"And so it came to pass than the misguided and untimely decision of president Biden to back so unpopular a proposal, cost him the 2024 election."
/snippets"The constitutional law here appears straightforward: Congress can’t outright ban TikTok or any social media platform unless it can prove that it poses legitimate and serious privacy and national security concerns that can’t be addressed by any other means. The bar for such a justification is necessarily very high in order to protect Americans’ First Amendment rights, Krishnan said.
Lawmakers argue that the bill under consideration isn’t actually a total ban. Rather, it would enact a new authority to ban apps in “narrowly defined situations” when they are controlled by a foreign adversary, ..."
... legal experts say that an indirect ban may still be unconstitutional under the First Amendment. Civil society groups including the American Civil Liberties Union and the Center for Democracy and Technology wrote in a recent letter to federal lawmakers that jeopardizing access to TikTok — ”home to massive amounts of protected speech and association” — also “jeopardizes access to free expression.”
,.,.,.,.,
Courts have already applied strict scrutiny to previous attempts to ban TikTok. A federal judge blocked the Montana TikTok ban — which also imposed a financial penalty on TikTok and any app store hosting it each time a user accesses or is offered the ability to access the app — before it was scheduled to go into effect in November.
Montana lawmakers justified the ban as a means of protecting the privacy interests of consumers in the state. But US District Judge Donald Molloy wrote in his ruling that the law overstepped the Montana legislature’s powers and left “little doubt that Montana’s legislature and Attorney General were more interested in targeting China’s ostensible role in TikTok than with protecting Montana consumers.”

Very interesting: Sony was not interested in EGS exclusivity. Maybe Epic didn't extend Sony an offer for that...

I'm going to have to go back and do a new playthrough of the Dragon Age games to get ready. So excited!
Yeah, you might want to wait on that until reviews are in. This isn't your father's Dragon Age games. It'll likely suck more than a Dyson vacuum cleaner at a hooker convention.

Since the fuck when is Apple concerned about overpriced e-waste?

Also, what a joke you claiming that millennials are the richest in history. We're the first ones to be poorer than the previous.RedEye9 wrote on Mar 1, 2024, 21:23:
I can see empathy oozing freely from the usual suspects.
Bro, I'm dripping. DRIPPING, I tellz ya!
Seriously though, someone knowingly decides to pick a job in a highly volatile industry. Then 'volatile' happens. Person snaps like "Waaaahhh look at me, I'm special, you have to keep ME employed waaaahhhh".
I've said it before and I'll say it again: If you want job security, don't work in games. Anyone who has done a modicum of research before getting a gaming job should know this. This pretend surprise and drama is completely silly.
If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen and don't become a cook. Hate driving in traffic jams and rush hours? Cab driver may not be the ideal job for you. Can't stand to see blood? Paramedic might be a poor choice. Want a safe job? A job in the video games industry might be a stupid idea.
But that's what I was alluding to with my comment in yesterday's 'Out of the Blue' comments section that millennials (and Gen Z) are not just the richest but also the whiniest generation in history. This is a typical snowflake example. They make decisions for their life, and then, when known risks actually materialize for once, it is everyone else's fault (society, "the man", "the system"... everyone but them).
The very definition of entitlement and egomania. I chose a job in the gaming industry so I am entitled to my dream job.

Reich-wingers are always like, "tHERE HAs EnVEr BEEN a SCUCEssfUl SOcIAliS tcOUTNry," despite the fact that there has never been a truly socialist country. But show me one single fucking capitalist country that succeeded. Thank a billionaire today! (with a punch to the face)
Can't tell if this is a joke or not.
You do know the United States is the richest, most successful, most powerful country in the history of the planet, right?
And it is capitalist.
Now, do the same for a communist country, or, even, a 'socialist' country.
Compare them to the United States.

Instead of cosmetic stores, pay to win, in-game shops, slapped together maps in a rehashed CoD, copying every popular game with slight tweaks, maybe developers need to step back and take a look at Baldur's Gate 3, and actually put some real effort into making original and fun games.
