Watch Dogs was a fucking mess. The micro-stutter issues(...)

It was perfectly fine on a GTX 780/i7. Here anyway.

Well, except all the problems with Uplay of course (needed to update but wouldn't be able to, impossible to log in, ... had to wait for hours before moving past the terrible Uplay experience).

Which makes me wonder what little difference may get those game to work or stutter as hell. If you look at the users' opinion on Steam, people with apparently the same hardware are either over the moon or completely frustrated. Though they rarely detail their hardware / software configuration.

Also, Black Flag was on the same engine, though it was probably easier on the textures (but less on poly count?). We didn't see so many bad reports for this version, even on Metacritic.

It's been released for a few days now. Review are quite bad, apparently the controls are terrible (especially edge detection), so is the AI.

Shame, second disappointment after Thief. We really ought not to get high expectations from those marketing racket.

Here's another record from Ubisoft, the cleverness of their support. This is the way to solve all the login connection problem so many suffered recently:

"To resolve you issue could you please uninstall the Uplay launcher from your PC.

Could you please go to http://uplay.ubi.com/en-GB and click on the link to download and then reinstall the launcher.

Once the Uplay client is reinstalled please do the following:-

Go to the following location - C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher

- Right click Uplay.exe

- Select properties

- Switch to the compatibility tab and tick run this program as an administrator.

- Click Apply and then OK.

Once you have done this please try to run the game again."

-- just to make sure, yes, it was ironic

Since they seem to like that, don't hesitate to hammer their support too. It's time they finally decided to give up about this silly uplay.

Considering the failure Dark Souls 2 proved to be on PC, that 1st position is a real wonder. Apparently this "game" had such a good publicity that it passed no matter how crippled - and this isn't the first time!

Not to mention the total lack of support, I wish I could just get a refund and forget about this mistake.

Had they released that for PC first, they would never have sold so many licences.

Processor: Eight core - Intel Core i7-3770 @3.5 GHz or AMD FX-8350 X8 @ 4 GHz

That's a 4-core processor, not an 8-core (http://ark.intel.com/products/65719/).

More and more disappointing, not only did they fail to fulfil their initial promise of delivering a game (it was but a demo), not only did they only delivered a third of the contents on the 2nd release date, but now they reschedule what is only the second part.

Next time I'll just wait until it's actually out there too, I'm a customer and not an investor :p

It's "better than *its* counterparts", no verb in there. Common mistake, but a mistake nonetheless.

3D is just a distraction, also I'd rather they kept good quality contents and didn't sacrifice part of the budget for this silliness.

Hopefully the film industry will realise that eventually.

A bit in advance for April fool's day, but an interesting hoax nevertheless

No, if it's actually coming from Ubisoft and not a hoax (which I'm really not convinced), it would even be smart from them. This will obviously make quite a buzz - already is -, then all they'd have to do is publish an official statement that, "in order to respect their fans, they finally decided to include PC mouse and keyboard support in their last game". Free advertising, and what a way to restore a bit of their fame after the DRM mess they got into.

At any rate, I don't believe one moment that if they went into the trouble of publishing a PC version of the game, they wouldn't also add the code (that they already have, remember the other titles of the franchise?) to offer keyboard and mouse support. Without that, it wouldn't even be interesting to try and sell a crippled game in the PC market.

105. Re: id On RAGE Oct 8, 2011, 07:10 nofb

Well, if John Carmack doesn't see the PC as the leading platform for games, PC owners won't see id games as the appropriate choice for them

Not that those games are very interesting anyway, one or two of that style were enough, now it's getting embarrassing. Yes, after all they might be just good for consoles.

Don't buy in the shops mentioned in this article, not if you're in Europe. They're incredibly expensive, especially JoWooD and Steam!

Try Amazon instead.

Darwinia is a fun, refreshing game, one of the few that doesn't just rely on 3D to be called a game. I can hardly wait Subversion to be available, it looks like they are doing a great job there too!

... and yeah, I hope it'll be funnier than the other Subversion
