I hope the heart & soul of this gameworld regain control over their creation & that the (critical I'm sure) facilitators don't just walk away with what promises to become a shuffling hollow thing without them.
As the games outlet matures, we surely need more honest, unfiltered games, free to delve into themes of philosophical orientation, culture perspectives, unafraid of ugly truths, rather than less of them.
Its not hard to see how more mainstream & safe proponents might have a problem with Disco Elysium's content, but realizing the potential for game media as a serious culture seems to me like its getting stymied here.
As far as I can tell by online presence, the ZA/UM has gotten moved from Estonia to London, where it is now no doubt being run by bobbies, using its "available positions" listing as a honeypot to entrap "toxic" digital artists, attracted by the gameworld's non-exclusion of drug thematic.
If Kurvitz got duped into signing something he shouldn't have, one can only hope the (supposedly) million+ words he poured into the game (& the accompanying book) ends up weighing in heavier.
