I haven't felt addicted to a game as much as to Grimrock in a long, long while. Forgot how sweet the DM-type of gameplay is.

Can't wait for user content to start flooding. If they can recreate the Wizardrys, DM and the 3 EotBs then there will be enough gaming material here to last for several months.

Did you play Skyrim? Cause damn......

Not sure where you're going with this, but the 'content' for Skyrim hasn't been very ... content-y. Naked chics, armor for naked chics, over-sized naked chics, over-sized weapons, and a buttload of texture mods.

The few 'quest' mods I've tried were ok, some crash repeatedly.

Skyrim seems, to me, to be alot smaller than Oblivion was. With 2 playthroughs, one rogue/backstabber (who can barely kill a dragon) and one warrior 1h/shield, I've covered the map. Sure I may have missed a few pot holes of mobs...

Anyway I'm sure I'm not the only one who has been fairly disappointed at the Skyrim mods. I use both Nexus and Workshop to browse/add/play.
Two playthroughs? Good lord. You're obviously just blazing through without actually attempting to appreciate the game. You're not a completionist like I am. I think I'm about halfway through my FIRST playthrough, with about 200 hours sunk into it... And I'm still constantly finding new shit. Oblivion didn't keep my interest anywhere near as well as Skyrim does. I didn't even finish Oblivion.

Seriously? Fucking pointless to run that kind of a setup with just a meager 1080p. Why do people still use such low resolutions? You're not even pushing the limits of ONE of those cards at such a low res. Pointless.

0x10 is hexadecimal for 16.

The game will be called Sixteen Candles.

Sounds like great fun. *eyeroll*

and having to say "hey, hang on, guys, my PC is booting, we'll be playing in a few minutes" isn't very appealing.

That's such a dumb argument, I can't even believe you're making it. A decent SSD PC will boot to the desktop in 20-25 seconds. (I have a Sandforce 2 controller in it, and it coldboots to the desktop in 17 seconds flat.) By that time, you haven't even managed to get your PS3 logged in and moved over to the part in the menu where you can select what you want to do.

But hey, at least you can enjoy your minutes-long loading screens on the console.

Creston

Yeah, if I were to build a second PC just for playing the same games I prefer playing on consoles I'm not convinced I'd put an SSD in it. Why?

Money isn't the biggest factor to me, but it's hard to justify two extremely powerful PCs in my apartment. One is extremely powerful because I do some video from time to time but mostly am working with Excel and PowerPoint files >25MB, and the other would be extremely powerful so that I can play Prototype 2? Hardly. And what about when friends come over and want to play a Harmonix game?

Still baffles me that it baffles you guys that PCs aren't always the best option.

Uhm... No reason you can't have one machine that does all that. Seriously? You'd build one just for Excel? HAHA!! That costs about $200.

And honestly, with you being a console gamer, I'm skeptical about your definition of an "extremely powerful" PC.

Really? I can't imagine any industry giving someone a contract that said "You can't steal any of our ideas until such a time as you no longer work for us."

Yeah. I don't buy any of that. Sounds like a bunch of wishful thinking bullshit from a whiny fan to me.

Not me, still waiting for a good sale. And when it does go on sale, it will shoot way up again in the steam charts.

It's been $60 pretty much ever since it came out and it WAS at the top of the charts week after week, forever.

Nope. The world is too big to care. Every man for himself. The only people keeping this world "in check", are Christians. But once they're gone, the world will fall.

You're all just a name and number.

On the contrary. A vast portion of this world's problems are DUE to christians and other religious zealots. Once they die off, the world will be so much better without all the hatred, willful ignorance, and bigotry.

Politicians care about politics. It's their job on the line. They haven't cared about America for the past fifty years.

Just a bunch of old guys who don't understand anything, pointing at all the young whippersnappers going "look at these unruly punk kids with their loose morals! Let's pass some laws to make them boring like us!"

I assumed that is it, yes. Although once I got back, there were no credits, and I assumed they expected you to clean out your quest log, and keep exploring. Which is fine. I had a blast, and ended up at level 25 after about 80-85 hours.

I'll go back eventually, but after 2-3 hours a night for the past month, I'm ready for a little air.

Jesus christ. Is that all? Why do people like to blow through games like this? I doubt I'm even halfway through the main quest, level 44, and 196 hours played. I'm still constantly finding new things and discovering new quests.

It was twice the length of Portal 1 without even factoring in coop.

Felt WAY shorter to me. I beat it in like 5 hours, and that was with exploring.

What's the big deal with Portal 2? I thought it was "okay," but certainly not the best game. It was half the length of Portal 1, but I guess the puzzles were a little more fun. The slime things they introduced are a little cheesy though, I think.

I played it through once, then played maybe an hour of multiplayer. It certainly didn't impress me the way the first Portal did since it was such a novel concept.

And what the hell happened to the DLC they were gonna be doing for it?

Dear EA,

FIX YOUR FUCKING STEAMING PILE OF SHIT BEFORE TRYING TO ADD MORE SHIT TO THE PILE. EVEN FLIES CAN GET TOO MUCH SHIT.

Thank you.

Am I the only person who is a BF player since 42 that gets enjoyment out of BF3? I do only play in less populated servers, so maybe thats it.. but I swear the game is pretty fun, I can still C4 vehicles and it's not nearly as asinine as COD.

I'm not saying its perfect in balance esp with USAS frags, but honestly I hated playing in CS servers with banned AWPS, if a weapons unbalanced then let it be, it adds flavor. It's like paintballing and complaining that some kid has a really nice gun.

I was in no way referring to the gameplay. It is indeed fun, if you can get it working correctly.

I play on PC, and it's full of bugs. 90% of the time, on first launch, it will crash, and the server browser reports some random unknown error occurred. Okay, so I have to launch it again... And every time I launch it, I still have to click the game's icon from the fucking task bar to get it maximize. Why? Why doesn't it just launch fullscreen?

And why the fuck does the server browser need to be in my web browser? Why can't it work like Steam, where everything is fully-integrated?

I was playing yesterday, and I died right as I was being revived. When I respawn, I can only use my pistol, w doesn't work, nor does sprint, so I can't move forward, I can only walk backwards and side to side. At first, I thought my keyboard was fucking up, since it's a wireless keyboard, and I figured the battery was dying. But I also couldn't ironsight with my right mouse button. I died, and when I come back, everything's fine again. Fun bug, that.

There are other bugs that sometimes cause the game to crash, and it gives a weird error like "disconnected from EA" or "an error has occurred" ... yeah, no shit. The error is EA published this fucking steaming pile.

Sure, it's extremely fun once it starts working correctly, and I usually don't have issues once it does, but every bug this game has is a serious, game-breaking one. It's not like minor shit you can overlook like, oh look, that texture is flickering. No, they're really major bugs, and it's frustrating as all hell that EA is paying no attention to them, and instead releasing more pay to play garbage without fixing the main framework first. There is NO WAY they don't know about these issues, they just choose to ignore them because they don't care about the PC market.

I don't care what anyone says, this was a scumbag move from Bethesda.

And it was an even stupider move of Notch to even try and fight over this. The last thing he needs is an expensive legal battle (even if he's 100% in the right).

Not having the trademark means that anyone else can come up with a game called scrolls too if they like, so it would have been better to choose a name he could trademark.

And not only that, but trying to push yet another digital Collectible Card Game in an already saturated market, wasn't the best call either. He's spreading his company too thin with too many projects at once that aren't minecraft related (minecraft is a very successful IP for him, but if he doesn't exploit it, it doesn't do him much good in the future).

IANAL

Dude, you think he fucking cares? He's richer than God. Chump change to him.
