Also worth a look is the tour through the offices complete with a lot of neat pictures and descriptions:
penny arcade tour

One caption in particular caught my eye:
A glance into one of the many Cabals that spring up. Any time a group of two or more people has an idea, they can move their desks to start their own Cabal in an empty room. As the project comes together, employees can join in and move their desks to that Cabal if they feel they can help out
Great for employees. Not as great for getting projects pushed out.

I honestly think that is because Gabe wants to nurture creativity over timelines.

Name one of us that wishes we didn't have that kind of freedom at one point or another...

For that, I applaud him (though, as a customer, I'm still screaming "WTF happened to Half-Life?" ).

That sound mod looks (err sounds) cool.

Yeah...I'm still on the fence. While the dungeons especially are missing sufficient sound ambiance this mod seems "too much".
You can always mod the mod. Or just not use it at all.

Anything that enhances the feeling of tension and vulnerability is a plus to me... So few games do a good job at creating that feeling in the gamer...

It looks like there's a 50mb limit for Skyrim, which is half that for the other games I have installed (except TF2 which has a gb).

I have 6 manual saves plus the 5 autosaves, which comes in at 118mb on my HDD but Steam Cloud reports 47mb used. Presumably it only backs up the most recent 5 or so saves.

Might want to bear that in mind especially if you have multiple characters on the go.

Good points.

ATM, I only have one character, but I know others that do multiples...

Clarifying my comment from earlier...

By saying: "Color me crazy, but this guy seems to be the GameDev equivalent to Kim Kardashian, well, minus the porn."

I mean that the guy has been given far more attention than he can handle, and, unfortunately for him, he rubs off as a bit of a pompus ass.

I doubt highly that he is that way in person, but, whomever said he should talk to an image consultant earlier? Yeah, you're dead to rights on that one.

^D^

PS: I imagine KK's vid got at least 5 million hits, so they really aren't all THAT far off from each other...

He's a guy, a gamer, who made a game that did really well. That's it. He's not a PR crafted celebrity spokesman, he's just a guy who does stuff and says stuff and shouldn't have to change the way he thinks or talks just because he's now got a large fan following. Why? Will society collapse if he doesn't get is act together? Will the impressionable kids start drinking and committing crimes?

With all the celebutards out there basking in the media eye, killing themselves with drugs or alchohol, snorting coke at parties, smoking crack, beating their girlfriends, being vulger, racist, demeaning towards women, perpetuating this terrible, terrible image of what "popular" means...people are going to get bent out of shape because this guy got a little fanboi about Psychonauts and commented about how cool it would be to take his unexpected wealth and helf fund a sequel?

Again, missing my point, and instead latching on to my tongue-in-cheek joke in the post-script...

How bad is the Consolitis?

How bad is the consolitis on a console-led game that started as an Xbox exclusive title...did you really ask that question?

Yes, I did. As many here have pointed out that Bioware ads PC-tailored UI to their PC ports. I'm wondering how good a job they did.

So, again, I'm asking, how bad is the Consolitis?

LOL the Cutter

People who care what Notch says 10,000+

People who care what Cutter says 10 (+ or - 9)

Problem here (and always as been) is that gaming is full of fanbois who see something said and take it as gosspil! Look at the the whole L4D/L4D2 thing and such. Too many people hear what they want to hear without things being totally confrimed. (someone says "I'm thinking about doing X" next thing people are doing the "have you heard, they are doing X"

The whole kickstart thing is heading for tears I'd say already - thought it might have had a few years run of good luck before the shit came on. It's starting to smell already.

Also, I call shit every time someone say "I'll give them x dollars" yesterday it was $100 for wasteland 2 by Beamer (sight unseen, no names attached, today -

TAKE MY MONEY!!! ($5)
..........
Take my fucking money. ($15-$20 I'd be comfortable with)

I call total lies on people stating this.

JUST PAY THE FUCKING MONEY AND DON'T POST CLAIMS THAT YOU ARE/WILL.

STOP USING MATH IN SENTENCES!

Cloud support? For Skyrim? How does that work? You can have gigs worth of saves at any given time. I'm guessing they only upload your latest save to the cloud?

Wish I knew. all they gave for an announcement was a brief tweet stating that they pushed an update adding cloud savegame support.

KK is famous for being famous. Notch is famous because he's an indie dev who made a fantastic game that's about to sell its 5 millionth copy. If you can't understand the difference then you have an extremely shallow view of the world.

I think you are totally missing my point.

That would be just awesome if SOPA 86'd a President's electibility.

Oh, and WOW:

Obama made a similar request last year, asking for $3 million for six new hires.

Who the Hell gets PAID that much? Good Lord, and they say Wall Steet is corrupt. Even with 100% overhead cost per position, that's $250K/year.

Technically, I don't think I can upgrade to Lion, even if I wanted to. I have a 2007 iMac... and I read somewhere something about Lion doesn't support the older Core 2 Duos. I'm pretty sure Mountain Lion will definitely out of reach. (Not that I care)

it supports all intel cpus, and you will need 2gb ram as well... it doesnt support PPC tho

i dont advise it.. 10.6 is still way better

I'll wait for OSX: Voltron Black Lion to come out.
