I did hunter in Alpha. Tried a bit of...uh, Mage or whatever the other guy is. They're very similar except for the specials. And the jump. The hunter's jump is way better than the floaty crap of the mage.

I thought the Warlocks was like a jet pack? It was hit or miss for me, sometimes I could make an awesome jump, and sometimes it didn't work. But I agree it did feel floaty.

It's pretty bad when the person who hosts the AMA is getting their posts buried below viewing threshold.

Has an AMA ever gone so wrong?

As for their remaining KS funds, would it be out of the realm of possibility that that is already their own money pitched in as that seems like a more plausible explanation or is that against the KS rules?

Pretty sure that's against the rules (contributing your own funds) but I'd have to research it.

Not that I'm sure it hasn't happened before...

edit: Ready for Thursday!!!!!

I always wonder why the hell game designers think future weapons are still going to feature revolvers. Talk about outdated tech. I mean, they're outdated NOW. Thousands of years in the future? Not to mention everything is still being operated by a hammer and firing pin? Really? No caseless ammo? No plasma rifles in the 40W range?

All I know is apparently I'm rolling a Hunter now.

edit: And this thing is just begging for some sort of space combat add-on...

At this point, they're close enough to their goal (15K), it wouldn't surprise me in the least if they kick in their own money, to make off with the other 35K.

If people haven't canceled their KS by now with all the negative publicity, they must totally believe the devs and are fine with them taking their money.

It is rather puzzling that they've not dropped below $35-$34 K...are they other folks just not paying attention? Planning to withdraw at the last minute? I don't know...

Pretty much the only ones not asking skeptical questions were day old accounts with no other posts many of whom addressed the devs "Mr. Sytyanov" and so on, and those they did reply to, making it look a lot like they were talking to themselves to make it look like it was a real AMA.

We noticed that as well. But there were a few legit people (over on the KS comments) who said they registered just for the event.

I stumbled into watching the end of that by accident, over dinner last night...I take some morbid joy in watching the losing teams fans cry. I could see why the players do it - they've trained and worked hard for so long, to get to that point, only to have it taken away. But the fans? hehehehehehehe...

Yeah, that went well!

They actually lost money on the KS, during the AMA...

I supported the Divinity kickstarter and now want to play the game. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to get it over Steam without having to pay for it again.

Maybe I'm just thick, but can someone help?

Was it through humble? Sometimes you have to have them resend your keys and it'll show up there. I've gotten a few that way.

Just a quick zip through - they didnt' answer ANY questions did they?

Not really. People would ask about their finances or covering physical rewards, etc, and they would just cut and paste their non-answer from the FAQ. That's why things went so badly for them: Instead of taking the opportunity to clear the air and be honest, they doubled down on the "we'll tell you more later" or "we've already covered that, and won't answer it again" (when in reality, they never answered the question the begin with).

It's like they don't understand their failure is totally because of their own actions. You could actually watch the kickstarter losing money as they participated in the AMA.

The above is an example of trolling and flaming. Merely attacking the poster instead of the subject.

You're just posting generic links to wikipedia and make no effort to respond in any meaningful way to any criticism of your ridiculously one sided tripe. To be blunt you don't deserve any special consideration or treatment.

- DADES - This is a signature of my name, enjoy!

His posts are about how his thoughts and ideas are superior to everyone elses. Because if you're not doing things his way, you're clearly not doing things right. And that's condescending.

Animals should be in the wild nature. I imagine if we asked a pet what it would prefer, it would want its freedom; if it had the chance to experience both captivity and the wild. Unfortunately, an animal is incapable of communicating that fact. I have had pets in the past and loved them. But in retrospect, they should have been running in the wild. If you find my opinion offensive, put the situation in reverse: Can you honestly say you would prefer to be a pet?

Dogs (wolves) and cats domesticated themselves. Being with humans was better than being in the wild.

So goes the theory, anyway.

Hey, look! Another condescending post from bobbob.

for me, the design of the DA series was such that combat was always subservient to the narrative anyway, and in that regard it's done a fine enough job. if in DA3, they've made the world far larger, with more immersive graphics, design, and character interaction, and combat isn't totally unfair one way or another, that's all i need.

The fact us that DA2 sold worse than DA1. That should suggest that people thought it was an overall worse experience.

You can dance around with your 'I'm an oldtimer embracing the new shiny' spiel all you want, but at the end of the day, not giving your target audience what they prefer tends to have a detrimental effect on your selling power.

They are people who think X Rebirth is awesome. Current player numbers would strongly tend to suggest that they are a minority.

DA3 may turn out to be an awesome game. It may turn into DA2 all over again. I don't know. I just know that I have much less confidence in Bioware than I used to. So I'll just wait and see.

That was just...brilliantly said.

I like it, and $5 seems fair. Check out these Let's Plays and see what you think...
