I was able to play without logging in, but seriously?
My Steam demo has a CD key. You have to go to the library and right click on the demo and get the key...like all other Steam games. Maybe you're not using Steam though. |

| Oh man, talk about bringing back memories. The US version was published by Virgin Interactive, who I was working for at the time. I got a call from a customer asking for help with the game "Zed." "I'm sorry sir, but we don't have a game called Zed." "Yes, you do, I just bought it, and I'm trying to get it to run." So after a few more questions it comes to light that he is calling from Canada and that is what they call the letter Z. I think that was the first person I had ever talked to from Canada at the time. Hell, I didn't know lol... |

7 hours straight my first session. Its definitely got that "just one more mission" feel to it. Tons of customization. Tons of different loot. You can play Tank, heals or DPS and each has all kinds of different ways of doing their jobs. You add "loot" parts in typical spore fashion. There are weapons, foot, hand, offense, defense, and accessory slots. Maybe one more. I'm tired and I'm going from memory. You collect "DNA" during missions to purchase upgrades such as more hero slots, squad slots, stat caps, unlocking higher missions. Its Spore meets Diablo. Its definitely an interesting twist. Not sure how long before I get bored. If you have Steam, its worth the free look anyway.
Oh, and you get more XP if you play multi-player, and the loot drops seem better a la Borderlands. |

I wonder if the leak of the consolised PC version caused people to NOT buy the game. I don't mean as in they pirated it and already played it, since it was in an unfinished state, but rather saw how un PC it was going to be and just passed. Or that it was short? |

You can usually see the game that is on sale in the top 10 best selling games in your steam client. F1 is not even in the top 10.

| I was really looking forward to F1 2010, but after reading all the complaints about the AI, I never did buy it. And now 2011 is already announced. Did they ever fix 2010? I only know one person who bought that game and as far as I know he never played it after day 1. I guess they sold enough to justify a sequel. |

Torchlight wasn't made by Blizzard. People are loyal to brands. It's like that line in Tommy Boy: Guy puts a fancy guarantee on a box 'cause he wants you to feel all warm and toasty inside. I know there are people who buy nothing but Madden or Final Fantasy games because that is what they are loyal to.
You are correct in stating that Torchlight wasn't made by Blizzard, but it was made by the same guys who made Diablo and Diablo II and the LOD expansion, Max and Eric Shaefer. Who were working on Diablo III when Blizzard closed the studio. So they went and formed Flagship with Bill Roper and made the FPS Diablo clone Hellgate London. Well after that tanked, they went and formed Runic, who made the Diablo clone Torchlight. They finally got it right by going back to their old formula. |

I loved the first movie. Its one of my favorite all time movies. But Troy Duffy is a one trick pony. That second movie is such a piece of shit its almost unwatchable. If you want to know what a true asshat he is, watch this movie.

| I know its only been two weeks, but the hype for this game certainly seems to have died down rather quickly. Is anyone still playing? I'll be very curious at the numbers after the free month is up. Until they get a trial, I can't justify the cost. |
