I don't use any other plugins Do you have any DNS settings in your router maybe? Your anti virus can also block some stuff on the site. I found when I've had the unblock.us DNS settings in my router I was having issues with some sites. Mhhh, as far as I know my router doesn't even have DNS settings that I can change, it's all auto configured via some magical voodoo from my ISP.
Considering other stores work fine I am gonna say that GMG needs to fix this on their end. It all started when they introduced this new checkout process, so I am gonna go for "it's a bug on their end" ;p |

SyFy will renew anything getting over 2 million viewers right now, no matter how bad it is (and yes, Defiance is pretty bad).
Mr. Tact wrote on May 11, 2013, 00:32: Even if Defiance is bad, you aren't much of a sci-fi fan if you are giving up on the show after only four episodes. On the contrary. A well seasoned sci-fi fan should be able to tell the difference between science fiction and a soap opera. Defiance may have guys in rubber masks, but it's definitely a soap opera. The difference is that Defiance can get really good, as soon as they stop dicking around in that 1 city and start exploring the world. Should they continue doing that in season 2 the show is dead. |

So i'm the only one for whome GMG hasn't worked for months now? It's stuck on checkout and never proceeds to payment options. It just refreshed the page when you press "continue" on the rewards page.
Well, they removed the forums and switched to a crappy alternative. They broke the checkout and I can't buy there anymore. So whatever.... GMG is dead to me Alternatives? |

Producing mediocre games and being the most anal company on the planet when it comes to DLC is what's bringing Capcom down, not the business model (although, I guess that is a business model too..) |

You can't stop technology progressing. Reality is if you wear it you are secure from idiots, because if they stop you and bother you their face is up on the web for everyone to see BEFORE they destroy the glasses.
In fact, as soon as there is some competition and the technology is more WI-FI and less phone dependent I am gonna get one
Sidenote: There is only one thing I hate more than invasion of my privacy (hence I am not getting google glasses ,p) and that's people condoning violence and vigilant justice.

That is a complete train wreck of usability nightmares, the fact that it doesn't have a FULL SCREEN CONTAINED GUI is the death sentence before any other consideration. Uh... GIMP has had a single-window UI mode since 2010 (beta), and fully released in May of 2012 (non-beta 2.8) GIMP Single Window Mode (2.7)
Youtube Video of GIMP 2.8
Not that it matters... it's still a clusterfuck compared to Photoshop.
That said... I may have to switch, because I refuse to rent software. Heh I never tried 2.8 so had no idea they FINALLY put that in stable...
But sidenote: The standard themes GIMP ships with are a complete disaster... and is there no way to get a 100% Photoshop UI ?
( Not touching "Gimpshop" which is Infested with scamware and crap)

Interesting thing to happen.. at least EA has big enough clout to MAYBE get a proper ruling regarding this.. given how fucked up the licensing business is with games..
But it gives me hope we may at one point see a futuristic realistic shooter. Fuck those gun companies and make something unique |

For me they never got there.. I assume it was kittens, that.. or a dragon.
But I dunno, for the "end of the world is upon us" the world looked pretty damn ignorant of anything. At least in Gothic 3 the world really was pretty damn apocalyptic and consistent with it's theme "Humans lost the war against Orks, deal with it".
I guess what bothered me the most about Skyrim was how completely stagnant the entire world was. Houses couldn't get destroyed, bridges not destroyed. Dragons couldn't melt stone... imo they just copped out before even starting to make the world believable.
These things are fuckin dragons, higher beings unleashed by the uber dragon himself.. and I get a quest to pick up some items from a store? Skyrim even more than Oblivion completely fucked it's main story up. The end of the world was upon us, except apart from the player nobody noticed!
Wee, what a believable and coherent world that was
I always hoped while playing that when the "final" rebel vs imperial battle happens, Alduin appears and just.. you know, wipes the entire city and both armies out. I can't believe they literally managed to make a story about dragons even MORE generic than i thought possible before...
Though I liked Skyrim, but it's world and story were not why... |

Pretty much why I always cringe whenever someone calls Skyrim an RPG. It is more an adventure exploration game. It certainly never manages to tell any kind of proper story Skyrim does have a storyline, and it isn't hard to follow. There is an actual enemy, unlike Oblivion where the "boss" is a fucking immortal daedric god. Yeah but did you at any point of the game ever felt like there is an actual urgency or point to your actions? I always just felt like it was a sandbox, optional story, nothing happening if you ignored it, stagnant world with nothing happening apart from the dragons at specific locations.
The entire world didn't even REACT to the dragons. Normal people would probably build some "Dragon Proof" defenses..... |

The War on Cancer A Progress Report for Skeptics

And it was only a year or so back that Harvard came out and said cancer is all but incurable with current technology and we likely wouldn't see any real in-roads for at least another century. I, for one, am at a loss as to your point here. Essentially, all that research money is spend on fixing a problem that can't be fixed, but that could be 99.99% prevented if research would focus on that. But there is no profit in preventing a deadly disease that makes a medical company $500k profit per patient (by selling drugs that prolong, instead of "cure"). Prolonging medical dependency without curing the illness is the wet dream of any drug manufacturer. |

Yeah, the guy that upgrades PhotoShop rarely for something like that, but $19.99 per month isn't terrible if you use it for business, and since we admit most of those people rarely upgrade, what is stopping them from continuing to use their old version?
Also, I agree with the "GIMP sucks" thought stream. I wanted PhotoShop just for simple cutting and pasting at work. Not enough to buy PhotoShop, but enough that I needed something better than posting screenshots into PowerPoint and cropping them. I tried GIMP. Man, GIMP is so painful to use.
Thankfully we eventually moved to Windows 7 and I could just use the genius Snip tool. Why did that take so long to come!? Gimp is painful, but Snip is too limited. For basic image manipulation, I recommend Picasa. It's free, it's easy to use, and it does most of the basics pretty well: cropping, contrast, auto "fixing" washed out or under saturated photos, red eye, etc. It also has a bunch of fun filters like sepia, B & W, etc. It's got facial recog so you can auto tag your photos. Check it out. I've been using it for years. I used to use Capture One on OSX along with Picasa, much faster and more streamlined for actual photo editing. Did i mention much faster? photoshop bridge is a massive mess of a program try working large format RAW or TIFF files with it. The thing is, Bridge interlinks extremely well with photoshop and other applications. To a point where ALL my work is based on dragging files to the applications I want, instead of using any save dialogs or load dialogs. You can "batch" images together with labels and instantly select them. That is one feature I can't miss and is why I am stuck with Bridge... on the other hand it is a really nice tool if you have a LOT of images... I think i have over 10000 texture source images and simply need SOLID label and "CONSTANT" preview functions. (Bridge creates thumbnails for every image, which is why first loading a directory can take ages.. but once that is done you can INSTANTLY browse huge libraries.
That said, I would never pay subscription for Photoshop, not even for Bridge. But nobody is forcing me to upgrade. |

Do they want to restrict how and what gameplay is recorded in games? It would not be outlandish a thing to consider. Lots of console devs are shaking in fear that anyone who can use youtube can literally watch a console game playthrough anywhere. I watched plenty of story games that are console only on youtube and would never consider buying a console (or these games).
Was only a question of time till they deadlock/restrict recordings. |
