I've been waiting for something like Jane's Fleet Command. I hope this ends up as good.

Does this expansion offer anything new for singleplayer gamers?

You can do the skirmishes as a single player, but they are intended as co-op. Download the demo and see if you like it; what it offers is what SP will be.

But the Gamer's Hell link calls it a SP demo. lol

Looking at a console game on a 52" TV reminds me of those old water paint coloring books where you just add water.

If I were you dude, I'd update your composite cables to component or HDMI cables. When I used to play NCAA football or Dead Rising, it looked nowhere near what you described.

Thanks for the tips, but I was actually making fun of the washed out textures on the consoles compared to my PC hooked up to the same tv. I sold my 3rd 360 before it gave a Red Ring of Death like the 1st 2 I had.

Oh, my bad. Sorry about that

On the one hand, it's nice to see this game hasn't been abandoned, but on the other hand, isn't it time for Ironclad to be working on SoaSE 2?

Also, I've never bothered to purchase Diplomacy, as my Empire is a staunch believer in genocide, so... hopefully the regular game/First Expansion getting the update also?

I would get Diplomacy. They did add additional features outside of the diplomatic victories.

"The problem we had was Freescape [sic] 2 didn’t sell as well…" He shares his theory that in the days following QUAKE, more players turned to mouse controls, and fewer owned joysticks, and says he "feels like there's an opportunity" to make a space sim for console controllers, but he has "no data to support that."

Wow, and there are tons of Eve Online subscribers. I think you should look at that market too, albeit it's not the same, but if you made it easier, it would most likely sell well. You better do it now before Braben makes Elite 3 and pulls in all those fans!

Wouldn't that be the NWN series?

OMG Europe gets a game first they must be shitting themselves with excitement. All I ever hear is "why the 3 day delay for Europe you horrible, horrible publishers!"

Well, now the US gets a 4 day delay... your moment has come, Europe.

I figured it would be later since Square Enix is an overseas publisher.

Yup, it's not going to be turn-based. In addition, you won't need to have line of sight in order to see enemies. It's starting to sound more like Commandos than Jagged Alliance, which isn't necessarily a bad thing if you enjoy Commandos. However, those who prefer turn-based tactical strategy will no doubt be disappointed.

OK, this incarnation is definitely going to suck now. Why can't we have turnbased?????

It will be interesting to see who the publisher for Sins Of A Solar Empire II will be. Did Stardock nail Ironclad down before all the poop hit the fan? Will Stardock be able to sign any new developers now they have shown twice in a row that they are apparently incompetent at project management and quality assurance?

I don't see how this has anything to do with publishing games. The fault here was with development, not publishing. They had two series wins with Galactic Civilizations and SoaSE, not to mention the desktop apps. I'm sure they will be fine down the road.

3171184 people have registered and 1000552 people bought the game

That is straight piracy right there, only 1/3 of everyone playing the game has paid you, they stole approx $50,000,000 USD ($25 x 2 million) from your pockets. Registered Users are pirates, don't think otherwise, that is straight fact right there. You don't even need evidence. They're stealing shit.

You need always on DRM to solve this problem. Use always on DRM and you instantly make $50,000,000 cause all those people will pay you.

Dude, have you even played the game? You need to log in to play and registered could be logging into the site. That means for the demo. This doesn't necessarily mean piracy.

I remember when people praised Stardock when Sins of A Solar Empire came out, I was one of those people. Back to Elemental, I don't think they are being greedy, they made a critical failure on initial release. I've heard they fixed a lot of issues.

There's a difference though, Stardock didn't develop SoaSE, Ironclad games did. Stardock developed and published Elemental.

M.U.D. TV (by the same developer) was not great, so we'll see.

See the evening preview from yesterday on it. The reviewer made a lot of comparisons to DK with some added innovation remarks. I'm hoping for the best
