This is a complaint I really don't get. Even playing games that seem to need to be played in a darker room(infamous on dusk levels), I've never had a problem with the light bar.

Depends on where/how you sit, if your TV is glossy or matte, etc.

My complaint is slightly more practical, I just think its a waste of battery power. Before someone says "but its LED!!!", the LED in that thing is so bright they put a heavy dimmer in front of it. I get far better battery life when I'm using the DS4 on the PC with the lightbar turned off as well.

Yeah, I liked the show as well. Was just starting to heat up and find it's groove in the story line.

Sigh, another good show to bite the dust. Just like Life. I loved that damned show. At least it made it two seasons.

Life was a really interesting quirky twist on the usual procedural fluff, I used to watch it with my father when I would visit, it was his favorite show. He was really pissed off when they cancelled it and put some other predictable/boring show in its place. The networks and their audience love dumbed down, comfort food TV way too much, its why all of the innovation is going to cable (ok that and nudity/swearing).

Blu-ray is healthy enough, the problems are:
-Lack of content being upgraded to the format
-Overpriced when movies are released, then pricing drops dramatically to a proper level
-The DVD format still being used (and sometimes exclusively) for new content

Streaming visual quality can't keep up with Bluray. Add in bandwidth caps and lack of ISP investment in infrastructure and Bluray has a healthy future.

Bluray sales are pretty healthy around here but yeah on release they tend to be like $30 and most people understandably balk at those prices. By the time they come down to sane levels they're already hitting streaming networks. Hollywood shooting itself in the foot yet again.

This game just keeps going, fucking amazing notch said no to EA when they wanted to buy him out. I mean if this was sold to EA there would but no mod support and then would already have made 50 dlc.

I didn't know EA had made an offer but it doesn't surprise me. Did a little googling on it.

From an article quoting an EA guy talking about how Minecraft really needs Origin and EA to manage it:

ďAs somebody who has had to reinstall Windows on my sonís computer after he attempted to install Mod Manager on that machine, thereís a lot of value to be provided for the customer in making Minecraft and its mods and installations something thatís a more commercial and predictable product."

Hahah. EA is just fucking sleaze sometimes, seriously that's rich.

I read the Outbox thing last night, very interesting article. I've had very little but spam in my mailbox for the past five years so I would be all for something like that, shame that our tax dollars are being used to fund the modern equivalent of the milkman.

Fox Cancels ĎAlmost Humaní.

Fuuuuck, it was actually pretty good and just needed a bit of time to find an audience. Networks have no patience these days, you're a hit off the bat or you're done like dinner. To be fair though Urban had been talking about how he wanted to go back to film because the TV schedule meant he hadn't really seen his family for 6 months.

Where is game system standby and resume? Exporting video to a USB drive, wtf? Is this 2006? Get a Youtube upload app going already. Didn't see anything about simple things like friends notifications either. I'm still waiting on the app SDK they were talking about pre-launch too.

The Xbox One is a total mess but at least on the software side of things Microsoft is iterating quickly.

This is true. I've been waiting to replace my 4x4gb sticks that I got for $100 a couple years ago with a 2x8gb setup, but the prices are hovering around $30-$50 more than what I bought my current setup for.

BTW, with 16GB of memory, I've turned off my paging file and have had no ill effect whatsoever on my system.

You should really keep a small 1GB page file for rogue applications, bad drivers and so on that would otherwise cause issues.

Season passes are almost always a losing proposition for me. Either the quality of the content isn't there or they take so long to release updates that I've long since lost interest.

About the only thing more annoying than people ranting in Starcitizen threads (I myself belong squarely in that category) is holier-than-thou apologists proclaiming that they are better than that, by staying on their high high horse, in those very same threads.

If you're yin you can't really complain about other people being yang

You're just arguing for the sake of it and not really on point with what I was talking about. Even if this was about "server clusters" which they didn't say, the PC is where MMOs thrive and VM space is cheap to rent these days. There isn't really a good reason for not having a PC version of an MMO, even moreso when porting concerns have been eased considerably.

We should make this a thing, like a regular poker game or something. Every week we get together and yell at each other about Star Citizen. Rarrrr I don't think its coming out! Chris Roberts is a god! Chris Roberts hates babies! This game is poop compared to Elite!!

Eh? Ive read your post three times and well I guess my comprehension is really off today...Did you just say that Microsoft doesnt allow cross platform play and then called it Bungie's excuse?

"we cant make a PC version because of cross platform play concerns" isn't a good excuse when you already can't have cross platform play due to cert issues and rules. The back end shit isn't a good excuse either so Bungie is just being silly.

I read the article but that sounds like a developer making excuses, Microsoft already doesn't allow cross platform play, its one of their cert stipulations. If the dev meant the backend then that also makes zero sense.

It seems like such a natural fit for the PC, I don't know why they're leaving money on the table like this. It looks almost like a mash up of WoW and Halo which would be quite lucrative and I mean if you're making an MMO you do it on the PC because thats where the market is. Bizarre choices.

The casting for GoT really is almost perfect all around. Now if George would just get the fucking next book out and series wrapped up sometime before the next decade and/or he snuffs it then all will be well.

Yeah I tend to agree. Their choices for the show rekindled my interest in some of the characters from the books. Whoever does the casting deserves some major kudos. The whole production is pretty incredible now that I think about it, I can only hope HBO throws some money at an original sci-fi series sometime too.

Uh oh. I can see them shutting down the servers sooner now.

The servers are operated by Namco-Bandai, not From Software. So they will likely keep them going.

I have a theory that they know at this point that the books are going to lag far behind the show. So, the show guys are having to forge their own path so that they can finish the show their own way. The final book will probably come out after the show finale.

It's just a theory, though. I got nothin to back it up.

Martin gave them a rough guideline of where he wants to go with the books already. Your theory will almost certainly pan out, he has extremely poor work habits.
