707... what the fuck? Oh Valve, you trolls. Okay maybe it IS the people who got the "golden" potatoes or something. Oh well, I didn't participate. But not that many who did are really getting in early in the first place. |

Percentage of what? Looks like that loading bar down below right? If you were paying attention to the numbers as they went up, it seemed to directly correlate to the bar's completion. Can't really tell, since the calculation seems to be done server-side, and dropped in via php or something, but I have my doubts about any of these wacky conspiracy theories around it.
edit - When it shot up, the timer also reduced quite a lot.
edit again - NEVERMIND... 351 shot my assumptions down. |

Dev wrote on Apr 18, 2011, 23:30: Valve is so obviously manipulating the numbers to get a midnight release lol. Valve is west coast, and there are still almost 4.5 hours left to midnight... So either it releases earlier than midnight, or the remaining potatoes do something to extend it or something. |

| Oh shit.. with the rate of consumption now at 11.6771584699 potatoes per second, the game will unlock (or at least the timer will run out) in less than 3 hours...! |

Unfortunately, the people who use them likely think the exact opposite and believe they are contributing in the smartest was possible and are setting new standards in communication.
Well, you're setting standards alright! In the same way Jar Jar set the bar for the Star Wars prequels. The problem is, I'm not sure which one will have a longer effect on us. LOL THAT WAS EPIC!

kxmode wrote on Dec 14, 2010, 00:07: Why do so many of you love this but there's no mention of Second Life? From my experience SL offers a lot of what MindCraft offers. And yes, I'm aware of the negative uses of SL. Still, for all intents and purposes it is an open sandbox platform where you can create anything you want. And it isn't pixelated. The ux on Second Life is ridiculously complex. I'd prefer to work with blocks and a 9x9 crafting bench. 3x3* |
