.
Really nice tech demo. |

He enjoys the game so he paid for it, but he wishes the maintenance and always online wasn't the case - not very complicated I think. Actually how did he enjoy the game before he played it? Maybe he started enjoying the game because he did pay 60 bucks and cognitive dissonance hits and resolves by telling himself he enjoys the game. Or you can say that he thought he would likely enjoy the game so he paid for it. There is more than 1 possibility. I have played it on an off since day 1 and I only got to act 4, haven't had a chance to beat it because of work. (14 hour to 16 hour days ) I really enjoy it so far, but I'm getting worried hearing about how ridiculous Inferno is. Along with not being able to play when I get home because of another random Update. |

Unable to resume my single player because I log in and it tells me the "servers are full" Which is apparently just maintenance, but the game says full...
Eat it all you diehard fans, this is bullshit as much as I enjoy this game. Along with Inferno being a testing ground for what to nerf, Blizzard sees if you can find a feasible way through it they will nerf those means / skills.

| I work in VFX, and on some film stuff and I can only say we use 4k textures for movies etc.. which would make these textures epic. 4K textures just loading into memory is quite a pain, can't imagine that on everything running in a game in real time. I hope so that would be nice, |

When will Nintendo get their head out their asses and sell some old titles for the iOS or Android....
People want better games on these mobile platforms and the sales show hardcore games sell well.

Now he's dead Apple is finally able to move on and this looks to be the first sign of such progress.
I don't see any advantage to Apple buying out Steam, as they could never kill off PC support without a huge backlash - that would destroy any value that the acquisition had. More likely we'll see Apple and Valve working together to increase the number of multi-platform titles, which would benefit both companies AND gamers. You may have forgot the part about the first Halo being demoed at macworld back in the day when Steve Jobs introduced a guy from bungie to show it off.... before MICROSOFT bought it.
Apple may be the easy target with their money right now but with the state of windows 8 and a new Xbox I assure you guys, Apple is the least of your worries, esp when you guys hate the company and don't own any of their computers anyways, it doesnt affect you.
Now Windows 8 on all your PC's that's something to scream about. |
