So, when we see someone riding this thing in game we can all go, hey look at hay loser who paid over 300 day for a Tiger mount.

For a guy who cries an ocean of tears whenever someone disses a product he likes this is a pretty ridiculous comment to make.

I think the problem is more that CGI was invented to help offset the cost of movies and instead has inflated budgets. Of course with hollywood accounting its really difficult to accurately peg where the fault lies. Many CGI/animation companies go under right after a big project when a studio screws them on something so its hard to fault one side or the other in a scenario where they're all fucking each other.

In terms of seeing the effects in films, there are times its done really well and there are times I wish they had used more practical effects or just been less ambitious. Some films seem to use it as a crutch when the director was simply overreaching with his budget or the script calls for things that just aren't practical. Sometimes this works out well but I would say more often than not it doesn't and ends up looking really poorly implemented.

I don't think you really consider that some people just find it jarring by the way. In an entertainment medium where escapism is paramount (heh!) that's not an insignificant factor. The use of CGI certainly isn't going anywhere so people have to suck it up but in their defense I can see how its overuse would annoy people who end up blaming the tool instead of the person wielding it.

In the past the winters have been fairly mild so I didn't have to put booties on ours but those days are long gone. I have to say ours really seem to like them too, I can't imagine walking around barefoot in -5 weather either so in retrospect I probably should have been doing it sooner. I've never owned a winter breed, I wonder if people bother with malamutes or huskies.

My buddy can't get his german shepherd to wear them for some reason, she will stomp around and act anxious until he takes them off.

The jewelry commercial is great by the way. Fuckin De Beers, screwing men for eternity.

Yeah I really enjoyed the creepy, oppressive atmosphere that both seemed to ooze. Ben Affleck was terribly miscast but the rest of it was pretty decent I thought. I also enjoyed Event Horizon but most people seem to hate it

In today's climate of instant media coverage, and mega corporation media ownership why are you people surprised? This shit is worldwide, you can run from it but you can't hide. People are trading their freedoms for security and they are doing it willingly. It doesn't matter that the security threat is overblown way over proportion, most people are living in a fantasy world anyway. Just turn on the tv and see the endless procession of 'reality' TV fantasy and MTV soft porn. We are decaying as a culture, we are devolving as species. We are fucked.

I understand that people are mad at Peter, but I think calling him a "liar" is inaccurate. That implies a deceptive intent from that start, that he said all those things knowing he'd never deliver. I've never found that to be the case with him. He believes his own grandiose BS. He's an ideas guy that has no ability in his brain to conceptualize the scope of what he wants to do, and then he runs his mouth. Nothing is impossible until it's actually impossible. That's why he absolutely needs an equal with sharp business acumen to reign him in. Unfortunately, he has become so successful that he's gone full Lucas and no one can tell him what to do.

I'm not sure I would separate deception from belief, you can certainly still deceive people while believing something. He's not a modern Uri Geller or something but there is some really dubious shit in the back and forth about the Godus KS. Maybe in the past I would agree because I always thought of him as a marketing guy who made the wrong career choices but the Godus KS is the first time I've thought "ok thats bullshit". Specifically regarding project deadlines, some of the design goals, the on/off comments about a publisher and failed delivery of most KS rewards. That's without going into the switched focus of development (mobile vs PC) and some of the other rumor mill stuff that has come from both current and ex employees.

It's unhealthy and unfair for people to expect honesty from developers? Well ok then Tim, not sure I would've gone with that but uh good luck.

Rough treatment? LOL. Some much deserved bad press after decades of bullshit is rough treatment? People really are softies these days.

"They hurt his feelings!" oh geez I'm crying over here, lifes so unfair!

"I am not saying developers like Peter and I [sic] shouldn't be responsible and shouldn't be accountable to deadlines,"

You're just saying that no one should be able to criticize them for it, yeah that's so much better.

The Surface Pro is actually more akin to an Ultrabook without an attached keyboard.

I've set up a Pro 2 and Pro 3 for work. They're both good machines, but the Pro 3 really nailed it with the 4:3 screen. Much more natural in tablet mode that way. Very slick design, and the keyboard cover is actually really useful.

Do they still make you pay more for the keyboard cover? That always really put me off. The thing is way too much as it is.

Well, my xbox one just sits collecting dust, I've played a total of 10 minutes of Ryse on it before never touching it again. I made the mistake thinking that xbone would actually have exclusive titles for it within the first year that I actually wanted to play. (impulse buy, didn't look into it before hand.)

Haha yeah for sure. I'm never doing the console launch thing again either. I waited like 3-4 years for the 360 and by the time I got to it there was a ton of stuff out. I should've done the same with the PS4. I've found a few gems like Infamous SS but for the most part its just waiting for both third and first parties to finish making stuff. Hopefully Bloodborne doesn't disappoint.

True gamers own all systems and play the games they want to on them. Like for instance, I'm playing destiny with my xim4 adapter on my PS4.

I don't know what a "true gamer" is but this gamer barely has enough time for one platform, let alone 5

I haven't seen anything that made me want to own an Xbox, Vita or etc which doesn't help.

Ouch 65 Metacritic. Yeah I'm kinda getting "done" with consoles. Too many great games on the PC and the odd time I need a console fix I turn on the 3DS since I can always stop on a dime with it when family shit comes up. It's really annoying that Sony still hasn't implemented the supposed launch feature of instant on resume for games from standby.

It's like that time a friend and I got invited to a test screening of a movie. It was free, so we were like "Cool. let's go." Then I realized... "Wait... isn't this movie coming out Tomorrow??" It was. They were literally getting a test audience reaction the day before the release date. That movie? "Phantoms".

Affleck was the bomb in Phantoms.

You can't possibly understand how much funnier that line was given our experience with that test screening.

The book for Phantoms was pretty good at least

Ok well it was ok.

Alright it sucked, wheres my beer.

Only on bluesnews are MOBA considered 'easy mode' games.

No you're just stupid, MOBA's are RTS games where unit production is ENTIRELY handled by the computer (aka it is the equivalent of "unit assist for RTS games"). Then they give you the single RTS hero to control with a highly scripted set of items to buy which are highly babied and chosen by mostly incompetent developers of league of legends for 'balance' reasons.

MOBA's are RTS for retards. Starcraft 1 blows any MOBA out of the water in terms of depth and complexity. The whole term MOBA is actually a term that was coined by the non-RTS generation console/steam gaming crowd that didn't grow up on Warcraft 2 Via kali/kahn and battle.net diablo/Warcraft 3.

The entire term is bullshit since both league of legends and DOTA 2 are just warcraft/starcraft mods with higher resolution models.

They are a cut-down simplified version of a real time strategy game. DOTA 2 while slightly more complex is still not as complex as a real RTS. So they are RTS for newbs whether you like it or not. They are the real time strategy game equivalent of bejeweled.

Ironically you sound like the average MOBA player I run into, full of insults and silliness. It's interesting that you are so insecure about this that you feel the need to lash out constantly at people who play them. Could it just be that you're really awful at MOBA games and are trying to make yourself feel better about it? It's ok, MOBAs are really hard to master and you shouldn't feel ashamed of it.

MOBAs are not RTS games, they were born out of that genre but are not directly comparable. The complexities involved are far different but they are there nonetheless.

He's too emotionally involved for asking Peter questions that make him uncomfortable?

Have you guys ever watched an actual interview with Peter Molyneux? He is a snake charmer with words. You have to use pretty clear and definitive questions/language to pin him down. This was pretty much necessary to getting any actual answers for fans who have been burned and even then you'll notice every time he takes responsibility for something its with a caveat.

I have a hard time reading the audio transcript and seeing where Walker was letting bias or personal feelings influence him. Pretty much everything was related to things Peter has done or said publicly. What's the problem here? I don't like RPS but they got this one right.
