You tried a google search? Plenty of hits on the topic.

There is PS3 and 360 versions of the game as well.
The problem isn't limited to any of them that I'm aware of. Because you can copy your toons from PS3 to PS4, the hacked items come with it.

I clearly referenced them in my post so, yes. What you're talking about is some third hand stuff that is a non-issue. The amount of people with hacked toons is going to be miniscule at best, it requires a rooted PS3 which aren't easy to find these days thanks to the oldest rootable firmware being over 2 years old. They also get almost instantly banned after connecting to PSN, same with jtag'd 360s on XBL. The uptake from those people converting to PS4/XB1 will be even smaller/ You don't not do something cool like trading just because 50 people on the planet might go to some absurd length to get a handful of items in the game. Blizzard obviously knows that considering they implemented it.

They don't even control everything on the console side of things, if anything the PC version would be more secure since they have the underlying platform locked down on their servers.

Anyways I want feature parity with the consoles and I'm going to keep asking for it

I know a few chicks with Galaxy Notes and oddly they love them, I suspect that's their main market demo. I don't know if its like a tablet to their tiny hands or whatever. I find Notes way too big to be a decent phone and way too small to be a decent tablet.

I think smart watches are utterly pointless for all but a few niche uses. The only "next big thing" I want is implantable tech but it'll be beyond my lifetime for the kind of use I would want to see.

I want my Peters Watt Blindsight & Echopraxia inspired universe, just need to live another 200 years to get there

I didn't even *know* there was an option for having it make a sound.

Wouldn't enable it anyway. I'm on the PC to get away from that stuff.

Oh there isn't an option (unless I have just missed it), that was my point. Sorry if it was oddly worded. I actually wouldn't mind a quick little Portal noise or something when you get one, I barely even notice.

Um, baby, bathwater?

Come on dude, seriously? I defended RPS for a long time when others said the same thing but the past year they have really tanked. There are many other places to get my news and the editorials took a nosedive both in quality and content. I can find other websites to get the same level of information without being talked down to like a baby about someones misplaced moral crusades.

I saw Trevellian in it a few times on Steam, maybe he can weigh in if he sees this thread.

I barely even notice getting a Steam achievement, still haven't added an option for a sound notification after all these years.

Great write up. As the author says, I'm tired of editorial opinion pieces that have little to do with gaming itself and just attempt to force a social agenda on you. I was a huge fan of RPS but they pushed me into foregoing their site entirely.

Ironically the Titan Quest bug affected some legitimate copies of the game too, they had to patch it.

Haters gotta hate, I guess.

Seriously. I went to BlizzCon once and it was a great time, we met lots of other couples into games and the Blizzard staff were very accessible.

I wouldn't pay for streams when there will be tons of free ones elsewhere online but BlizzCon itself is awesome.

Also irony alert at someone posting about getting a life instead of watching BlizzCon...in a BlizzCon forum thread.

Nothing lowers my respect for game companies than when they patch glitches, but let those who benefited from it, keep their gains, especially when knowing that the company's logs can easily identify those who glitched.

This isn't even really a glitch though, people have been doing it for a long time and its like it just doesn't fit with their "vision" of ranking up.

Also, there was (is there still?) plenty of hacking of fake and buffed items being passed around on the console versions, that isn't happening on the PC version. Not sure what has changed if anything.

I'm not aware of any on the PS4 or Xbone. They aren't compromised systems like the PS3 and Xbox 360. Consoles aren't on battle.net proper either like the PC version is.

And as I said before and even said shortly after RoS launched. I'd be ok with clan trading...as long as there is a limit put on it. ie: items cant be traded to someone not in the clan at the time it dropped. Also only allow an item to be traded just once. Same would be for friends list. Doing this however would be a bit of a database nightmare and may not be feasible depending on what their resource budgets are.

I don't think it would be any worse than the auction house was in terms of resources. People like to share, its a social experience and I think trading only has benefits. The game is relatively secure at this point and that would be the only downside I can foresee.

Played it for 30 minutes and thought it was boring as hell. Pretty but boring and shallow. You can see it went through major design shifts, it just screams a lack of project management. Between this and Knack I don't have fond launch title memories.

i'm pretty sure they never do this at the official Microsoft booths, if ever only from the independent developer booths at expos.

I'm pretty sure its happened several times before but I don't care enough to go hunt down links about it.

Now THAT is blatant misrepresentation. Someone could rightfully sue over that.

Agreed, its a common Microsoft tactic, they love to post the promo stuff with all of the bells and whistles running on an i7 with a crazy video card. It's especially amusing when the competition is able to demonstrate on native hardware.

I'd like to hear what good moves EA has made in the past five years. I'm not being sarcastic. I just can't think of any. My brain is so full of the shit they've pulled:

The only real positive move I can think of is Origin. It's not Steam but getting better and they are actually having more frequent and deeper sales than they used to, as well as free 72 hour trials and so on. Your list is certainly very valid and I would agree that despite their annual churn of Madden/Fifa that they have done more bad than good over the past 3-4 years.

Unfortunately the big pubs can't afford to put a lot of money into something like Dead Space and wait 2-3 iterations for it to pay off. Their whole business model is annual franchise churn.

Everything I've read about this game is that its basically Sims 3 with less features so I'm not sure I care too much about its anti-piracy protection.

Developers and Publishers still are showing off games at trade shows that aren't fair representations of the game, look at how many console games are shown off using PC hardware.

Case in point most of the Xbone demos were running on PCs at recent tradeshows again.
