News Comments > Ken Levine's Sci-Fi PC Game Plans

Freedom Force is one of my favorite games, but with the popularity of comic book movies now I am sure a new FF would get ruined by somebody, somewhere along the line.

Anyway this sounds like it is so far out from an actual game, there's nothing to get worked up about... yet.

I must be getting old... I watched that Fantastic Four teaser, and all I could think was: who the hell are these children? (Of course certain actors I recognized, but the age relative to characters, ugh)

Sounds like my cunning plan of a buggy release, a quick price drop, and some patches is all coming together. *rubs hands together, chomps down on cigar*

Every video I see of this looks fucking amazing. Now the only question is, attempt patience, hold off and wait for patches and a sale, or jump in on or near release day?

ps. Loved Dead Island at first, got sick of the grind as the game went on(zombies respawning insanely fast)

Looks pretty good, but I'm behind enough on games that I'll probably let this get patched a bit and drop in price before I buy. I still need to finish up the first 2 games also

That's a shame, I was hoping G2A was just selling global keys at a discount. I think I've bought one game from them, oh well. No more.

*EDIT* Oh FUCK me, it was Wasteland 2... hopefully Valve/inXile don't get inspired to go after G2A by Ubisoft's move.

Although I already put like 110 hours into Wasteland 2, and finished it thoroughly... I was planning on playing it again in the future.

Hopefully that game fails utterly... if it somehow makes it into production/public use, it will easily be the most hacked game of all time, if real money is involved per kill.

On top of that, their demo video looks completely terrible, but it's probably alpha level footage or whatever.

News Comments > Gearbox Recruiting for "Next Borderlands"
16. Re: Gearbox Recruiting for Jan 26, 2015, 14:10 MoreLuckThanSkill

As others have said, Borderlands 3 would have to have some major improvements, especially on PC, for most people at this point.

1) Way more active skills, less boring percentage Skill Tree points.

2) More than 4 guns in usable slots.

3) Better Menus/Interface on PC, at the very least break that single queue list out sideways on bigger screens, fix the mouse interface that STILL sucked on BL2.

4) Modability would be nice, but probably won't happen. As in, supported modability, to allow more involved mods.

5) Less focus on forcing people to grind the same boss dozens/hundreds of times for a drop, it's obvious they drastically reduced drop rates in BL2 compared to BL1, no idea about the prequel. I'd say the game is unplayable(due to boring drops) in single player, without a drop adjustment mod.

6) or if they are afraid to raise drop rates, make usable guns more common, way, WAY less crap drops, please.

Funny how peps want to wait for this game to go on sale , but don't have nada problem putting 1000$ or more for a pixel ship in Star Citizen , Wall guess those peps are feeling important like " We made the game" jezz

To be fair, I don't think we have anybody who is into Star Citizen for nearly that much on Blues. Based on the last couple SC threads, we do have a small number of people who are in at the base level, whatever that was.

That archer is insane!

Yeah, that's the second or third video I've seen of that particular guy, he does some amazing things. Hopefully he is training people in his style, so that level of ability isn't lost, AGAIN.

Also, Navy Railguns, David Drake was right!

17. Re: Homeworld Remastered Collection Next Month Jan 26, 2015, 11:32 MoreLuckThanSkill

I loved the Homeworld series back in the day, played it far more than was probably healthy. This looks good, although I'll probably wait for a sale and/or a gog.com release.

I wonder if Homeworld Remastered still has the same mission flaws as vanilla, ie. recycle all ships at the end of a mission, next mission, very few enemy ships spawn, or vice versa, if you have a huge armada, you could get swamped instantly on some missions, namely ones toward the end where you warp in and your Mothership gets fired on within 15 seconds.

Regardless, the nostalgia is strong with this one.

Are you new to the internet? Everyone gets rape/death threats when they discuss their point of view on pretty much anything.

Even if this was true, which it emphatically isn't, surely that would be something that needs to be addressed? Why would widespread threats of death make threats of death acceptable to you? This sort of logic failure boggles the mind.

It's been pointed out repeatedly that very few people get the level and specific nature of the threats Sarkeesian and others have been receiving.

Anyway this horse is already beaten into a red paste, if you don't understand by now, you never will.

A measles outbreak in Disneyland, good work, anti-vaccination idiots. How embarassing, to humanity as a whole, that these CURED diseases are coming back so strongly now. It's going to take a bunch of kids getting paralyzed in the US by polio before this shit stops.

From the whining on blues lately you'd think straight white males were the victims.

How dare anybody complain about rape/death threats, or discuss their viewpoint on a video game!?!

A) We are the victims because we're all lumped in as everything that's wrong in the world when it's absolutely untrue. In spite of the fact that we're the ones who actually make the world a better place to live. And we have to deal with racism in the form of Affirmative Action, etc.

B) Faking rape/death threats for fun and profit is disgusting. If you actually believe for a second they're real I have a bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to sell you cheap.

Yes, it's a huge shame that no white males can get ahead in the world anywhere. <End Sarcasm> The world isn't perfect, but let's not pretend for a second you'd be better off in most circumstances being black or middle eastern, for example. People do love to feel persecuted though, that's pretty much universal. "I have it so tough because of X!"

Why do you think all the rape/death threats are fake? Seriously, consider what you are saying. Random youtube videos don't count as proof by the way. Is every single threat Sarkeesian or anybody else receives online 100% going to be carried out? Probably not, but you have no basis for saying they are all just empty threats. Get hundreds or thousands of threats a week, well good luck trying to separate the real ones from random idiots.

This game looks great, somewhere between X-Wing and Battlezone 2; I've had it in my Steam wishlist for awhile, since I heard about it in Early Access, I suppose I'll have to break down and get it now.

25% discount on Steam until the 27th, apparently. ($11.24)

*EDIT* Whoops, panbient beat me to the battlezone reference

Dammit Valve, how are people going to easily get their anime porn games with your crazy censorship!?

The classic American Sex/Violence double standard is alive and well.
