This game is still around?

26. Re: Regarding Daggerfall... Aug 26, 2015, 15:57 ShakaUVM

I would like to know as well - Daggerfall is the best Elder Scrolls game ever, but I'll only buy it (by buying Redguard, which never used to work on my Cyrix processor) if I can just run it out of the box.

Compatibility is a massive issue for Daggerfall.

At least that's an option. When I first started playing Endless Space
I said Endless Legend, not Endless Space.

Endless Legend, when I played it a few months back, was pretty devoid of content, or real alternatives to conquest victories. (You basically had to be able to pull off a conquest to win the other ways anyway.)

Endless Legend was fun for one playthrough, but it has some pretty serious balance issues that simplify all those seeming options down into just steamrolling your opponents.

I'm going to grab it when the price comes down a little bit. It looks like it doesn't have content worth the $40/$60 price tag.

I just hope they rebalance the skills a bit. Some are super critical, some are super useless.

I think NDT should start by not making comments like "Interstellar was a scientifically accurate movie."

Wow: "Right-Wing Trolls Hijack SciFi Oscars."

Linking to Arthur Chu, who called a black woman "a shield" is really not the right person to quote to summarize the drama going on here. He's one of the very worst people in the whole debate.

The people nominated are across the political spectrum.

This looks like yet another pay to win bullshit mobile game no interest.

Rome 2 is now a great game, but it's fundamentally flawed - I conquered the entire Roman Empire using nothing more than two full stacks of levy spearmen.

I can't believe the hate for this game here.

Pillars of Eternity is awesome. I've been waiting for a decade for a good successor to BG2, and it's here.

Yeah, I can't lockpick now, and so I'm pissed about that, but seriously, people. It's a really good game.

This from a company that puts more restrictions on women ruling than in real life.

I was a beta tester for the first Everquest, and Smedley himself emailed me trying to work out a bug in their auto patcher. I don't get the hate for him. He seemed genuinely interested in figuring out what was going on and fixing it.

It's not on Steam.

I'm not saying that as my opinion - the developers have said that having it be an Origin exclusive severely limited their sales on PC.

Considering my purchase was supposed to come with the game soundtrack, it seems pretty shady they'd put half the games into a separate $$ DLC.

That said, I've been looking for the sheet music, and am happy about this.

"the RTS sequel"

Heh, no. EUIV is not an RTS. Rather the opposite. =)

News Comments > Dragon Age Inquisition Free & Paid DLC
15. Re: Dragon Age Inquisition Free & Paid DLC Dec 17, 2014, 23:38 ShakaUVM

To clarify errors above -

You get Tier 1 / 2 / 3 sets of the flame equipment plans at various points in the game. Only the main character can wear the armor, but anyone can use the weapons. I'm in the endgame, and still haven't found better Tier 3 plans for some of the equipment types.

Then again, I refuse to save scum, or treasure chest cheat, so if you're into all that you can certainly get all the Tier 3 plans which renders all the CE plans irrelevant. But trust me when I say it's really nice getting free plans for every type of weapon and armor when a new tier becomes available. It removes a lot of swinginess from the random loot roller.

I'm disappointed the first expansion is for multiplayer, as it's pretty terrible, IMO.

Considering DA:I can't even crack the top half of recently released PC games metacritic user scores, I can't see this. There's plenty of 2014 games that were superior.

Also, Bioware has been caught shilling their games before...
Considering they had hundreds of one star ratings before the game even came out, I wouldn't take metacritic too seriously.

(People were upset about the DRM in it.)

HL2 was a pretty mediocre game. It's a shooter that they tried to layer a physics puzzler on top of, with bad results both ways.

Plus, there's like a hundred miles of hovercrafting in that game.

Already bought. I always loved IWD more than BG. It was less about story and romance bullcrap and more about min/max'ing, fighting bosses and traveling through large dungeons full of traps.

Yep. In a lot of ways it was more fun. I hope the EE adds lots of new stuff. I pretty much did everything in IWD the first time around.
