I still can't get Dungeon Keeper to run properly

What? In Windows 7/8? Both DK1 and DK2, from GoG, have worked for me in WinXP, 7, 8.1, although I skipped attempting them in windows 8.

Hope you have better luck with those, Dungeon Keeper series is amazing.

Steam sale starts tomorrow? dammit, I am just barely scraping by the GoG sale without buying everything there.

My Steam Wishlist is about 50 games deep at this point, it's not looking good.

More on topic, have they de-bugged A:CM yet enough to make it playable? Has anybody here actually bought/acquired that game?

News Comments > Diablo III 2.1.0 "Right Around the Corner"

About time they're adding season ladders. Now the big question is how long they'll last before being reset and whether or not each new season will offer a consistent number of new unique items.

This is sort of the problem I have with Patch 2.1, at least from what they've mentioned so far.

Starting over again in Diablo 3 is completely pointless, since you can change skills at the drop of the hat. Ladders in D2 existed mainly to try to combat duping, not because the leveling experience in D2 was great. In D3 there is even LESS of a reason to level another character of the same class.

So, they are going to bribe people with Ladder Exclusive legendaries. These legendaries will go into Non-Ladder after the season is over(however long seasons end up being) so Non-Ladder people are basically getting punished with a time delay for not starting over.

There is no way that I am going to make six new characters every season just to get a chance at new legendary drops, so I'll be stuck waiting.

Aside from the new legendaries, nothing in their ladder mechanic interests me in the slightest.

The dexterity to armor change(removal of Dodge mechanic, effectively) is really lazy design, in my opinion. There are years worth of well thought out posts on Dexterity changes on the forums, Blizzard could have come up with something better than this.

As it is right now, the game is going to be Dex = Armor = Strength =~ All Resist = Int, after patch 2.1.

At that point, they might as well just name Str/Dex/Int as Primary stat, and make gear swapping between characters way easier.

Or they could allow Dodge to do a Full Dodge(100% mitigation) or Partial Dodge (X% mitigation) for all damage sources, where X is your total dodge chance percentage. That took me all of 2 seconds to think up, and it'd probably take them less than a week to code.

Anyway, I'm interested in the final 2.1 patch notes, it may be a signal to take 2-6 months off, or whatever the season length ends up being.

I agree, this does look fun!

Also, if you didn't already get it, Shatter is a pretty good arkanoid-style game, with more control over the ball.

Hrm, Shatter doesn't look half bad either. Both games on my Wishlist, for the next steam sale.

This actually looks pretty good, in spite of the moderate Dubstep infection the game seems to have.

$6.99 base price for some Arkanoid-type action? I will probably buy it during the Steam Summer sale. Next week, right?

No one expects the qunari Inquisition!

Hrm am I going to have to finally break down and buy Dragon Age 2 on sale somewhere, so I can play DA:I? Waiting for reviews currently, but it at least SEEMS like it will be superior to DA2.

At best I may buy this game when it's an under 10 dollar Steam sale or something, so I am definitely not the target audience.

But holy SHIT, people need to stop throwing money at these guys. It's gone from hilarious to just plain embarrassing to the human race.

Wow, this looks gorgeous. I don't usually like driving games, let alone driving sims, but I kinda want to play this just from these clips.

Time to install Burnout Paradise (10 cent Origin purchase) to hold me over.

Ah, looking forward to the final release of this game, one of the few Kickstarter projects I backed.

I have no desire personally to play a beta for any RPG really, and I can't really see why people would pay that much to be in ANY beta, let alone one where you can ruin the experience for yourself so totally(story, mechanics, etc.)

News Comments > Diablo III to "Heal" Broken Achievements
17. Re: Diablo III to Jun 11, 2014, 18:48 MoreLuckThanSkill

Poor Diablo 3. The engine is so good, I would have loved to see a MedianXL type mod for this game, offline.

I still play a bit, but from what they are telling us about Seasons, that'll most likely be the final straw for me. No way do I have the patience to relevel 6 characters from scratch each season just to get legendaries, or wait 3-6 months to get those legendaries in non-Season.

More on topic, not really an achievement guy myself, but this kind of 'fix' really makes me curious as to the metric shit-ton of data the servers must compile on each played character/account. Some of these achievements have been broken since release.

19. Re: Alien Isolation Trailer Jun 11, 2014, 15:13 MoreLuckThanSkill

Looks pretty decent, graphically speaking, but I guess the survival/horror genre just doesn't do it for me anymore, fun wise.

I'd much rather have a pulse rifle than spend all my time running around hiding behind grates, or whatever the final gameplay is going to amount to.

Or a full on rpg, with squads of marines and some nice tactical combat options, or something.

It seems like survival games and survival horror games are becoming almost as common as zombie games at this point.

Oh well, still probably a Steam sale buy for me.

Probably a day 1 buy for me... now if I can only get my various gaming associates to play it for longer than five minutes this time around...

Magicka's magic system punishes the unworthy.

This looks really good, to be honest. I played through all of Dead Island, and that had worse mechanics than Dying Light seems to, so...

definite $9.99 purchase for me, probably not full price though.

People who think CoH2 is a good game need to play Men of War:Assault Squad 2. Now that's a real WWII rts.

Although I will admit, CoH2 has some nice graphics and excellent sound effects.

40. Re: butterfly in the sky, i can fly twice as high! May 29, 2014, 23:42 MoreLuckThanSkill

No interest in Battlefield Hardline.

I do still play BF4 occasionally however; Golmud Railway is still arguably the best map ever in any BF game.

Hopefully DICE follows through and continues to patch up BF4 in spite of their full-EA mode release nonsense.
