10. Re: Morning Screenshots Feb 10, 2014, 11:02 GayBlade

The game looks good, but all it really entails is running around to waypoints and pushing the letter "E" over and over and over again. New quest? Run to this spot, push "E." Next quest? Run to this spot, push "E."

Your "E" key is going to need replacing if you play this game for any length of time. You've been warned.

What I hear from this announcement is that the latest list of EA server closures is nearing and SimCity is on the list.

Has anyone tried that new 4x Stardrive?

I've been playing Stardrive for the last few days. I am liking it better than Endless Space, but it's still quirky and in beta.

Endless Space is far more polished and balanced for now.

To me, Stardrive is more like Sins of a Solar Empire meets Galactic Civilizations 2. Endless Space is more like Sword of the Stars.

I really do love playing EVE, but I do not play anymore due to the $14.99 subscription model.

As the MMO industry has evolved away from charging subscriptions, I too have evolved in not wanting to pay for one.

If CCP would move to a free to play model, I would be back in a heartbeat.

So is most liberals view of reality and/or how economics actually work. But that generally doesn't stop them from spouting bullshit anyway.

Why is it that people who attack liberals always have the worst grammar?

Hmm closed beta...sounds like the final product with its current DRM schema. Closed to many, open to some.

I choose to believe the 49ers lost because they lost so many gay fans the the week before the Superbowl over some silly comments from their players. I might be a smidgen biased in that opinion of course!

The commercials sucked for the most part, but the game was fun to watch.

Cheers!

Concerning the flu...

I just wish we lived in a society where companies did not require employees to do two and three people's job so that folks had the time to take a break and rest when they are sick.

So many of us go to work sick because it's simply frowned upon to take off and the work is insurmountable even when you show up for work every day.

In America, we are working everyone to death.

My thoughts exactly. Go ahead and buy Sim City 5, and a few years down the line, you won't be able to play it.

While I am happy Linux users are getting some gaming love, I have to say, I installed Windows 8 over the weekend and I love it. Steam runs great on it (starts and ends faster than in my Windows 7 build) and all my games run perfectly.

In other news, without any extra virus or spam filtering software, Windows 8 has kept my machine clean even using IE10.

I think this whole Windows 8 is bad for gaming is much ado about nothing IMHO.

Cheers!

17. Re: Ships Ahoy - Elemental: Fallen Enchantress Oct 23, 2012, 16:56 GayBlade

Looks interesting, but Stardock still won't take my money. They banned me from making purchases from them. All I ever did was ask them to refund my purchases (Elemental and Demigod) per their own refund policy. Anyone who played either game at release knows what rubbish they were...certainly not the quality Stardock usually displayed (Gal Civ I and II and Sins of a Solar Empire).

In any event, I have to resort to less savory methods of acquiring their games these days. Such a shame really...I would have been glad to pay for SoaSE Rebellion and perhaps Fallen Enchantress.

Ah well.

I find it sad that Grimlock is such an amazing game and some of you didn't even think it was worth the already cheap 15 bucks. Shame.

I honestly did not know about this game until the sale. Just purchased it though...it looks awesome!

34. Re: Ships Ahoy - Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion Jun 14, 2012, 17:03 GayBlade

Just a follow-up to my correspondence with Blair, from Ironclad. I e-mailed him as he suggested, and true to his word, he contacted Stardock on my behalf. Very nice of him to do that.

Anyway, Stardock says they don't want my money because I returned "every game" I ever bought from them!! LOL. I made many purchases on Impulse over the years and only ever returned two games: Demigod and Elemental. Need I say more?

In any event, I used, not misused, their own return policies and they banned me from making any future purchases!!! Doh! There must be some fine print someplace I missed where if you ask them to honor their own policy they will refuse to take any future money from you

On well, as nin said, I suppose they are giving me permission to seek other, less savory methods of acquiring the game.

Stardock once blocked my account from making purchases after I asked for a refund for Elemental a while back. I tried to purchase Rebellion directly from them to get my $10 off (I already own SINS and all the expansions) and they still have my account blocked.

I suppose I shall I have to find other, less savory means to get my copy of Rebellion; Stardock does not appear to want my money.

That none of you left leaning folks care at all about how much money is being spent is flat out troubling. Someone has to eventually pay for it.

Dear Mr. Thundr,

My final contribution to this "conversation" is to quote Foster's Law: The only people who find what they are looking for in life are the fault finders.

Rather than sit and spew numbers and find fault with everything, I suggest you sit back and enjoy life a little. You might start by visiting a gaming news sight, read about and then perhaps discuss games.

If you cannot enjoy the gaming sight, perhaps you could take all the faults you find in society and get off your butt and do something about it. Action > words.

Wishing you a happy, fun-filled day,

GayBlade
