I feel another Cryostasis infection. Runs excellent on NV but ATI is a total slide show.

Just tried this. It works pretty darn well! As someone on their forum already said, needs a way to reverse Y mouse axis and have lean spring back.

I don't understand the FEAR 2 hate. I thought it played almost exactly like the first. Heres some scary stuff, now heres some fighting so use your slow-mo, now heres some more scary stuff. The same weapons more or less, even. Better level design though. The performance was good, I ran into no bugs, etc.

I didn't notice anything particularly "consolized" about it. At least nothing more-so than the first game. Could someone explain to me all the "console" features? Because I clearly missed them.

This might help. Plus or minus, overall generally, these apply.....

Consolized:

*smallish levels or maps
*lowish FOV
*frequent loading times
*low res menus
*auto-aiming
*press X to fire rockets' or 'Y to duck' left in game
*large spread out hud/menus/interface
*step backwards caused by the limited power of the other platforms
*no mouse in menus
*simplistic and limiting ingame 'hot spot' action areas
*low poly maps
*goofy special efx to cover poor textures
*clumsy and frustrating user interfaces
*super-large fonts (used to be seen on televisions from afar)
*poor visual quality, characterized by low texture resolutions, low polygon counts by current generation standards, etc.
*poor control and sensitivity not optimized for the keyboard/mouse control scheme
*horrible handling of saving games, or limited save model
*lack of options (resolutions, audio settings, graphic quality, etc.)
*the inability to remap keys to certain actions
*platform-style gameplay suited for gamepads
*simplified game mechanics
*unoptimized performance not taking advantage of the latest PC technologies
*no support for mods, and no editors for customization

If THQ has the same amount of PC love put into these new PC games as they put towards the last 2 of these games, they might as well not even bother doing PC versions.

Both were horribly done on PC.

So considering what we got going from Fear1 -> Fear2, Fear3 ought to be similar to what most Wii games are like.

The PC version of SR2 is a far far far worse port than GTAIV.

Agree it's a horrible port but is much more fun and content rich. Maybe on my next PC upgrade I'll have enough power to run it well.

Lack of FSAA in GTA4 really ruined that game for me. That and it's iffy performance has caused me not to buy it. Here's hoping Mafia does PC games right.

Might of used it had there been one in my area. Not sure if it was better or worse deals than what GameStop provides?

Indeed. Not impressed at the visuals at all. Hate the new city setting also. It's no longer FarCry/Crysis to me now that the jungle/water is gone.

They killed my RPG with an FPS.

You mean TPS, third person shooter.

I too am disappointed in this game being simplified and less RPG. Don't we have enough shooters?

They should of improved and repaired the bad bits from ME1 instead of shamelessly removing them.

Maybe they'll even patch in FSAA. Hell, if the Stalker group can do it, surely Rockstar's fat pockets can program in some proper visuals for this day and age.

ME1 interested me if a bit clunky. ME2 is dumbed down and more Gears. ME3 will be a Wii game.

Nice. Looking forward to this one. Lack of a demo is a bummer though. Makes you wonder how confident they are in their game?

Will be interesting to see how all this pans out. There has not been a scheme yet that pirates can't crack, may take some time but it will happen.

Heck, GoGamer has it currently for $40. I think the game will be normally priced on release. This isn't a Modern Warfare 2 high demand game so I really doubt the $60 will stick anywhere.

So its $45 for the game and $7.50 for each DLC they are including in. Depending on the gameplay time of the DLC, the total package may be worth it. Not having a choice to include the DLC is another matter.
