well the cock the pc gaming industry is currently serving is flopping fairly drastically to one side as well(not to mention flacid), so his comment is most likely spot on.

action/rpg so they're just going to slap on new skins ontop of the fecal abortion that was DoW2? seriously close up shop, just stop making games while your staff are hideously un-creative and boring ppl. does relic have no clue at all? the list above is fairly accurate and a telling story, although coh is IMO an excellent RTS minus the tales of valor which was basically dow2 set in ww2. go back to the formula's you used before your dev house was running on food stamps.

the patch helped 2010 a bit, but the ai still feels rubber banded to u. it's grid with f1 skins. thats it. if thats all you expect then it's an ok game. but if you expected a successor to f1 2001 ie. a game that acknowledges the laws of physics, you'll be sourly disspointed.

this is the worst idea i've ever heard, what type of talentless morons are paid to come up with these total shite ideas anyway?. how about a proper movie based game?
why the hell has nobody made a death wish game? the name's awesome, and ready for market, the story would be easy enough to put in a game, ie. man is wronged, man seeks revenge, man gets revenge slowly and awesomely. Dig up some bronson gold audio clips from the movies and transpose them into the game's character. add in some open world gta4 goodness, and a 10 foot long revolver and you have gaming gold. hell you only have to shoot for a 6 hour game these days anyway, how hard could it be? why does the gaming industry keep trying to use material it's not capable of doing properly for the money they want to spend? if you're going to dig up old IP's and fuck the pain away until they're totally spent, then you should at least do it right. |

directX is clearly great for the gaming economy, which inversely is terrible for creativity. guess it depends on what you want, creative games playable on most platforms, or homogenous best sellers that can be used to sell locked down hardware, and kitchy peripherals. a resounding hezah for the bean counters, marketers and the middle-man parasites!

i'm not too keen on prone, it was a worthy sacrifice for gameplay in BC2. ppl are going to abuse it, and many cool maps will become camp graveyards. hopefully they release mod tools so u can limit the number of snipers per team or some other balancing tool.

well you only earn coin while you offline during the beta. credits, and research XP you get for battle, gold you'll have purchase after release. but yes, this game is pure crack. some russian tanks are overpowered, but there is some balance to it as each nation has overpowered tanks of their own. the russian tanks have higher armor and dmg, but much lower accuracy and fire rate than the german tanks, and the armor is not just down to thickness, but also the angle. good tanks will ricochet alot of shots. the american tanks i really don't have much experience, but the t32 seems ok, their guns are somewhere inbetween the russian and german's.

as good as i find steam now, they really need some actual competition. there's no real consumer choice at all if they ever start overstating their authority on user's computers. Other groups need to be given a few of the same breaks that steam had so we don't end up with a hyper centralized power entity before there's even a fully developed market. which is basically what we have now with steam vs direct2drive or impusle.

Jay wrote on Mar 11, 2011, 11:57: While it's true that hardware tessellation existed in OpenGL as a form of vendor extension (ATI's primarily), it didn't become part of the official specs until NVidia started supporting it last year (to be DX11 compliant, i suspect). not much different than the current physics situation. everyone could be using it through openCL, instead we're stuck with two proprietary players in a tech cold war with havok and physx. openGL and CL will always be universaly better in that they're more available, and compatible. they won't have all the bells and whistles of directX because they don't have the marketing budget, or pure rape appeal of directX. |

well at least it's a realistic timeframe for a failed north korean invasion. soldiers takeoff in a fleet of autogyro's from korea at 5am, planes are hit by sidewinders somewhere over the pacific at 10am
