21. Re: More Arkham Knight Issues; GMG on Possible Refunds Jun 24, 2015, 20:52 Hellcinder

I've tried 3 separate times to play. the first time when it unlocked, stuttered with freezing like everyone else. I tried the next day and it was playable for a few minutes before the stutter came back. the third time, I tweaked the .ini files to remove the movies and add frame rates above 30 and it was ok for about 10 minutes before the stutter started. I wonder if this is a memory issue, but on top of that, my card is a 7990, a sli card 7970.

I guess the consolation prize is I bought a key from ebay for $24.

I hope the major mod builders pull their mods for Skyrim in response. I wonder if Beth/steam took the time to analyze the possible outcomes or maybe they know what they're doing and think this will force people away from Skyrim into Elder Scrolls Online, an inferior product. What deal cut behind the scenes could have made this go live?

It seems money grabs and excuses are leading the charge, but something's going to give soon. I think the cracks will go in the consumers favor soon. Look at recent titles such as Evolved and Battlefield: Hardline.

It sucks being a statistic in these ridiculous greed grabs.

News Comments > Elite: Dangerous Powerplay Update Next Month
38. Re: Elite: Dangerous Powerplay Update Next Month Apr 25, 2015, 03:16 Hellcinder

I purchased Elite a few weeks back and decided to splurge on a x-52 pro hotas off Newegg for $169, tax refund.

I love the immersion with the accelerator and the switches, but the mouse and keyboard works just as well. You can tweak all the settings to make it very controllable.

And if you really need the single player missions with more details, then yes you may find the game lacking.

Their window of opportunity closed already. It's the fixing the barn door after the horses have left. I remember when the Dungeons and Dragons movie came out. The people who made it had no idea what to do with it as well. In fact anyone who says they have no idea what to do with it should just walk away before they screw up their reputations.

Just don't do it.

I'm with you. I purchased a few games from EA's online systems and I can't play them anymore due to a hard drive failure and my ignorance in thinking they kept my information like steam does.

14. Re: Ships Ahoy - Homefront Mar 15, 2011, 13:25 Hellcinder

Paid $39.99 thru Directdrive a few weeks back and recieved Metro 2033 along with this price so a decent deal and I enjoyed Metro 2033.
Homefront so far has been good, the story really drives home the fact your a freedom fighter and the scenes of despair did leave a pit in my stomach so, for me, they did a great job on getting me into the story. A few issues with npc pathing, but no deal breakers so far. I'm on chapter 4, (I believe 8 or 9 in the game?) with about 3 hours of game play. Yes it's linear, but we don't need every game to be a sandbox game. ( Not a fan of Oblivion). I haven't touched multiplayer yet.

Game isn't close to 60 dollars and I know Newegg is selling for $49 console, $44 pc, but if your into just the single player aspect without Multi, I can see waiting a month or two just for a price reduction. That is me though and no matter how good a game is, I'm a miser on price and will wait for a deal.

Well, Saints Row 2 experience was less then stellar. I had the speed up issue, crashing problems and a couple of cut scene crashes and audio cut outs and then having them just up and not fix any of those issues I don't think I'll be giving this one a go.

22. Re: Activision Suing EA over West and Zampella Dec 22, 2010, 16:40 Hellcinder

Wow. First Activision wont publish Brutal Legend, then when Tim Schafer takes it to EA to publish Activision trys to cock block the game. Now Activision fires Iward employees for insubordination and is suing EA for taking them on? You can say that EA is the victim in this case, but its still like saying Darth kodicks ego was hurt cause Darth Maul had a double header saber and he didn't get to steal that idea first so hes suing them.

When things work well, people whine that your a monopoly. I prefer steam over anything else because when my hard drive goes tits up, I dont have to dig up my disks or my piece of paper from my direct to drive buy.
