Really, Chris? Really?

And I guess the end goes something like this?:

And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accursíd they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Star Citizenís day.

A) Blue, you shouldn't have to apologize for observing a date has two sevens in it.

B) Calling someone 'Bob Saget' is a whoa-whoa-whoa moment. I mean, that really crosses the line. That dude is like the Family Circus of comedians. Even Carrot Top avoids that dude at parties.

C) How is Rocket League, anyway?

It's possible there's a layer to it that's like a really old game called Starflight, if so then I'll be blown away.

Starflight set the bar pretty high, man.

Yeah, okay, open-ended is great...

...but what is there to do?

Exploration is awesome...

...if there's something to find.

The game looks interesting, but I'm not grokking the driving elements, I guess. I mean, in Minecraft, you explored to find awesome procedurally-generated environemtents...but ultimately because you needed more diamonds and redstone.

What's the hook?

Doesn't your comparing it to Minecraft (and it's lack of a push) answer your own question? The video stated you find shit, upgrade your shit, and can go further... Isn't that the same as diamonds and redstone?

It's not the same thing at all.

Minecraft is about building. You know...mining and crafting. Yes, there is an effectively limitless world to explore, and resources to gather, but those are a means to an end. To build whatever you can imagine. That's the hook.

What you describe is just a treadmill. Unless there is something new and different to find, what is the point of an exploration game?

"Ooh! This hill is blue, not green! PINK water! Wow!"

Even Starbound has more depth than what I see here, pretty as this is. At least in that I can find, destroy, or build epic structures and civilizations on the variations-of-the-theme worlds I explore.

It looks nice, I just hope they build a game on it.

RONIN is fun.

All the reviews cite some minor issues, it's not "perfect", whatever.

Screw perfect. This isn't a 200hr AAA title that will require a huge investment of time and resources.

It's fun. Reminds me of why I play these damn things.

How is that not "still waiting"...?

They were supposed to have a playable client years ago - if I've overlooked it, please enlighten me.

Played online, last night, with my Crew.

I'm pretty amazed. Looks amazing. Silky smooth. Incredible view distance. Even the character import worked pretty well (aside from adding lipstick to my character, for some reason, which was easily removed at the barber shop).

We spent the rest of the night wreaking havoc on the streets and raining fire from the heavens until my Crew finally bailed in the wee hours.

Slow clap, Rockstar.

I'm pretty shocked at how well it runs and looks on my rig.

Character transfer from PS3 was pretty easy and slick.

My crew bailed on me around 2am, I had no idea it was that late...Well done, R*.

You just described 97.8% of all licensing deals...

Why some dolt who is incapable of coming up with their own successful IP thinks they can "re-imagine" someone else's for the better will never make sense to me.

Well, other than the usual "stupid people do stupid things" explanation.

We actually had a lot of fun with Brink.

Played it at least as much as Titanfall. Certainly better than Evolve.

I haven't been back to it for a long time, doubt it aged very well, but my friends and I played it and had fun for long enough I never regretted owning it.

Then again, I think we picked it up on sale, after they hammered out their launch issues.

I dunno if you're being cynical, but Spintires is much more entertaining than it has any right to be.

Not for everyone, I'm sure, but then again, what game is?

Shadow of Mordor is in the running for "Lamest Final Act of All Gaming History", in my book.

Really enjoyed the game...until they just gave up and phoned it in.

I mean, really...a MINIGAME for the final battle? For shame.

Wow this is still going? I thought APB died years ago.

According to their blog post, it's something like the 19th most played game on Steam.

I confess having been an off-and-on APB addict since RTW Beta. The level of customization is amazing, the gameplay has epic highs and lows. It is flawed, but below the surface is a lot deeper than it looks - the skill curve can really have a huge impact...

...of course, without an anti-cheat system, that just made the problem worse.

It's not cheater-free, now, but it is leaps and bounds beyond where it was. I've actually gone back to playing fairly regularly.

But then, my love of broken toys is well documented.

Wow, I've never even heard of this. It looks miserable to me, mostly because it's the type of game that seems so limitless that you need to make enormous time investments, time I don't have.

Like Kerbel, which I played for exactly 20 minutes.

Fair enough on the time investment - I feel your pain. I basically have a about a quarter of my day that I get to divvy up between games and sleep.

But understand that is a free-time problem, not a problem with KSP. The four or five hours most people require to even make stable orbit in KSP is working as intended.

There are plenty of games that provide instant gratification - KSP is one of the few that provides real challenges.
