haha i remember spawn camping with the rail gun back in quake 2. i think i died 5 or 6 times in 3 seconds because whenever i died i always instinctively spammed the mouse to respawn as fast as possible, and i kept doing this just out of reflex... and proceeded to eat rail after rail. finally i willed my hands to not click right away, held down left strafe as i spawned, and pwned that fool with just the q2 pistol; possibly the weakest weapon ever implemented in any game.

Yeah, I always felt like this was possible in Q2. Usually spawn campers were no talent idiots, and you could find a way around it.

In MoH they were guys with sniper rifles 200 yards away, not someone 5 feet away.

Ugh I stopped when the last Medal of Honor game's multiplayer was a reskinned half ass bf3 frostbite engine derivative.

My last MOH purchase was airborne, which was awesome till all the scifi elements ruined it.

reveal your sources! I was dissapointed with the current integration and I'd love to see they upgraded it. All the E3 videos showing physics and trucks hitting boxes is really sad to watch.

It's like doing large particle simulations in Maya... its just sad, and they think its really good all the while it's the most garbage simulations ever.

San Andreas handled the feeling of a functioning world with its multiple cities / outdoor areas. +1 for GTA V's setting.

Nameless guy is way more charismatic then some of the other main characters and he doesn't even talk.

Without Doom I wouldn't have made maps and got into Arch Drawing in school, then quake engine+ with BSP mapping and me in InfiniD, Bryce, PovRay and 3D Studio, then Unreal and newer engines getting me into boolean modeling and maya based emitters, which got me more into Maya, which got me into Game FX / VFX.

Games have continuously inspired me and knowing I can exit out of Duke 3D and type "editart" and edit some textures quit out of that and in the same environment type "build e1m3.map" and go back into mapping.

I had to have loved these games before I ever wanted to work on them or make assets for them. Maybe in some rare cases I actually cared for the engine at release of the game due to shipping with the map editor ( first Serious Sam ) without caring so much about the actual title, but I still was vested in games already at that point.

If you want win 8, download classic shell, disable hot corners and you ALMOST will never even know you're using win 8. Who gives a flying fuck if you don't have metro tile support for your game, seriously nobody fucking cares about that shit unless your a 13 yr old girl or really desperately reaching out for anything to change UI wise.

Classic Shell, Win 8 with OG start menu. No change in my workflow.

once classic shell doesn't work... then I'm gonna bitch....

Windows 8 is palpable with Classic Shell and ALL that hotcorner bullshit disabled.

Aside from some minor issues, I get all the benefits and it still feels like windows 7.

PS: Fuck Metro. IOS or Android Store having limits is fine, these are mobile platforms mainly developed towards smartphones, there should be some level of barriers.

A Desktop OS shouldn't ever have that shit.

Really now, Parallels or Bootcamp are just so much better.

Time and time again OpenGL versions of these games always run drastically slower then being booted into Windows on the same computer.

Goofy yea. I felt like I was shooting airsoft guns.

I had to stop playing SR3 after early on. That game not taking itself seriously starts to bleed into gameplay mechanics and I just couldn't keep playing.

A shotgun to the windshield should result in lots of blood, glass, and the sound a carhorn followed by a car rolling off the side of the road.

First time I saw GTA IV's parallex mapped bullet decals +1 good day.

Can't wait for the next GTA, esp after Max Payne 3 showed the engine has had some optimizations.
