Whoever writes these wired articles is getting payed by the big boys. Why does the US have some of the slowest internet speeds out there, because the ISP's resist spending money on equipment upgrades. I have a friend that is 4 houses away from having cable and the ISP won't extend their line.

How not having net neutrality helps the little guy is completely lost in an article that is more a bunch of whims than any sort of facts.

I am disappointed in Turbine wasting their time with a MOBA. They are way too late to the party.

As to esports, I agree it is NOT a sport in any shape or form. Besides most of us want to play a game with our free time, not watch someone else do it.

Esports has to be one of the dumbest ideas ever thought up.

Kudos to women, they are smarter than those who waste their time watching such crap.

Seriously, if you believed he was making 50k a day I have a bridge for sale in brooklyn, I will cut you a great deal.

Candy Crush earns about $850k/day, so this isn't really difficult to believe.

Well Candy Crush is someone addictive for bored people, Flappy Bird is not even a decent app. Oh and it does have in game advertising.

The epic space battle did not cost gamers a dime! Most of these super corporatiohs have tons of replacement materials. About the only thing they lost was the time to remake some of the big ships.

This is what I call trash journalism. The writer should stick his head in the sand and keep it there.

Since you can buy game time with in-game currency, it is easy to establish a real world value for the items that were lost in the battle. So yes, real money was essentially lost.

Point is that the people that lost all those ships don't need to buy/sell in game time, they have assets that make that superfluous. Hence there was very little of that kind of trading due to this battle. That is why the article was absurd.

We avoid 3D movies. Only as a last resort will we watch them. I still find the theater experience better than one in a home environment, of course I don't have a built in movie theatre at home either.

That Flappy bird game is not even close to being a decent game. Downloaded it for the kids and they soon stopped playing it and went back to their better games.

I would have to agree that it does not seem very likely this game is that popular.

As usual Kotick is clueless as ever. Destiny to start with is a console only game. It will be superceded by the next big title within 6 months.

Servers will be offline within two years if they make it that long.

I don't buy ebooks that have DRM, there are tons out there that don't have it, those that do can't be good books.

It will be interesting to see if they hold their ground on this. I'm pretty sure there is a fairly large installed base of XP still. It's a reasonable thing to do, just not sure their customers are reasonable.

With XP support ending in April, only idiots will retain it as their OS. Even our old pc the kids use is getting upgraded in March. Can't imagine playing a game like this on XP, that has to mean you have not upgraded your computer in what 4 or 5 years, means you can't play the game anyway, your computer is too outdated.

While the idiots at the market hope for a merger to cash in on, there is no way they are going to get regulatory approval at this time. Just like all the rumors about Time Warner, neither Comcast or Charter has a chance a merger will happen.

If anything we should be talking about breaking up AT&T and Verizon.

Odd, both Dayz and Rust are just deluged with cheaters. Why do you buy a game that has cheaters at every corner?

People really like to subject themselves to abuse I guess.

These class action nuts really crack me up. You were dumb enough to invest in EA and now you are suing because you lost money?

The judge should just toss the suite and fine them for a filing a frivolous one.

Both of these games are the biggest scams on quickstarter. One is selling real estate, the other promises of old school, when it really is not old school at all, just his vision of it.

Fortunately I saw this coming and avoided both kickstarters.

Why Microsoft thought people were going to switch to touch screens is absurd. Sure many laptops are coming out with them, but still most of us would much rather use a mouse and keyboard with a familiar interface.

These development houses always seem to forget that they must watch the finances. 38 Studios was the worst example of this. Too easy to get money in this genre, they forget the old adage, easy come easy go.

If the financial person does not have final say on expenses, it is just a matter of time before they self destruct. It does not matter if you make a decent game.
