I guess humans will accept anything as long as they are gradually conditioned into it. Wise choice Blizzard. I recommend next time you have an evil masterplan to not even announce it. Just do it, slowly, covertly.

that's exactly what's going to happen. Blizzard's backpedaling is a tactical move, they want to sell loads of games first, then start charging for battle.net and: Real ID will be back eventually.

If I meet someone in real life and exchange names, it is MY CHOICE to exchange names. I know that with exchanging my name the guy or girl will probably look me up on Facebook and know 50 times as much about me than when we met. I don't care.

yeah, if you think about what you just said one more time then you should know how dangerous Facebook in its current state and form is. Not every person you meet is your friend. "Oh let's look up the files of the guy I just met - everything is there for the taking anyway".

Eldaron Imotholin wrote on Jul 9, 2010, 21:50:
WHY did having to post something on a forum have to be similar to the above mentioned choice?

this has been covered in a different post. And, frankly, it's Blizzard's forum, they make the rules there (as does Mr. Zuckerberg at Facebook by the way). Lucky you, they still can't force you to register or post, in both instances.

I'm sure you'll be happy to post your name here then.

nah, why should I do that... I have neither a facebook account nor do I post or follow anyone on twitter. And I couldn't care less about Blizzard.

what's all the fuss about anyway? People upload their lives to facebook, they post what they do/n't, say, think on twitter, and when Blizzard introduces Real ID everybody's crying....

that's exactly what happened. And what did the tax payers do about it? Nothing.

what would you expect them to do? march out into the streets with torches and pitchforks?

oh i know - they should write their congressman.. yeh thats it

march out into the streets, yes. Save torches and pitchforks for later if needed. Let's not underestimate the power of the people, OK?

I like how everybody is blaming Apple for those "reception issues" while it's absolutely obvious that it's not Apple's fault, but AT&T's. Do some research, ask people in other parts of the world - same phone, different carrier, no reception issues whatsoever. Face it: AT&T's network is garbage and the only cause for the problem. And Apple can only solve it by dumping AT&T, period.

has GTA 4 been decrapified (no goddamn DRM except the steam one and are those like 27 required registrations/accounts gone)? $5 Sounds like a steal but I can wait longer if they force me to.

* Facebook serves 570 billion page views per month (according to Google Ad Planner).
* There are more photos on Facebook than all other photo sites combined (including sites like Flickr).
* More than 3 billion photos are uploaded every month.
* Facebook’s systems serve 1.2 million photos per second. This doesn’t include the images served by Facebook’s CDN.
* More than 25 billion pieces of content (status updates, comments, etc) are shared every month.
* Facebook has more than 30,000 servers (and this number is from last year!)

now let's imagine how much faster the whole world wide web would be without all the junk that's being sent and received by all those facebook servers...
One third of all the spam I'm getting on my .edu email account are invitations to join the facebook army - from people I've never heard of.

For the first time, play DUNGEON SIEGE on high-def consoles

What's a high-def console?

that's a silly marketing phrase, HD = 1280 x 720 or 1920 x 1080. I highly doubt that any of the current consoles are able to render all the DS3 bells/whistles at those resolutions, especially the 1080 one.

SC2 is not even worth $11 - I might get this when it's under $5... compared to SC1 it's pure arcade.

Battle.net is free for North America, if you happen to live in the regions where it's a monthly sub, too bad so sad!

very sorry to inform you that you have been successfully brainwashed by Blizzard: Because whatever they can do to other regions they could do to the North American region too (charging money for a service is perfectly legal in the N.A. region, should they decide to do so).

Facebook Privacy Settings- How To Fix Your Profile In 2 Minutes.

wait, I don't believe one can delete a Facebook account in 2 minutes (and even if this was possible it wouldn't fix anything because whatever you upload to Facebook is saved forever and thus theirs).

Good thing we all know how Facebook handles the privacy of its users a.k.a. "Dumb fucks"....

Back in '93 Wiz 7 easily took me 40 hours to finish. The final encounters in the "Crypt" dungeon alone took like an hour per battle and there were quite a few...

Legendary stuff
