UT2004 was close to being the perfect multiplayer FPS.
It's just a pity it's been followed by 9 years of utter neglect from Epic of the PC as a platform. UT3 was a disappointing bastard riddled with consolitis.

The "indefinite suspension" thing is a bitch move. If they actually cancel the game, per the terms of their getting it from THQ, ownership rights revert. But if they just "suspend" it and never remove that suspension, they can stop anyone else from making the game.
Or so I have read. |

| Hrm, it's hard to be excited about this, I think Guild Wars 2 has a firm hold on the 3-faction RvR niche, I can't imagine wanting to go back to paying a subscription fee when GW2 is already paid for forever. |

| Good, they need a training area. I still sometimes can't discern a VS guy from an NC guy quick enough before he gets behind cover and starts shooting back. They have some real design issues in this game... for that matter, whose bright idea was it to make the three team colors red, blue and PURPLE? Wouldn't red, blue and GREEN have made more sense from a rapid identification standpoint? |

| This is a real bummer. I'm a huge fan of the first Supreme Commander and Demigod. I hope they can bounce back on this, but it is sounding like Chris Taylor put all his eggs in Wildman's basket. |

| There's exploits, and then there's exploits. I remember getting warnings in Everquest for "exploitation" when I found a place to stand that their piss-poor mob AI couldn't path to. That was bogus, a company using anti-cheating rhetoric to force their playerbase to pretend their game isn't a bug-riddled nightmare. This, however, I'm not so sure is in the same ballpark. |
