Hmmm, reviews are a mixed bag with this one. Not sure if I should get this game, better eval before a buy.
If you play it, your first though will probably be. WTF is this shit? And "Where is the dev team so I can punch them in the face!"

Don't listen to all the hate. The game is a lot of fun.

Traps no longer inflict injuries.

Seriously? Might as well just remove traps altogether then.

It was my understanding that you were only supposed to be injured when you died. Getting injured by traps in the middle of a fight sucked hard. Especially on Nightmare.

Its just as good an any other shooter out there, but its nothing special. The driving is a little wonky without using a controller. I'm not sure who stole from whom, but there was a few lines from the Evil Dead series in there. "Good, Bad, I'm the guy with the gun." "Hail to the King, baby."

I started playing this yesterday as it was on sale. Is there anyway to change the FOV? Its making me ill. I need to find a way to slow the camera down. It pans way too fast. I also need to find a way to move the camera back. It is way too close.

I also noticed a lot of audio sync issues in the cut scenes. Tons of graphical clipping in this game. The first time Geralt puts his boots on and his pants are sticking through...It was very distracting.

I don't know what's going on lately, but I think there are a few recent games that are slightly over rated. LA Noire for one. I'm not very far into this one yet, so I'll reserve judgement, but I'm certainly not gaga like a lot of people.

I knew something was wrong with silence. It never seemed to stop the current spell. Glad they fixed it.

Witcher 2 does not show as being on sale for either Steam or Direct2Drive.

There are some screenshots in this thread of other people complaining they don't see it either. Its for North America only.

I don't usually like Yahtzee, but I really wanted to see what he had to say about LA Noire. It was actually a good review.

The first game was really good. This one looks amazing. Catwoman sliding under the truck...I wonder if that was a real move or a cut scene. It was kind of hard to tell. Her character looks awesome. It will be fun to have two characters with different styles of fighting. How big is this game going to be? The city looks pretty large.

I tried to jump back into STO since all the "improvements." The ground combat is still so heinous I had to quit after a few days. How anyone can call that game fun, I don't know.

I've been playing Settlers 7 now for a year and have never had a single problem with the persistent online connection.

This is M&M. I am not passing on this no matter what.

And half the people who bitch about the DRM will buy it anyway...

So far I can't find anything out there that says either way what type of DRM it will have, if any. But since its Ubi I'm sure it will have something.

There is no way in hell you can make an MMO with 11 people! World of Warcraft has 140+ people on the project.

They are smoking crack if they think it's ever going to happen. Interplay is dead... has been for a long time.

Those who are left need to wake up to reality. You can't make MMO (4-5 year development time) with no money. Hell they can't continue a legal battle without money.

Actually, when WoW was being developed, there was only about 75 employees at Blizzard. They didn't bring any GM's on board until a month before launch. And about 30 of those employees were QA. Of course, since then the team has become quite large. I don't know how 7 people are going to make a game though. Alganon didn't have very many developers. They didn't even have an office. No one plays that game though, but you can see a lot can be done by a few people.

While it sucks, Gamestop is NOT the first retailer to do this. Direct 2 Drive/IGN use to have this as well before they quit doing it due to backlash.

I've been using Direct2Drive for well over 5 years, and I've always been able to download my games from them whenever I want. I never had a limit.

Am I interpreting this correctly? If you buy a game digitally from Gamerstop, you can only download it one time ever unless you buy insurance?

That is insane...

7.5/10 at most. The 9/10 ratings are ridiculous. People have been sheppified into "OMG Facial motion capturezor". If you like doing the same thing over and over 21 times for cases and 40 times for street crimes, then by all means, give it a 9.

I played with all assistance off and vibrations off, I found that helped quite a bit. I tried it first with everything on and found that it became a game of simon says instead of logically using your brain to assist in solving the case.

I turned those off straight away. I can't imagine when a real detective is at a crime scene his hands start to vibrate when he gets near a clue. I picked up a lot of bottles and cigarette butts and cigarette packs, but after a while you start to realize what is trash and what is evidence.

Search a body: head, arms, pockets. Oh look, another folded piece of paper or ID. They really should have done more with searching bodies, and every body you searched was the same tired, roll the body over and stand over it animation. And the variety of evidence was pretty weak too. I guess maybe that has to do with the era as they really had no forensics back then.

Locations for the most part were set in order in your notebook. They should have mixed it up a little. I found myself going out of order just for the hell of it. You are pretty much led by the hand on where to go. You don't even have to drive if you don't want to. I drove to every location myself, though. Got the 197.4 miles achievement on the last case.

Even with the hints off, it got easy. Even the facial recognition was easy. And kind of creepy because they had to act so over the top so you could tell the difference between doubt and lie. It was like looking at someone with facial ticks half the time lol.

I did have fun, but its way overrated.

Meh...I rented LA Noire from Gamefly. Finished it with 25 hours of gameplay. Its highly overrated. Same shit over and over. The story and graphics are amazing, but the shallow gameplay really takes away from the potential of this game. I had fun, I finished it, but I will not pay for any DLC.
