And people wonder why developers don't make more games like this, when people refuse to even try new games in favor of playing 10 year old games.

As crappy or good as they may be, there's a reason why McDonald's burgers are always the same. You don't mess with a winning formula.

Yup, like the bastardized DNF I bought for $2.50, I'm waiting for RAGE to be $5 or less.

Yup, demo killed this game for me. It's just another knock off wanna be of JA. Hate the real time part of this game.

Give me my AP back in a true JA game, mmkthanksbye.

Will they patch in the option to change the FOV? Then maybe I'll buy it.

Also, if one does not like them, is it possible to forego ground missions altogether or are they required for advancement through the game?

No, they are required during the missions.

Jay wrote on Feb 2, 2012, 23:45:
Wait.
You can pause ground combat? How?

You can set a key bind to activate it or click the Pause Zone button on the right hand lower side of screen. Note, it has a limited time (38 sec in this pic) but recharges when out of Pause. You can give anyone way points and several different commands.

The patch is free, quit complaining and be grateful!! <sic>

I'm proud of myself for not buying or playing this game yet. RAGE will be a <$5 purchase from me some day; id earned every dollar of it.

2. Re: Star Trek Online Turns Two Feb 2, 2012, 21:24 Bumpy

Started playing this 2 weeks ago. I feel sorry for the early buyers being beta testers but this now is really a great game. So much stuff to do and manage is sweet.

I might be hooked on MMOs for the UI and HUD alone. So nice to not have consolitus in my PC game. DX11 is a nice touch too.

People complain about the ground combat but when you pause+plan its much more fun. Only thing I don't like is the battles are over pretty quickly.

For a Star Trek world, not sure I can ask for anything else.

I feel old. Mean while....

id certainly has not gotten better with age, RAGE needs major liposuction and texture facelifts.

Still waiting for the promised texture patch and SDK.

News Comments > Jagged Alliance: Back in Action Demo
12. Re: Jagged Alliance: Back in Action Demo Feb 1, 2012, 20:27 Bumpy

Finished the demo. It's fun but it's no JA that's for darn sure.

Hope the voices are place holders. <shudder>

I have a dozen complaints but by far the camera control ability and lack of FoW are the worst issues I have with the game. Hope these get a major overhaul or modded.

Will wait and see in a few months if this game improves with patches well enough to deem worthy a purchase.

Unfortunately, delays cause major lack of interest. Unfortunately my standards have now moved also. Unfortunately I will be expect a premiere, proper PC port with several enhanced graphics/textures and features utilizing PC's DX11 hardware.

They dramatically improved the interface, accessibility and aesthetics and yet people still moan. PC developers can't win. If you release a PC game afterwards, you get moaned at for releasing a console port; if you release the PC game a year before the console version... then it's still a console port.

No doubt it's improved for gamepad use and because of that, it suffers for mouse/kb use i.e. primary PC use.

No one is saying it's a console port. The complaint is, it is not a solely designed for PC game like TW1 was. Crysis 2, same disease.

Making a 1 size fits all product does not make it custom tailored.

But the Witcher is obviously designed with a mouse in mind.

No, it really wasn't. I'll just quote Jerykk from last June who wrote it well....

No surprise about Witcher 2 coming out on X360. The Quick Time Events, radial menus, circular button prompts, scrolling text list inventory, paraphrased dialogue options without any numerical bindings and soft lock targeting system were all clearly designed with console ports in mind. Still, I suspect they're going to have to reduce the texture resolution and full-screen effects quite a bit to get the game to fit within the X360's 512MB of memory.

I'm interested to know just exactly why the FoV issue keeps rearing it's ugly head time & time again this entire generation?

All the PC testers play with a gamepad 7 feet away on a couch.
