News Comments > Diablo III Hacking?
221. Re: Diablo III Hacking? May 22, 2012, 11:36 Dirwulf

Not sure if this one was posted yet.

While the authenticator isn't a 100% guarantee of account security, we have yet to investigate a compromise report in which an authenticator was attached beforehand.

We've been taking the situation extremely seriously from the start, and have done everything possible to verify how and in what circumstances these compromises are occurring. Despite the claims and theories being made, we have yet to find any situations in which a person's account was not compromised through traditional means of someone else logging into their account through the use of their password. While the authenticator isn't a 100% guarantee of account security, we have yet to investigate a compromise report in which an authenticator was attached beforehand.

If your account has been hacked, please view the previous post for information on contacting our support department.

Now you just have to figure out who is lying. I'm more inclined to believe it's the people who can't secure their accounts properly.

So they break up a game into 5 parts and charge $25 bucks for each? Hilarious. Of course the Walking Dead fan fools will eat this shit up.

Gamer hate is stupid. BofA is clearly worse than EA. I voted for BofA without hesitation.

I like World of Tanks.

I have yet to figure out what about it makes in an "MMO", though.

MMO...doesn't that mean Massively Multiplayer Online? It doesn't say RPG after it, or anything like that. So I think MMO is appropriate.

I've been using a 360 controller so far. There still isn't many people online at once, so it takes about 3-5 minutes to get into a match, but that's not really that long. I don't like the heavy fighter's very much. I feels like trying to fly a heavy tank lol. It's weird having bi-planes and jets in the same match.

Its very interesting looking at your post history. Almost all your comments are negative, or calling people morons.

I tried the demo--it is borked, bigtime, on my machine--refuses to play properly--for some strange reason. After I pick up the sword in the "dark as in I can't see a thing beginning" the graphics display heads south--really weird errors I haven't seen in a long while. Won't even be looking at this until I can navigate the demo. Lots of graphics errors--demo needs a patch it would seem.

Turn off the post processing option.

This is a great game!! The only fails I can find are the gamepad UI and the narrow FoV.

I play it with a gamepad, because it's a lot easier. It really is made to be played that way if you ask me. It's funny to me that people equate gamepad with console. I've always used gamepads of some type for sports games on PC. It makes me wonder sometime why games that need a joystick aren't considered console when the joystick basically got its start in arcades. And yes, the game is a ton of fun.

Oh, your precious Witcher 2 is going to be for sale on Origin. Now what? How could CD Projeckt sell out like that lolololol?

Oh, but if more of an audience is brought to that game, it can only be good for those indies, right?

But you'll still hate on Origin. Too funny.

I never quite understood Woody's character in Zombieland. Really? You're on a quest for a twinkie?

At least the kid was on a quest for pussy. That's a more understandable motivation.

I'm getting a little tired of previews that make excuses for the removal of the turn-based combat in Jagged Alliance. I don't care if it works well; this is not a goddamned remake if such a profound fundamental change is made to the gameplay ( I'd go so far as to say it isn't even JA at all without turn-based play). I loved Fallout 3 but to call it a "remake" of Fallout would be erroneous and asinine. Call me anal, but this shit pisses me off.

Not as pissed off as I get at spousal abuse or ethnic cleansing, but you know what I mean.

I'm not sure you think its what it is. Have you played Frozen Synapse? Its like that. Frozen Synapse doesn't use points like original JA, but its still turned based in a way.

The Starcraft 2 emulators, all two of them, suck, half the game is broken since they can barely keep up with the updates. The same thing will happen with any Diablo 3 emulators, and why would you hate on making real money in a game for selling your single player items? Some people are just stupid complainers who enjoy their mental masturbation more than the legitimate version of a game. And if you take offense to this statement, you are obviously the person I am describing.

While I agree completely, I hate p2p downloaders, and that it's default is on, but they are hardly being "sneaky".

WoW and SC2 are the same way, which means 10's of millions of people are fully aware of how the Blizzard uses a p2p downloader that is defaulted to on. It's only sharing while you are downloading.
If they weren't being sneaky they would provide an option during the install to enable or disable it. Even when installers try to change your default search engine - which is a sleazy business tactic - they provide a tick-box in the installer, which most people simply overlook anyway. Blizzard doesn't ask for permission to use your bandwidth, it just does it by default. It would be like buying a car and then they put a billboard up on your lawn because somewhere in the smallprint it said so - heck, even in that situation you'd know it was happening; the Blizzard downloader hides that it's uploading.

They are exploiting YOUR resources for THEIR commercial gain.

Every Blizzard downloader has had the ability to disable peer to peer downloading in the options. Whoever said it still uses peer to peer even when you uncheck the box is smoking crack. You can check the peer to peer info under the "Info" option. So far i have 0.00 KB on upload, and I'm using peer to peer. And not every installer has a checkbox to not install a stealth bar of some type. Starcraft did not have an open beta, and it sold just fine with a constant connection. Blizzard is as far from Ubi as you can get. They aren't using always on only as a form of DRM. They are using it for many different reasons.
