Finally! A game that supports the circle of 12 1080P monitors that I sit in the center of. I've been waiting for this.

Only 12? New to PC gaming, are you? I just traded in my 16 1080p monitors for 4 4k monitors! When are developers going to make a game that will take advantage of my hardware?

How annoying is it running Steam + Rockstar Social Club this time around? Last Rockstar game I had on PC was Max Payne 3, and I wasn't overly pleased with RSC, but it wasn't a deal breaker at the sale price I got MP3 for.

Pretty disappointed with a few people on friends/clan lists that got bots to run them to 70 in less then an hour. To reach his own I guess. Kinda defeats the point for me. Edit: To clarify, they weren't running bots, they joined games run by one that was running t6 rifts not very long after the season launched.

People joining games run by bots!? That brings a nostalgic tear to my eye for the old D2 days!

That said, I don't play seasons at all in D3, the identical leveling process = not my cup of tea.

I tried really hard to get into this but I found myself playing a lot more Diablo 3 in the long run. It's got a lot of the stuff I wanted from Diablo 3 but didn't get, but it also feels, I dunno, old school in a bad way? Clunky? I can't really put the feeling to words.

This about sums it up for me also. Path of Exile just kinda bores me, not sure if it's the skill system or just having the huge Passives tree shock wear off after awhile, I just don't really have a desire to continue any of my PoE characters.

News Comments > Trine 3 Trailer
2. Re: Trine 3 Trailer Apr 10, 2015, 18:45 MoreLuckThanSkill

Looks great... also looks a lot harder to control(possibly) than Trine 1 and 2.

Keyboard and Mouse might no longer do it for the Trine series, with all the 3d motion.

That Thief move with the rope at 5:00 or so, so sweet.

Each Trine game has looked an order of magnitude more gorgeous than the last... I wonder if these guys will ever go back and do some sort of higher-end Shadowgrounds game? I'd love to see that style of gameplay, updated, with their current art team.

I had no idea what this game is, but after reading on their wiki its supposed to be a throwback to Command and Conquer? Looks sort of that way.

Same, never heard of the earlier game, Act of War either, but this looks really good, in a classic C&C way.

Added to the wishlist!

*EDIT* Oh nice, Act of War Gold edition on gog.com, might buy it

What level is your barbarian? I tried playing one on path of the damned, and got killed on the second fight where you get ambushed by two bandits, hah!

Right now my main is a Cipher, and I love it. I am dual wielding, melee focused, with awesome spells on top. Don't know how it could get much better. Straight up fighter seems pretty awesome as well, and priest blows away druid and wizard, imho. Everything else is just flavor.

Druid and Wizard get very strong, honestly. It takes a more than a few levels though.

Only classes I am underwhelmed by so far are Paladin and Monk... Paladin auras are fairly low range without a lot of INT, and don't do much compared to Priest/Druid/Wizard/Cipher spells. Fighters are better tanks by far, on top of that. Monks... I feel they may need a fan patch, the whole taking wounds to use abilities isn't great. Still, my monk has just started practically, I may just wait until post patch 1.04 to finish that playthrough.

My Rogue, mostly ranged, some melee Estoc 2h work, is a beast. Even with nerfed Arbalests, he gibs people all the time. His game is pretty much over though, everybody is max level and I'm just finishing up side quests and bounties for the sake of OCD.

More on topic: even the current gog.com patch, v 1.0.3.530, is fully playable the whole way through the game. Steam seems to be ahead by a few hot fixes on top of that, before we even consider this beta 1.04 stuff. I'm looking forward to Steam beta testing the patches before they get to me on gog.

Looks very polished but hoard mode games don't do much for me.

They are definitely an acquired taste, and definitely better with people you know, rather than the random cesspool that public servers can be.

Haha, I'd question why these games are so popular, but I can see the zen-like appeal of just driving around without having to shoot 10,000 zombie nazi cyborgs or whatever every 5 seconds.

Sheesh, everybody knows those Backer NPCs are written by amateurs, let's not be too harsh, now shall we?

None of them were that terrible. Way too many Godlikes obviously, but hey, they helped fund the game. You don't need to read them, and if you want you can kill them for unique clothing.

No thanks, your "rules" are too generic at the moment and many of the mechanics flat-out suck, wonky, or useless.

Stick to improving the game, making it moddable, add a NwN-type toolset/dm stuff, etc then perhaps talk other crap.

Well, I do understand your sentiment, but if you read the news post again you'll see that it's "not us, another group" that's going to be doing the card game. The PoEt team is still on the patching and expansion, one can hope and assume.

Other information:

So, with the Kickstarter we announced that we were going to do an expansion, and so how we're approaching that is to actually do the expansion in two parts, and have one part out sooner than the other part. The idea being that people are really enjoying Pillars right now and they're going to get finished their first or second playthrough within in the next two weeks, a month, something like that. And so, we definitely want there to be content for them to enjoy and I think we're going to be talking about that pretty soon.

hrm, interesting. I assume the people who pre-ordered the Expansion, such as a few of us on Bluesnews, get both pieces, for the initial(and total) price? Hopefully so, otherwise that'll be very annoying.

Either I am getting old (doubtful) or this end-boss OR the companions have bad skill design. My mage to reiterate, has accuracy 86 and the enemy dude has defense 140 against magic.

Well, sorry to hear you are having trouble; I'm amazed you are at the end of the game at 46 hours! Also, you are getting older, every second of every day, in fact.

I am at like 60 hours already, just entered act 3. Steamrolling everything though, currently level 11. Have you beaten all of the Endless Paths yet? Because I'd hate to hear the game's end boss is harder than the EP end boss...wow.

Also yes, the NPCs aren't really min-maxed a whole lot, but there is a lot of +stat gear available to help even them out a bit.

I'm kinda looking forward to beating the Final Boss after reading your post, I'm somewhat ashamed to admit.

Well, the lockpick bug will make me wait to patch, but I'm on the gog version anyway. No patch yet anyway.

Wizards become per Encounter casters at level 9+, which is a little late in my opinion. Fights are pretty short for the most part, so Chanters barely get to cast their spells, Cipher gets to mind blade/Charm a couple times, but Aloth(Wizard NPC) is basically doing all the damage and CC now at level 11. Huge swap from early levels, in a good way. His spell recast time is low enough that he puts my Rogue to shame in AoE situations.

Mind Blades probably needs to be toned down, not sure I'd bother in Obsidians' shoes for a single player game though. It's literally the best Cipher spell to cast in about 90% of situations.

I'm going to go ahead and finish the game with the release version, pretty close as it is. I did experience the Main questline bug, where OCD completionist attempts to do every faction quest bugs out a dialogue option, but I was able to edit the conversation file and proceed.

Sorry to hear so many people aren't enjoying the combat; it's definitely a pause-order happy game though.

Pfft, more Batman/Daredevil-ish than Ghost Rider. His head wasn't on fire, at no point did he stop his bike and burn somebody's soul out with his gaze, etc.

"Arbalest damage has been lowered"

What! Hopefully not too low, Arbalest gibbing is the best ranged gibbing.

Good that fast melee weapons do more damage though, Daggers are basically useless currently, with the DR ranges.

Seems like a very good list, although I have to wonder if enemy NPC mind control abilities, and even friendly NPC mind control abilities(charm, dominate, etc.) are bugged. Resistance to those seems to be utterly ignored, unless the attack "misses." I have party members with 90+ Will who still get mind controlled immediately unless I surprise range attack kill those enemies on contact.

Party cipher mind control never seems to get resisted either.

Of course they added loot to the Fampyr boss after my Rogue was already past him

The next playthrough is looking good though, excellent work, Obsidian.
