3. WoW has gone console Feb 6, 2009, 11:34 joe

Haven't you noticed? Everything in WoW is consolized for the public at large now. WoW isn't a game for gamers anymore. It is The Sims in fantasy land.

No one ever uses crowd control anymore because you don't have to. Go in, DPS, all the mobs drop.

Does anyone die anymore? I hardly ever die. I play a mage like it is a tank. Stand toe to toe with some mob and still win even though the mage is a clothie.

I think Activision told them to widen the subscriber base. You do that by (1)removing anything from the game that requires thinking, like crowd control, (2)you make it impossible to die, and (3)you make lots of colorful stuff flash on the screen when the buttons are pressed.

I had to turn video effects all the way down because they are so consolized now I can't see anything on the screen.

I said WoW had jumped the shark before Wotlk. I was right. For gamers, WoW has jumped the shark. Blizzard probably has years of profits with the console simpletons, but for thinking people who want a challenge, WoW is ded.
