Yes and their new Tomb Raider games were vastly better than the originals. I liked Tomb Raider, hated everything else made, until Legend/Underworld/Anniversary came out, those were actually playable, and more akin to what Uncharted is (Though Uncharted is vastly superior)
I'm anxiously awaiting their reboot of Tomb Raider as the videos they showed last year at E3 looked really good, and I liked their remodeled younger Lara.
Though I agree, revisiting the Legacy of Kain in anyway, Soul Reaver or otherwise, would be great. |

He's right, he's just very snooty about it. Most headsets are extremely overpriced and offer very poor performance, the G930 is no different. Most people are happy to pay that price though because of the perception that more money automatically means better or because they fall for marketing buzzwords/features. Surround headsets are a good example and most gamer peripherals are poorly constructed, offer mediocre performance versus actual high end gear. Don't take my word for it either, ask some real audio professionals who rate these things or just crack open your own headset for a minute to see the parts inside.
A good set of cans (check out Audio Technica, Beyer or Sennheiser) and a mic taped to the side are going to be a pretty mind blowing improvement even for a non-audiophile. Of course many people will be happy with a gamer headset and there's nothing wrong with that, you can't miss what you haven't experienced after all. I looked at Audio Technica's and Sennheisers, I didn't like any of them and had clanmates who swore by their G930's. You, and him, can talk down about them all you want. But the fact of the matter is, it has nothing to do with "buzzwords". The surround works great, especially in games like BF3 and CS, where knowing where shit is coming from is a priority. And they sound amazing. So be a hater all you want. |

I don't know much about Star Wars lore so I would not know what is good or bad, I just feel that the world environments while looking great graphically are not as well put together as they could be. When your standing there you just don't get the full immersion, maybe some work on the sound department would fix that.
I would rather queue up for a group and do things in the world, like archeology or daily quests or tradeskills etc then sit there sitting spamming in general that I need a healer or DPS to finish a heroic quest or a flashpoint.
Also, disclaimer, I have not played any Bioware game before. This is the first bioware title I have played. I can't agree with your sound complaints either. Maybe it's because I have a high quality headset for my gaming (G930) but the game sounds fantastic to me. Tatooine had little ambient things like being able to hear sand people screaming off in the distance even when there was nothing else around. Most areas that have battles going on you can here orbital cannons or some other such things firing. I just can't agree. |

I don't get this feeling in SWTOR. lol you obviously haven't been to planets like Hoth or Belsavis, hell even the earlier Nar Shadda. Keep your "I barely played the game and saw Dromund Kass" opinions to yourself.
It's obvious great work and art went into the planets. It very much feels like Star Wars. Hell of a lot more interesting than half the zones in WoW.
Also the Agent storyline alone has been worth playing the game. And I am sure I'll put just as much time into the other storylines.
Personally I'd rather have to use general chat, and find people to group with for their Heroic 4 man quests, etc. Than sit in a fucking queue all day. That became my issue with WoW and with Rift. Queue, Queue, Queue. No exploration or wandering around the beautifully designed world involved. This is why I miss games like Everquest as well. |

I loved hacking things from under the enemy's nose but they nerfed the cloaking/hacking right before release so I never even bothered with playing it at retail.
I really don't see how they nerfed cloaking and hacking. I spent half my Planetside career hacking enemy tanks/Reavers and driving off with them. I just vaguely remember people getting all upset about not being able to see cloaked hackers, thought they did something to make them visible even while cloaked - maybe. It's been too long. The only thing they did was make it so if you sprinted you could see a faint outline of the person. As long as you stayed crouch or took your time you'd still stay invisible. The best was Hacking a Vanguard while the driver repaired it, watching the gunner get kicked out, jumping in the gun and shelling them both in the face. |

Traditionally I've given up on the MW games as soon as the first $15 map pack hits. I don't expect this game to be any different. I'm having a blast online still, really enjoying playing around with weapons, attachments and proficiencies to make the most effective setup, but when the community becomes fractured into those that pay for overpriced maps and those that don't I'll move to Skyrim, which I'll like more, anyway. Okay fine, they didn't charge PC players.
But what about all the PS3 players that sunk 50 bucks into Elite? And then they still go and release all the map packs for 360 before PS3. Seems a bit wrong to me. |

If I had to take a dump. And I was out of toilet paper, and the only thing to wipe my ass with was an Alan Wake disc.
I'd pull up my pants and deal with the streaks in my underwear later. Not touching it.

The fact that you people thing 60 dollars is to high a price baffles me. You'll pay 60 dollars for other games with no lasting appeal. But SWTOR at 60 bucks is "Too high" for you?
What? You don't think 8 KOTOR Quality storylines (If you play one of each character on each side) for the price of one game is enough for you? Coupled with the fact that it has PVP and Social interaction? Holy crap. I bet you are the same people that will shell out 60 bucks for fucking COD every year for a 5 hour storyline without batting a eye too.
Even if you don't plan on playing the game beyond finishing those 8 storylines. It's already exceeded the amount of play time that would be worth 60 bucks compared to most other games coming out. |

Flatout was one of my favorite racing games, it scratched that itch that hadn't been scratched since Destruction Derby on the PSOne. Flatout 2 was meh, seemed more interested in competeing with Burnout than sticking with what made the first game great Flatout 3 looks like Flatout Garbage. |

I played up until about a month ago. Because of their lack of a permanent solution to hackers it got old. They'd make this big deal out of dropping the banhammer every month and then those hackers would make other accounts to rage on. And it would be even worse than normal for about a week. Rinse repeat. They still haven't banned all the hackers, and it was down to about 4 of each district running per night (at least on Joker East) In other words only like maybe.... 400 people playing on the east coast at night maximum. |

FWIW, if the scale is the 11 integers between 0 and 10, I'd say about 1 out 11 should get a 10. Well, it's not, as most review sites use real numbers (ie, 9.5, etc).
The problem with giving a game a 10/10 is that there's no room for improvement. You can't give a game a 10.5/10. So once you've given a 10, you've basically said that the game is as good as a game is ever going to get. And that is highly unlikely.
For the same reason you'll almost never see a game get 0/10, almost no game should get a 10/10.
Disagreed. You aren't saying as good as its ever going to get. Reviews are a snapshot in time, and they're relative. Saying a game is as good as its ever going to get is absolutely stupid, but saying it's head and shoulders above its peers is not.
Take virtually any great game and advance it 5 years and its terrible. Take Doom. Doom was amazing at launch, and I would have had no problem giving it a 10 out of 10 then. But if released now it would be lucky to get a 2 out of 10. Autoaim? Please, thanks consolization! What's with the blocky graphics? Why do I have to keep criss-crossing the level, where they too lazy to create more content so they keep reusing this? Why can't I look up and down? Where's the plot, the story, or the characters? Monsters in closets, really? Sure, just keep spawning stuff behind me, that's not cheap. Why is the AI so dumb that it just stands there and shoots? What kind of idiotic space marine agency builds these terrible bases, was the architect on acid? What do these rooms even get used for? Why is this base built of so many separate buildings, all with lakes of acid? Where do the space marines eat or even poop? 2 out of 10!
Doom was a perfect game for its time. Doom II proved it could have gotten better. Quake proved it could still get better. I disagree wholeheartedly. Doom is a perfect game for ANY time. I still boot up jDoom when I get bored of everything else being released... except Skyrim. |

Has it gotten worse than that? ShowEQ wasn't even that easy, you had to have a second box running Linux to even do it. I did have a buddy who ran it, and it was neat to look at, but the only real advantage it gave you was allowing you to know if a Rare Spawn was up in the zone. Not exactly the greatest of advantages for what was required to run it. |
