| Wow, I'm amazed that L4D - especially if they mean L4D2 - has sold more units on the 360 or PS3 vs. the PC. Combined, sure the consoles might have sold more, but separated? I find that difficult to believe after accounting for all the steam sales, mutations, and ongoing free DLC. |

Bats and I were talking about Arkham City the other night. $34 on GMG if you use the sale code. But still unknown if it's a Steam key, or from their own service. Also odd on GMG is it states Oct 21 as the release date, when it should be Oct 18.
That could be the Europe release date. GMG is located in the UK. |

Just like RTS and FPS games are best played on a PC, games like this are best played on a console, IMO. This game controls as well as any other FPS or 3rd person game with a mouse and keyboard. I completely respect and agree that racing games, fighting games, and many platform games are best played with a controller, but no way I'm ever playing a fpp or 3pp without a mouse. |

| GreenManGaming also lists Batman AA as not being able to be traded in, giving reason to believe it will be tied to some sort of client. Batman AA's publisher, Warner bros., used steamworks for it's last two PC releases (Bastion and FEAR 3) soooo..... |

Pop quiz: How do you kill the success of a new/ re-released title?
Answer: By releasing it exclusively on a service no one has heard of. |

I want it on Steam too, but apparently it was Steam who took it down because it didn't meet Valve's criteria. Yes I am aware that EA said this. However, I have a feeling that there is more to this than the simple "Valve kicked our game off Steam." |

| That doesn't sound too bad, really. I'm sure it will take longer for those who like doing side stuff, but 15 hours for the core game is decent. |

Creston wrote on Mar 31, 2011, 18:38: Well, all the worries I had about Gamestop buying Steam are still valid here. Watch for pre-order requirement horseshit or something to start hitting Impulse Real Soon(tm). I also can't wait for Gamestop's vaunted customer service to come calling.
At least they didn't buy Steam. As for their "We're uniquely positioned to be the leader in the digital gaming space": Har har har. That's a funny joke.
Creston I know gamestop makes a shitload of money, but they simply do not have the cash on hand to buy a privately held service like steam from Valve. I'm not even sure if there is a feasible dollar amount Valve would consider for selling steam. It's year-to-year growth since it started has been nearly exponential and there is no sign of that slowing down. |

| This game doesn't look too bad actually... if it can improve upon sid meier's pirates! (which was basically a collection of mini-games that I enjoyed) then it should be pretty fun. |

nin wrote on Mar 16, 2011, 10:32: The first game felt like the right length. The breadcrumbs from the story were spread well enough that, other than the Killer Croc level, I was never thinking "this is getting boring". I completely agree with the length of the first one. It was perfect. If Arkham City is more of an open world type game (like they are saying) than Arkham Asylum, and if it's of the same quality, then it has the leeway to be a little bit longer without feeling like it's dragging out. |

| This was the worst aspect of the game. But, in it's defense, it had excellent level design and was generally a very fun game. |
