I will *try* to be objective even though you flamed me (for no apparent reason).
Your logical argument was:
Scientists * believe * in dark matter the same way ppl * believe * in gremlins.
Gremlins aren't real therefore beleiving in them is ridicolous.
By beleiving in dark matter scientists reduces themselves to the level of ordenery ppl who beleivs in gremlings.
Conclusion: Scientists beleive in things that they shouldn't beleive in.
My note: gremlins aren't real. Even ordinary ppl know that, because gremlins appeared in some movie and *that's all*. Here your argument fails. If you said that beleiving in dark matter is like beleiving in Bigfoot or nessy your argument still could have hold water.

I can understand this sentence:
a. Razor mouse is rather dry, hence chili sauce. its extra because a mouse of this type is *very* dry.
b. Salad and mouse never mix. hence no salad.

This game will have bugs because software developing is not an exact science nor it will be for a very long time. you should not expect the game to be fully compatible with 100% of the systems out there. on the other hand waiting for a patch to a VERY buggy game for half a year is ridiculous.

I do agree that for the most part the most vocal part of the gaming community seems to be pretty pessimistic and ready to tear something/someone down just for the sake of doing so.

I never could get my Creature to 'remember' a learned task no matter how much I praised it.
My creature have the same problem, I asked around and it seems not everybody are suffering from this thing. my creature have learnt how to use the village store, totem, drink and poo 1,000,000,000 times, and he keeps Forgetting. this sucks.
scripted building that goes on at the beginning of a land could continue Yes, but I fear that the game progress will be affected by this because the circle of influence is influenced (he he) by the position and placement of the homes. about the big/little home issue - I can build both big and small buildings almost everywhere possible (if its on a cliff or something it would be clear that it can't be done) but there are couple of places in which it seems to be possible and yet isn't. maybe its a problem with the terrain script.
there HAS to be something good in this game. I'm just not sure what it is.

Wow, I can't believe this. The patch is not going out.
I already stated what I think of lionheads marketing. it sucks. I don't know what expansion packs they are going to get out (for fee) and I really do hope that their next game will be more stable than this one.
About the micro management: you don't have to micromanage anything. They learn how to take care for themselves (except when they are about 3 villagers...)
There is a web page about this, if you want I can add it.
I am still waiting for something good to get out of this game. There HAVE to be something.

A strange thing happens now.. the subject "Half-Life Patches Soon" has 28 posts, as the "Popular threads" counter shows (on my computer, after couple of refreshes..)
but in fact it now has 37 posts, so I figured this is strange
