KickStarter Fatigue is just a polite term you can use when your project fails, while all the other ones around you are getting X4 the initial asked amount.
It's pretty much like if your wife finds out how much you've been cheating, you get to come clean that you've been a 'Sex Addict' for years now, and need professional help. |

When Sierra On-Line closed its Oakhurst studio, THAT was the end of an era. When EA closed Origin Systems (and Westwood too) THAT was the end of an era.
This is just the end of APB. They judged the market poorly. Sometimes things turn out good, sometimes it’s a disaster.

I just don’t know how their going to handle the feeling of advancement you get with new loot. A large part of the MMO pull is people just love to collect loot. It’s an immediate way to see you character getting more powerful or looking cooler. And in WoW there’s so much neat and varied stuff, a sword, a staff, daggers, hammers, bows, crossbows, guns, etc. Each one doesn’t have to look more powerful that the previous, it just has to look neat and new.
What’s a jedi going to get for loot? All they wear and have are some robes and a lightsabre…..all the time. And the other classes…a new blaster, that looks pretty much like my last blaster. What’s the draw of a new lightsabre? A different color, a double bladed one, a lightdagger, and three section staff lightsabre? |

This is almost as bad as the emerging sex addiction epidemic.
If pretend or virtual violence leads to real world violence, then maybe pretend or virtual gluttony leads to obesity (Food Network). If that’s the case we need to get more of those Japanese sex games over here so that we can get the following theory proved.
Pretend or virtual sex leads to real world sex…………yes, let it sink in. |

This is great news. They didn’t discover a problem, they found a solution. This is the cure for any kid / young adult, with self-esteem issues, shyness, being picked on by bullies, etc.
If you know a boy who’s not shaping up to be a REAL MAN™, just plop him in front of the most violent video games you can find. He’ll soon learn that girls aren’t going to hit on themselves relentlessly for sex, that bullies aren’t going to shoot themselves in the face, and that
“It is a historical constant that the strong rule the weak, and any shade of liberty enjoyed by the weak is nothing more than the benevolence of the strong. You need guns because the world is full of the strong, and not all of them are benevolent.” |

Oh man, please let this not suck. The Warhammer fantasy and 40k universes are such great worlds/ideas/properties. So many cool and colorful heroes and stories and events. There was a whole art book called World of Warhammer (even before WoW) that was pretty much a encyclopedia of the warhammer fantasy world, but made great reading.
The problem with a game like this though, is it’s just so bleak and dark. A joe average player may think it would be awesome to play as a Space Marine or Necron or Tyranid, but all these units are just miniscule cogs in a massive war machine. The world may be to dark and depressing for it own good when it comes to mass market appeal. Say what you like about the cartoony looks of WoW, but its bright and colorful palette can really make for some beautiful views, even the dark and gloomy areas are at least dark and colorful.
Maybe they will let you be some kind of Space Marine free-agent or merc. The Eldar and Tau might be cheery and free willed enough for an individual to strike it out on their own. Another thing that I thought was a problem with WAR was it stayed too true to the source material. I know that the chaos mages are always suppose to be on those flying disks, but couldn’t they just bend that requirement a little, or just let you get off the disk. It was just kinda a oddball thing that they had to stick to.
WoW could at least bend the story to fit the mechanics of the game and vise versa. “We need horde pallys to even things out? No problem, lets just write up a little story arc here…….and done”. I don’t think Games Workshop if that flexable, they have great writers but I think they just wont compromise the story for the game. |

For another Fallout movie option, go hunt down a movie called 'City of Ember'. Not a bad little flick at all. Very similar to Fallout I, were the water chip breaks. In this movie it's the vaults power generator that is failing.
Just imagine that it takes place somewhere other than a Vault-Tec Vault. Maybe say in one of the canadian versions of the Vaults, and you would believe that this movie takes place in the Fallout world.
