News Comments > 500 Developers on Call of Duty
1. Re: 500 Developers on Call of Duty Sep 6, 2011, 21:32 0001

Insane. I wonder how many people of those are really "working". Or if those numbers are accurate at all.

500 people * average developer salary * 12 Months = DEVELOPER COSTS per year.

30 Million per year or more? That much money for a game? Did I say insane?

A food sample is OFFERED for free, theft is TAKING something for free.

This is the right to do.

It doesn't matter if some people use piracy to "demo" a game or if they "use" piracy for something else but stealing the game.

If you want a game, buy it. You will not know if you like the game before paying for it. That's how it is for everything. To eat an apple, you have to pay for it and you won't know if it tastes good without paying.

Sucks for him, I guess. But why anyone would try to get into games these days is beyond me. A lot of competition, piracy, insane work hours...

I always wondered if it's possible to reuse the art of failed games for other games? I mean there were so many models & textures made for APB, can't they just make a quick action game or something with it?

Can't imagine that all the things created for this are just useless now. Just make a game with simple game logic like in the quake days and sell it.

Not true. Quake 4 was a great SP shooter and didn't sell. After a few patches it had the same features in MP that q3 had, but still was rejected by many.

There are tons of PC games that are good, but don't sell.

I think the voice acting is included. For all language versions.

I really doubt that this will create useful data. The outcome will just be a confusing mess.

How Epic managed to make UT III such a shitty game is still beyond me. The new gameplay was just garbage compared to the other UTs.

By far the worst game with "Unreal" in its title.
