Well D2D has its fans in Europe, as it is very easy to switch to the UK Shop. Keep the usually low british prices in mind, add the current currency weakness, add the 20% sales and you have a sweet deal.
A lot of friends bought Shogun 2 that way. As that game uses Steamworks anyways, they get the best of 2 worlds.
I did it similarly for BC2 Vietnam. |

But the stuff about his PSN account is interesting, as he always denied it. If he created one nevertheless, he accepted the TOS and that could break his neck. |

I wonder what people would complain about, if consoles didn't exist and yet the successor of a cult game would fail to meet their expectations. Yes, consoles have limitations, but they ain't the cause of everything that is bad in this world. Movies might be a good example. If a successor or remake, those often fail to impress because someone simply makes dumb decisions. Why should game developers be smarter? |

Well, there are some differences. For one, there had been the tsunami in SE Asia and Katrina was on far smaller scale compared to that 2004 tsunami and also compared to Japan's misery now. And yet the US received some significant support, with further offers being refused (same the case for Japan right now). |

Whow, so many posts related to Germany and none of them is entirely correct. Well, I guess that is okay, assuming that most ain't Europeans, not to mention not Germans. Comparing NK to Germany is total bullshit. Germany had been one of the top 3 industrial nations, had a huge population (considering this era) and was top in science. Not to mention the military tradition, while the Koreans have what? The Korean War from the early 50s?
@ Cutter While you are correct that Hitler invested a lot into the military, he was nearwhere finished with his preparations. According to their initial plans, they would have needed about 10 more years.
They started the war earlier as they simply couldn't afford it any further, Germany was practically bankrupt. The war financed itself, they plundered what they conquered.
So Germany was no Superpower in 1939, their only real advantage was how they organized their war machine.
So back to Homefront - who cares about some made up stories? I guess the game has other issues, considering the ratings. Too sad that it failed and I'm once more happy that I didn't preorder. |

Prototype 2 - we don't show anything about the story or new game design twists we developed, because it won't be important. All we need is brainless destruction.
I'd rather pick another Zombie game. |

@ Dev Well that was exactly what I meant. I said that I tend to believe that the game ban was an unwanted mistake.
And yes, anyone can treat their own boards however they want. Thus I say that I would rather bother about their weak ability to withstand such pressure, than about the game ban. So I don't really understand what remains to be discussed?

I'd be more pissed about being banned for such simple shit as in that case. You realize that the above word is profanity and could have gotten you banned from playing a game you owned had you posted it on the EA/Bioware forums? Imho a developer has to accept a certain level of anger and bad mouthing from its customers. If players break rules and attack each other, ban the initiator. If the developer causes the mess with his product, show at least some style and don't ban left and right.
In this certain case, what was the profanity there? The usage of the word "devil"? I guess we could do a search on their forum, find this word often enough and I doubt that every user had been banned.
Edit: I just registered that the context of "Have you sold your souls to the EA devil?" is unknown. If he said it to other players, the ban seems legit. Less so if the target was Bioware. |

I can't say if RYG's accusation is correct. I'm not sure if I shall trust on EA's logic, but it would be rather dumb to use SecuROM under such circumstances. It is imho more likely that someone from RYG made a quick mistake rather than EA hoped that nobody would discover it.
I don't really care that much about the ban. It shouldn't happen, but it was for a limited time anyways. And as we didn't hear from more similar cases, why not trust them that it was a unique mistake? I'd be more pissed about being banned for such simple shit as in that case.
The most annoying part about DA2 is the game itself and we should focus on punishing Bioware/EA for that. |

OFC you could buy 2nd hand and get if for about £15 on a scratched up disc - or you could have bought it in the steam sale for 75% off ofc on the pc.
That a dodgy call really - £14.99 new, £15 second hand or if your timing is right £3.75 new.
Think I'll stick with slightly older PC games and crack them tbh!
* apologies for quoting prices in sterling but I simply can't be bothered to convert them - you get the picture anyway! Well I don't know where you buy your games. How can a game that isn't released yet, be sold out on the street already? If you talk about Arkham Asylum, check this or this I don't buy any used games and I don't waste money, I just know when and where to buy my games.

I'll do the same as with any GFWL-chained PC game that I want: buy it for my PS3. Yeah! That'll show those damn publishers! Err... wait... no it won't. All it'll do is reduce sales of the PC version and increase sales of a console version.
If you're going to boycott games that use GFWL, you need to boycott it on ALL platforms. Buying it for another platform doesn't accomplish anything because the publisher is still getting your money.
Duh, yes they'll get the message if their PC sales drop to nearly non-existent, while the versions not bound to that crap sell millions. Or did you miss how Ubisoft changed their Online-DRM politics lately? Already forgot how their PC share fell to a single digit percentage?
Funny, you have the best example that it works right in the front of your nose and yet you deny it. |

I also played all entries in Total War series, with Empire being the last one. After that desaster I ignored Napoleon and I still don't trust Shogun 2. Neither do I trust any reviews, as they all failed to point out all those negative aspects of Empire. At least they reported in german reviews that the AI once more leaves the cities and fortresses without defense - once again.
Nah, I really don't need to repeat the experience from Empire, when I started a game with Russia, gathered the existing units and went on to conquer half of Europe with them straight away. I'll wait till its ripe and offered in a promotion, I'm getting tired of the standard Total War recipe anyways. |

4 years passed and they recognize that we expect more on the PC ... whow.
And they get it wrong if they believe that they need some "blockbuster" games to make it a hit. First make the service attractive before you cause a loss of sales for games that are chained to that shit. Not that I would care for any of the 3 mentioned titles. |

The basic rule is that Ubisoft and Activision demand too high prices for their titles. And they barely have promotions and even if they do, they only get just 30% off. Not good enough to buy them.
Didn't PayPal introduce a new price model for microtransactions? Well anyways, the price can change a lot. I couldn't resist the Tropico Reloaded offer for about 3€ lately and I'd buy many more around that price. |
