"In my world, broadband is incredibly competitive," Marcus said.

Is this true for any blues readers? I always find this kind of remark baffling. Granted, I've only lived in Texas, but here, there is never more than 1 single broadband provider for a particular address. Sometimes there are 0. The sole exception is the newly launched but quite limited Google Gigabit in parts of Austin.

It depends on the markets, in the cities you can have 1-3 big companies and a few resellers/independents. In rural areas its basically like one company if you're lucky. Government subsidies were supposed to go into broadband development/infrastructure but instead went to building cellphone networks.

Witcher 3 release window is good, I'm almost wrapped up with Bloodborne and GTA Online is pissing me off with its various loads and wonkiness so I think I'll just hop into that.

It's really just going to bring their efficiency in line with current Nvidia offerings. I'm happy AMD is around to keep Nvidia honest but I feel like their APUs are the only area they're really excelling at this point.

I was talking about the mid range which is the core of the market. But considering we have no idea what the performance hierarchy will shake out like and that AMD is famous for months long paper launches I'm not too excited for the 390 until there is something to go on. HBM seems promising but we just don't know enough about the actual specs of the card yet.

Great game, really happy to see some combat rebalancing though. Really awesome of them to offer this as a free upgrade.

Really disappointing, another channel dump and some rebadges on the mid range. Not going with Freesync as a standard feature across the board sucks. The annoyances and limitations with it are bad enough, now we have to worry about adoption as mid range cards are going out to OEMs without the feature. I know they had a ton of inventory left to dump but this is sad. Also lol at yet another 7850 rebadge, AMD is becoming a parody of itself.

The OR fundamentally changes your experience for a rather large subset of games: racing & driving sims, flight sims, space sims, and FP horror games. And it also seems to adapt well to FP RPG and adventure games that focus more on exploration and don't require the twitch reactions of FPSs. I view it as a strong niche product like joysticks or driving wheels which change and improve how you play certain kinds of games. These have been with us for decades. The OR is less like gimmicky products like kinect which can't die soon enough.

Exactly, well said. That's just how it integrates into existing ideas about gaming too, theres a lot of potential for unique experiences you can't have elsewhere. Previous iterations of VR couldn't really pull that off because the tech was so immature and there were essentially no build tools. It'll be interesting to see what devs come up with when they aren't constrained by designs for existing devices. It's undoubtedly going to be rocky at first but I'm very hopeful for the future.

This is pretty much how I feel about EA. I criticize what needs to be criticized but they have developers who make games I like and I'm not going to miss out on just because EA owns them. I enjoy the Battlefield series despite other people's opinions. I voted against Hardline by not buying it though and so did many others. But Hardline isn't going to stop be from buying the next true Battlefield a
Sequel or Battlefront or Mirror's Edge 2 because I love the first game and honestly I think I may go back and play it again now hat I mention it.

Exactly. I play videogames, I don't play publishers. I've already punished EA for past bad behavior by skipping out on several of their games anyway. At some point the past is the past and you have to move on. I'm not missing out on a great game that I want just because some random chucklehead on the internet has his panties in a twist about it. Why should I give a shit what anyone thinks of Mirror's Edge? I like it and I'm gonna buy it.

I don't understand why people always want these ginormous TVs. I actually scaled down from 42" to a 32". Not that it gets a lot of use to begin with.

I don't sit like 5 feet away from my TV, 32" wouldn't cut it. I have a big living room and more than one person watches the TV from different angles. 55" is the norm now, manufacturers are slowing down on 50" stuff and anything below that you get start getting into reduced feature sets, worse panels and etc.

I have yet to see an LCD that has the color quality and contrast of my 5 year old plasma TV. I too will be sad to see it go...

Yeah same here. This Sony comes close and even surpasses it in some respects but I still prefer the plasma for sports and gaming.

Some of you clowns are such massive hypocrites. You rail against EA all the live long day then buy up every fucking thing they release and it's all scheisse. So shut up about it, stop pretending your "indie" and admit you're EA/Actiblizz fanboys already. Then you can go hang out on PC Lamer with the rest of the lame-o's.

Lots of petty butthurt there because people like video games you don't like. I don't really care about making political statements out of my video games, its a leisure activity and you don't earn my salary for me so until then you don't get to tell me how to spend it. I don't feel the need to take a stance on EA either, I ding them when the deserve it and praise them when its appropriate. It's not recess sports where I have to pick a "side". I just buy what I like and if you don't like it then tough fucking shit

Shameful circle jerk here, is it any wonder why this forum doesn't get a lot of debate from the middle to right? *shakes head*

I might as well go read some D&D talk about "Democraps", this is about the same level of discourse.

TV shopping is almost as bad as shopping for speakers with my girlfriend, she can't tell the difference between anything "doesnt the TV already have speakers?" rarraghagahgihsag. I'm pretty happy with my latest Sony 55" in the living room. My Panny plasma is still going in the basement too, when that dies I'm going to be pretty sad.

I'm going to use the consoles backup function to store it on an external or something. It was a really cool little demo and a damned shame that they seem to be trying to delete it from existence. This is one of the annoyances of closed platforms.
