I think I am going to get this. Don't care much about all the negative comments regards to this game I still enjoy playing it.

Add another one to the list. IMO supcom 2 is one of the most fun RTSs released lately. Big robots, big explosions, runs well and has some of the old TA charm. Looking forward to the return of the monkeylord!

Wow.. that looks impressive.. where has this game been hiding? holy pickles! the more i read about this game the more amped I get.. this looks very incredible.. and deep! My god, i found a new addiction for tonight

"where has this been hiding!?" is the same thing I thought when I first read about Evochron Legends right here on blues. This site seems to be one of the only places that posts about these games.

They don't dissapoint. Legends is great, Mercenary looks incredible. I'm psyched. Its a personal dream combination of freelancer and I-War2, with better control options than either.

How do you know they are charging for it?

Hrm, good point. If they don't charge for it I'll buy another copy of supcom 2 for one of my blizzard fanboy buddies who has never played a fun non-blizzard RTS.

What exactly is different between this and the orig?

SupCom 2 is a lot lighter on economy than SupCom1/TA. Its next to impossible to build up a giant snowballing economy, but its still gives you more freedom than games like Starcraft or CnC. There are still energy to mass converters but there's only one tier for a lot of techs now. And research is a third resource.

The result is that people tend to concentrate on the right reasearch options for the game they're in more than the economy. Its different, but it makes the game a little easier on those of us who were never great at managing the TA style ballooning economy at the same time as managing your units.

I love TA/SupCom but would get consistently crushed by the ecnomomy giants, so admittedly the fact that I sucked at supcom is one of the reasons I really like supcom 2.

Also the maps are smaller than supcoms, which really bothers some people... but the game runs twice as fast as the original supcom, which has to be a first in the world of sequals.

Well, I'll probably buy this since I really enjoy supcom2. That said, I miss the Total Annihilation days of free weekly dlc.

News Comments > Aliens vs. Predator Multiplayer Modes
7. Re: Aliens vs. Predator Multiplayer Modes Jan 28, 2010, 16:39 InterFaced

AVP's caffeinated aliens may not be exactly like the movies but it makes for an awesome game. In the marine campaign you're forced to play the whole time as if you're in the middle of a quake deathmatch with eyes on the back of your head. The way they scurry up the walls and over your head is terrifying. The fast enemies, the randomness of the enemy placement, and the after action scoreboard makes AvP1 one of the most replayable games I can think of.

Its good the maps are on the short side because its exausting, in a really good way.

Still looking forward to the demo for the new version. The only thing I've seen that seems really odd is the predator ventriloquist decoy.

14. Re: Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter Announced Nov 30, 2009, 18:12 InterFaced

hah!. I just replayed 2nd encounter today. Still entertaining.

frankly the old engine still holds up pretty well. I honestly don't see the need to spend another 20 bucks for some bump mapping and higher res textures.

IMO the coolest thing about the new version is the steam leaderboards. Makes serious sam like a global arcade game. (I'm currently ranked 13th worldwide on the karnak demo level in single player)

16 player co-op is a hoot too, and its just as insane as you might imagine it.

Will the EA store please just die already. (the digital distribution part) I bet all the battlefield games would sell pretty good on steam, since most people who play valve shooters would enjoy the BF series too.

For an extra fee you buy the privilege of downloading your file again in the future!

Every time I hear "Adagio for Strings" I think of Homeworld, and how the choir version is actually cooler than strings. Game hasn't aged too badly either.

Glenn Beck rules because he can use the same "white culture" rhetoric that David Duke uses but when Beck does it its different somehow.

Look at the spineless slimy douche try to weasel his way out of the bullshit he spouts every day http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKZ1qbDyKOM

I watch/listen to beck occasionally because I like to torture myself, If i was an emo teen I'd cut myself but since I'm a sarcastic 30 something this is what I do. Allow me to summarize a beck broadcast fo you!

"Be a sick freak like me! It sure is swell to be a shitheel douche adult convert to Mormonism and hate everyone except buttery white males!"

Oh shit I almost forgot the smiley face

News Comments > Stardock Boycotting UPS? [Updated]
104. Re: Stardock vs. UPS? Sep 28, 2009, 22:06 InterFaced

Has anyone made a "they just hate UPS cause they're brown" joke yet because I don't want to be the first.

Agree with him or not, Glenn Beck has the right to that opinion, and UPS's pulling of sponsor money in direct result of said opinion looks to be a petty act based not on good business, but simply on not tolerating an opposing viewpoint.

Nine out of ten census workers agree! (the tenth is hung from a tree with "FED" written on his chest)

I'll be using more UPS and less Stardock, Its a shame too... I like their games. The real shame is that Brad has never watched that hate mongering prick in action. If he did then he'd realize its impossible to maintain the neutral position he's going for now. Any boycott of fox news is a good thing.

I haven't played lately so I haven't noticed the cheaters. That's a real bummer. Whenever I'm in the mood for a battlefield-type game I reach for crysis wars. Love the suit powers, the prestige method of aquiring gear and the thermonuclear power struggle finish.

While I agree that UT3 could use more players, since the titan pack update I've never had trouble finding a game when I'm in the mood for some UT. I do remember having trouble a few months after retail release, it seems to at least have picked up some popularity since then thanks to community/EPIC updates and its $20 price.

Maybe I just like the more popular game modes. Titan Greed is crack

Here's another co-op mod I play once in awhile with my brother, its great.. even includes the original doom campaign http://www.doom3coop.com/

I too still enjoy Doom 3... monster closets and all. It is strange how Doom3, of all games, still has the most realistic hit detection system. You could miss by shooting between someone's legs. I don't know of any other games that do the Per polygon hit detection thing.

Looking forward to checking out these mods this weekend.

MMO random loot drop generator = worst possible update to a FPS.

While I agree that the system needs some tweaking, anything is better than achievement grinding.

Titan Greed is awesome.
I bet there will be another big price drop by the weekend. Since the last free weekend there's been enough players to fill a few servers, which is nice.

You shut your filthy mouth and take that back right now! I know you mean it as a compliment, but the thought of the Demigod community becoming like CS....*shudder*

Hah, I know what you mean... Maybe TF2 is a better comparison in the FPS world.

21. Re: Demigod Status Report Apr 29, 2009, 13:24 InterFaced

I have seen an enormous improvement in connectivity since release week. I know there are some people who are still unable to get in a game but there's definitly progress being made. In fact, in my case I can usually get into a game of demigod faster than I can get matched up in DOW2.

I'm having a lot of fun with the title. Its simple addicting action with some basic team play. I've never played a "strategy" title that has the potential broad appeal of demigod. Anyone can jump in and have a decent time, its like the counterstrike of strategy games.

4. Re: Demigod Day 0 Report Apr 15, 2009, 11:16 InterFaced

My only complaint about supreme commander is that post release support for things like balancing could be better. I'm hoping GPGs partnership with Stardock will improve things in this area. Stardock's support has always been excellent.

... I think I just convinced myself to buy this game.

As for negative feedback, I've heard plenty of negative things about Demigod, but just about all those complaints are from people expecting GPG to deliver a carbon copy of DoTA.
