I envision a console port designed around the Kinect. Pretty much everything but what PC fans want. Booooooo.

The first trailer had me psyched for this game. Everything I've seen since has me mostly disappointed in a Postal sort of way.

Why did I see Boiling Point when I watched the video?

Not much interesting in the video really, least in FC2 you could set and watch wild fires.

Would be nice if they do a full, proper PC port this time but I doubt they will.

I certainly did not expect this game to suffer from so much consolitus.

Seems the hardened Duke fanboys like the game, everyone else not.

From the screens and forums, this game looks to be horrible. If George and company did 90% of this, shame on them, Duke deserves so much better.

Still waiting for a confirmed working torrent.

Consolized or not.

I see people like you keep using that word, but that word does not mean what you think it means.

The game was developed on the PC for the PC. It. Is. Not. Consolized. *smacks descender*.

I disagree, it is consolized because it has tons of typical console traits. The whole game is designed with gamepad usage first, kb/mouse 2nd; huge no no on PC. Oh hell, I'll just quote Jerykk....

The Quick Time Events, radial menus, circular button prompts, scrolling text list inventory, paraphrased dialogue options without any numerical bindings and soft lock targeting system were all clearly designed with console ports in mind.

And the 16:10 issue which they didn't give a damn to even look at for TW2. It's still a good game but it is consolized.

Who the heck is buying this subscription service to keep it a float even this long? I would of thought it would already have gone the way of WebTV.

No surprise about Witcher 2 coming out on X360. The Quick Time Events, radial menus, circular button prompts, scrolling text list inventory, paraphrased dialogue options without any numerical bindings and soft lock targeting system were all clearly designed with console ports in mind. Still, I suspect they're going to have to reduce the texture resolution and full-screen effects quite a bit to get the game to fit within the X360's 512MB of memory.

Yup. Not sure I plan on buying or playing TW2 due to its console based designs. That shit don't fly with homey.

Forums are indeed a buzz from gamers with the leaked press beta and all of them have said nothing but positive things about it.

Very happy to hear this game looks to be a top notch hit and proper converted port on PC.

Impressed they listened and came up with a reasonable solution. Too bad I have no interest in this game type.

Man I hope so. Hope to have the Prat cam back too; driver expressions were great.

This mindless game is right up the alley of all the dumbed down masses of today. It like automatically caters to them, heh.

Hope they don't change a thing from the first and best, Carmageddon 1.

Glad Stainless is behind it and will be very interesting to see what the end product ends up being.

Unless they've been working on it a while now, sounds like it may be a smaller time more budget oriented title. Like 1 or 2 levels and few cars; with more to come as DLC. Sort of like how Live for Speed delivered their product.

Please just don't screw up the free flowing magic that was Carmageddon.

Looks similar to Xcom type gameplay in a simple Tron setting.

Very surprised there is no demo and thus keeps my interest from going much further than this sentence.

Yea, I have run into the same issues trying to reinstall and play both of them. I really wish someone would get ahold of them and make them compatible....

I've actually emailed GOG asking if they would or could please patch up then sell the old Carmageddons, this was their reply:

Hello,

I'm afraid that I can't comment on whether or not we'll be releasing certain titles. I can only assure you that we're doing everything possible to get our hands on the best good old games.

Unfortunately the process is very complex and difficult. Not all publishers wish to sell their back catalog, not all can be convinced that "no DRM" is a good idea, and sometimes it's just plain impossible to research who (if anyone) has the rights to a certain title. Getting an old game to work on modern systems often proves to be the easiest task.

Check out this Q/A video, featuring one of my superiors - Marcin Iwinski, for a first-hand view of how it works:

It does seem odd Rockstar is not interested in the PC platform any more. Perhaps by not as huge a margin, but I'm sure they realize there is extra money to be had on PC. Most all other companies create a PC version when they multi-platform.

Wonder what Rockstar's reasoning is?

Looking at the UI and hud of The Witcher 2, not exactly a big surprise they have a console version coming up so soon. But I'm betting it will be The Witcher 1 instead.
