Generally when folks are really hacking it's fairly obvious. I've seen people enter a server and knife everyone in it in seconds including those inside of vehicles. Or killing people from their spawn base at ours with a shotgun or pistol a second after the round starts. Generally when people use the aiming bot parts of these hacks on the death cam their character will appear VERY twitchy as the hack targets people.
Trouble is the "smart" hackers don't use all of those. They can easily use the no recoil option of most of the hacks to give them an edge and that's much harder to detect for a player who just got killed. Same goes with the options that allow you to see through walls like ...http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=dAOvNRA3G7c#! that. You can't really tell if the person is using that or if you were just spotted by someone and they knew you were there. =P I worry more about the number of people using those that you just can't tell then the folks who teleport an entire team onto a stick of C4 and detonate it or knife people in tanks. They are usually dealt with fairly quickly.
Every night if I play for 3-4 hours across a half dozen servers I will usually see at least 1 person blatantly hacking. But I daresay the actual number is a good bit higher and the people using them just aren't as obvious. |

Bah no mention of the DirectX errors people are getting like the ...
Direct3DDevice9::Present failed: Ran out of memory (-2147024882) OR Direct3DDevice9::Present failed: Driver internal error
Lovely. =P So the stuttering will be fixed but the total and complete crashes won't be for awhile longer.
Anyone else miss back in the day when games were released actually working for more then 10% of everyone who bought it on PC? Geez. |

I played with it a bit in the PC version last night when I got disgusted with the lag. I've always wanted a game that had a decent theater mode. Battlefield 2's was ok but hardly any servers seem to use Battlerecorder so most of the time it wasn't viable. And Teamfortress 2's version was fairly crappy and tended to crash a lot for me. My only wish was that they had put a slow motion ability in, which if they did I haven't been able to find. Being able to use the mouse to look around the interface in theater mode would be nice too. Still though it's nice they have the ability in game. Few PC versions seem to have that feature that I've seen. It's going to make video editing a lot easier. |

| I'm surprised people can even play SP. Right now the game has some serious issues. Tons of people are having a strange hitch/freeze lag constantly because of Steam using so many resources in the background. Like you'll walk around a corner, and suddenly freeze and warp back 5-6 steps or just freeze until you're dead. That's with a 20 ping. =( There are various fixes for it like setting steam to only use 1 core etc though. But SP also totally freezes the game for a lot of folks. I haven't made it passed level 1 without the game freezing. =P Tried about 10 times now. SP also has that wierd hitch lag. Hopefully they'll get it fixed soon as it's nearly unplayable now, least in with any sort of entertainment value hehe. |

| Those of you who don't have it yet you are not missing much. The game is laggy as all hell right now. Nearly everyone is getting some god awful hitching lag while playing, and there is alot of directx related crashes for everyone I played with tonight. =P So they got some bugs to work out for sure. |

| They aren't releasing mod tools cause they plan to make folks pay for the maps in expansion packs, ala Bad Company 2: Vietnam which has already been announced. If they release mod tools most will just play custom maps made by the community and less will give the developers more money by buying the expansions. Annoying? Yes. But what can ya do? |

| Would be nice if their accounting system actually worked so you could get your code. Tried to sign up 3 times with 3 different emails. First 1 went through and after validating the email it told me the product key was already in use. Second one my login/pass didn't work to login to the game after I went through the full process and validated the account via email. Third and final time I tried the validation email didn't even come through and it's been 6 hours and yes I checked the spam folder. =D |

Guess they don't realize VOIP doesn't even work half the time on servers I've seen at least, not to mention everyone nowadays uses Vent/Teamspeak anyways to do the same thing so it won't exactly stop that much at all.
I don't care as much about not receiving credit for stuff you've done after you died because ...well you DID die. Why should you get rewards after your dead? It's easy enough to level and get all the unlocks in very short time even without those points so I don't see a problem myself. I've been playing 2 hours a night since release and I'm already like level 27 with every unlock possible for awhile now. |

| EQ is still going strong surprisingly enough. Especially with more modern games like Wow out I'm very surprised to see it. However it was/is a great a game for it's time. So it doesn't surprise me a lot of folks still play it. I go back myself once in awhile for old times sake. |

Just goes to show if you make a quality game with good MP even a lot of pirates will buy it to play it online with friends. =D
Server issues aside when the game has been up and easy to find games in I've enjoyed the hell out of it thus far. It's not as hardcore as something like BF2 although it's not very far off imo. I can't wait to see what they do with BF3 down the road. |

ldonyo wrote on Feb 21, 2010, 12:16: The only protest that publishers will recognize is when gamers stop buying games that do not have the features they want. If sales stop, dropping of features will stop. Exactly. Blame the lemmings who keep buying games that leave off lan play and/or dedicated servers although I don't see the lack of a dedicated server being an issue for a game like this. Lack of lan play is unforgivable though. Yet another game I won't bother with. And another developer added to my black list. |

| I'd much rather have an FPS SG game then an MMO myself, especially since what I've seen of the MMO looks too much like Battlefield Heroes gameplay wise to me. =P And this game is just a 3rd person FPS version of the MMO from what it looks like. It's a shame such a great IP hasn't been treated to more quality games. The only real FPS for it was canceled sadly. Maybe with the success of Stargate Universe we'll get to see some more enthusiasm from developers into making some good solid SG games. |

| People have no one to blame but themselves for continuing to buy games published by EA. This is what they do to their customers. Gamers keep buying them and they're just being lemmings and allowing them to continue doing it. =P Long as they keep making money they won't stop doing this. ^_- People need to learn. |

What tard thought that it would be a good idea to do their phoentic name stuff via that method. It NEVER comes out right even if you follow that guide. Ventrillos is pretty flawless. Why they couldn't use a similiar system instead of creating some retarded stuff like that that most folks will never be able to get to work is beyond me. =P Sad, as I had great hopes for this, and it's one of many problems with it. Granted it's a beta, so we'll see, I don't see them fixing the phonetic stuff though. |

One has to wonder how they've had enough money to fund the team working on this when the other team working on SGW didn't get paid for so long.
This game could be neat and I must admit am FPS I'd look forward to more then an MMO of Stargate. Not many sci-fi MMO's translate/do very well it doesn't seem like. Although I find the 3rd person, Battlefield Heroes style camera this sounds like it will have unfortunate. =( I'd have preferred a straight 1st person view but what can you do?

It's a sad announcement honestly but it doesn't surprise me. I actually enjoyed this game for awhile. However this is the second such price hike on VP bought items since the game went live, and the last one was harsh enough. I started feeling like I had to grind just to have enough bandages and my weapons to play. It didn't make me want to buy anything with real money, it made me want to delete the game off my PC as that's not how the game was advertised.
I think honestly it's in response to tons of people moving away from the game. Both because of the increased VP points required for everything and for the drastic game play changes they make everytime one group starts whining about another class. They nerfed soldiers first so no one even bothered using grenade spam because it was worthless, so folks fussed about snipers, and the 1-2 shot kills from stealth with the fast rifle and piercing shot is what pissed people off, they didn't change that but instead made troop traps worthless, and added an ability to mark more then 1 person so playing a commando is beyond annoying at this point since your marked every other second by folks. I quit playing right after they did the troop trap nerf.
I felt like the game was still in beta with all the drastic (should have been altered before the game came out of beta) changes. And it'll stay deleted until they stop caving to all the whiners on the forums. Gunners are the new trendy thing to whine about on the forums so they'll get a nerf soon too. There is no class really worth trying in this game as they've proven time and again they will just ruin it the minute you spend time on it.
Let this game die like the turd it has become I say.

I always laugh at folks who say the lack of dedicated server support isn't a bad thing. Try playing Left 4 Dead and most nights spend 45 minutes connecting to a server with friends and reconnecting over and over and over cause they keep sticking you on some server in Mexico you ping 300 to no matter what you set your region to. Tonight alone I spent nearly an hour trying to find a server just to play without having a ping like a dialup user on AOL. =P Matchmaking in theory is good, but in practice it never works out that great. They need to leave that garbage on the console where it belongs. Hearing Ye God Carmack saying this saddens me tremendously. =P
